Work Text:
“No, Cas, you can’t just bring home a child for a wedding present.”
They stood together in the kitchen of the bunker, Dean’s right hand covering his eyes in disbelief.
“You told me you wanted more children.”
“Yeah, but there’s generally some discussion before just bringing one home."
The child in question, a teenage boy who Castiel insisted was only four days old, was happily eating Cookie Crunch cereal at the worn wooden table.
“You bring home random children all the time.”
“Claire is your daughter!”
“Claire is my vessel’s daughter, Dean.”
“That’s the same– Where did you even find this kid?”
Looking over to the boy, Castiel’s expression softened as he watched him top his bowl up with fresh cereal.
“Jack is my brother, Lucifer’s kid.”
“Of course he is. Do you really expect me to raise the devil’s son?”
“Keep your voice down, you’ll hurt his feelings.”
“He’s not even listening, he hasn’t stopped eating since he sat down.”
“Just like his new father…”
“What?!”
“What?”
“Whose kid?”
They were interrupted by Sam, tall and sweaty, returning from his morning run, entering to grab one of his horrible green juices from the fridge.
“Apparently, ours.”
Dean’s hand was still covering his eyes.
“I thought he would make a good wedding gift.”
“That’s great, Dean, you always wanted the whole white picket fence, two-point-five kids marriage.”
“Where would we even get half a kid–“
“That is not what that means.”
“Does it have to be exactly half the size of the other children?”
“Dammit, Sam!”
