Calliope grunted in frustration and eased her grip, knowing I was right. “I hate you.” She muttered, fully releasing her grip and sitting up on top of me.
“Does saying that make you feel any better?” I asked softly, rubbing my sore neck.
“No.” She admitted, her eyes getting misty. “But I wish it did. It’d be easier than feeling whatever loving you makes me feel.”
