A God in His Bed

Summary:

Kyle and Levi don't see things the same way sometimes even when they kind of do.

Notes:

This chapter doesn't continue the last one I posted (167), so I'll modify the order of the chapters in the future once I post the continuation of that one. I'm posting this one today instead because it was inspired by chapter 6 and the whole season 2 of "To My Star" and I didn't want to post it after chapter 7 has aired. It obviously has spoilers for season 2 if you haven't seen it and also, you don't need to have seen this series or know the characters to read the story.

Of course, if reading this makes you want to watch this awesome series, that is great. Season 2 has 10 episodes, so I don't think that these spoilers ruin the watching experience because only a few scenes and characters are mentioned so you'd still have a lot of surprises to enjoy.

There's also a chance that nobody will give a shit about this chapter but yeah, watching this series made me think a lot of Levi since I think he's very similar to Seo Joon and it's interesting to see how he feels about Seo Joon's actions after Ji Woo leaves him. I thought: "would he react the same way? And how does Kyle feel about each character's behavior?" So, yeah, these are the first thoughts that brought me to write this dialogue.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

a-god-400

“God, I hate you,” Levi says, shaking his head as he turns off the TV.

“Don’t be so dramatic. Plus, I know you could never hate me, you love me too much,” Kyle smiles.

“Believe me, right now I can and I do,” Levi runs a hand through his hair.

Kyle laughs. “You know, sometimes It's hard to believe that you’re actually an actor.”

“What does it have to do with anything?” Kyle raises his eyebrows.

“Okay, fine, forget it,” Kyle waves his arms, grinning.

“I don’t even know why I agreed to watch it with you again,” Levi shakes his head, frowning.

“I’m gonna make a wild guess here and say that Son Woo Hyun might have been a determinant factor,” Kyle says, waving his arms.

“Well, yeah, but—”

“Plus, there’s Kim Kang Min, their amazing acting, the great writing… their perfect chemistry…” Kyle continues, sitting sideways, on his side of the sofa.

“Fine, that might be the case, obviously, but you know perfectly well what I mean and I’m not doing this again. It’s too-fucking-painful,” Levi says, stressing every word.

“Well, they’ve broken up—It’s supposed to be painful,” Kyle opens his arms wide.

“Yeah, I know. But it’s like… it doesn't make any fucking sense. So, did I say it's painful? And stupid… and they’ve made me hate Ji Woo, so if the point of season two was to make me hate him, then, yeah, mission accomplished.”

“You’re being too hard." Kyles shakes his head. "Relationships fail and life can be depressing. I think the writers were actually very brave going this way with the story.”

“I do know that relationships fail, thank you very much… but if you’re gonna write that, at least there should be a reason and the problem is that Ji Woo doesn’t have any… Everything he tells him when he's finally able to ask him, is a bunch of bullshit, not to mention the fact that who the fuck lives for a year with this amazing man and then, disappears just leaving a fucking stupid note? That whole move makes you hate him from the start.”

“Okay,” Kyle nods, “I’m not gonna try to justify the note thing… that really sucks but—”

“Because you can’t justify it. I mean, we’re talking about a guy who has pretty much won the lottery not only meeting a movie star but also, getting him to fall in love with him. A star who is not only fucking hot, adorable, kind, and talented in every possible way—Kissing abilities included—”

“Are you still talking about Seo Joon or about yourself?” Kyle grins.

Levi shakes his head but doesn’t bother to answer. “He also bought him a car for his birthday, for god’s sake—I mean, he’s had this legit god in his bed for at least a year and he left him without any explanation. Who the hell does that?”

“Ummm... Ji Woo?” Kyle offers, smiling.

“Yeah, and it makes no sense—Especially when he knew that Seo Joon’s parents left him behind to move to Italy. It’s like… Could you be more fucking evil?”

“True. His family history makes it even worse and yeah, that was despicable, to say the least… but it makes sense that Seo Joon wants to know why he left him.”

“Obviously, but…” Kyle sighs, “Seo Joon needs to move on and Ji Woo is an asshole who doesn’t deserve him. He kisses him and fucks him knowing full well that nothing is gonna change—that he is not gonna change and that this is the last thing that Seo Joon needs. And then, that scene where Seo Joon is saying all the ways in which he’s gonna change so that Ji Woo accepts him again?” Levi asks, waving his arms.

“God, I know,” Kyle nods.

“That was humiliating.” Levi continues. “The last thing I wanna see is a guy who could have anybody he wanted in the world... somebody who actually appreciated him as he deserves, being humiliated once again by this asshole… So, I’m sorry, but I can’t see him going through that shit anymore.” It hurts too much.

“It’s not like if I like to watch it either, okay? But it just shows you that he might be a big star but he’s a very normal guy and he’s clearly not over Ji Woo and people who act like this exist, you know? He’s ready to do whatever it takes to get him back even if we know he mustn’t. So, yeah, is it fucking painful? Hell, yeah… but it’s also realistic. And you know what? When I left the show, people hated my character for leaving his boyfriend behind so—”

“He didn’t leave a note and disappeared,” Levi interrupts him.

“No, he didn’t and even if he had a reason to leave, some fans still hated him for a while… so, all I’m saying is that Ji Woo is also a very complex character and I trust these writers… so, I’m not gonna hate him completely without having all the facts and without having seen the whole season.”

“I wish I had your trust,” Kyle says getting up.

“Come on, they made him bisexual. I think they deserve some extra trust just for that.”

“Yeah, a bisexual asshole,” Levi nods.

Kyle laughs, shaking his head. “Look, everything you said about him is true… I’m not even gonna try to contradict you but still, I think the fact that you’re also a star might have something to do with the way you feel about Ji Woo… because the truth is that you’ve always been popular and well, I’m also a celebrity or whatever, so I guess that’s probably why we work… But, for Ji Woo and his many insecurities, it can’t be easy to live with someone who is loved by so many people, you know? He doesn’t really get what it means or how to deal with it.”

“Well, I’ve had boyfriends who weren’t in the business… so I don’t know.” Levi shrugs. “But you might be right about us—” After all, he ended up breaking up with all of them for one reason or another.

“I’m pretty sure I am,” Kyle says getting up. “Come on, it’s almost eight, we need to get going if we’re gonna make it to the restaurant.”

“So, that’s it, you’re not gonna try to convince me to watch the next episode?” Levi smiles, getting up as well.

Kyle doesn’t need to try. He knows Levi will never miss the next episode no matter what he says.

“No, I'm not,” Kyle shakes his head, heading upstairs. “I need to have a shower.”
