    Lan Clan is strict on their rules to make all the members of their clan into disciplined human beings and Lan Wangji is second to the heir of the clan who has always followed all the 3000 rules set by the clan because that was what he was taught and found peace while doing so, he is always named a model student of gusu and one of the finest cultivators of their age in the cultivation world.
    However, Wangji finds everything in his world changed when one fateful full moon night an annoying but very talented boy with two bottles of emperor smiles in his hands challenges everything he has ever believed in his life and creates havoc in the very calm and peaceful life of Lan Wangji.

    Lan Wangji is the protector of the rules in the Lan sect and as he meets Wei Wuxian the new disciple who came to gusu to study cultivation all hell breaks loose as Lan Wangji is unable to do his role properly.

    This story goes through the timeline of the live-action version of Mo Dao Zu Shi but it's in Lan Wangji's POV.
