Chapter Text
He was a beauty filled with darkness. A fallen angel of sorts. But that’s not what he was; a Demi-God was what he’s called.
He descended down the stairs of the extravagant gothic mansion, cast in darkness save for the candles that were aligned along the walls. His footsteps echoed through the vast emptiness of the hall.
His dark hair was loose, damp, covering his left eye with its length, his slender neck was adorned with a black choker and several chain necklaces that fell against his bare chest, the neckline of his black shirt hung low down to his abdomen, his deep red blazer doing nothing to cover his front. The chains around his neck and the chains hanging from the belt loops of his pants jingled as he descended -loud in the silence with every step he took; his posture full of grace.
His sights were set upon the small figure waiting by the table placed in the foyer.
The figure was just as well-dressed in his flower-print silk blouse tucked into white pants adorned with flower petals, tulle cape falling over his shoulders and arms, the ends pooling on the floor by his floral shoes. His fluffy hair was a mess of curls, full of flower petals that did not fall off at all, the pastel flower crown resting upon his head was a contrast to the other male’s own crown made of silver, embellished with obsidian crystal points.
“You wished to speak with me?” The beauty of darkness questioned, his loud, icy voice echoing throughout the foyer. He stood upon the last step, expression unchanged even as the kind sweetheart infront of him smiled.
“So, you are the Son of Erebus?” The other asked in response, interest sparking in his eyes.
“Yes, I am Kim, Son of Erebus. Who might you be?”
“Oh. You musn’t have heard of me,” For a split second, there was disappointment in the boy’s eyes. “I am Porchay, Son of Antheia, but you can call me Chay.”
Kim could not recognize either name. The Goddess sounded familiar, but it could have been a name he had only heard in passing, and her son -the boy- did not strike any familiarity at all.
“My apologies for not knowing. Is there a reason for your visit? Many avoid me at all costs.”
At that, the boy named Chay puffed up his cheeks, his hands fidgeting with the tulle cloth of his cape. He seemed to be raised differently from the other Children -or Demi-Gods- from what Kim observed; Chay had no straight posture, was clearly unbroken by heavy expectations, and so clearly had an immaturity and innocence about him.
Most importantly, this boy seemed to be no threat. So, Kim took one step down, the chain on his boot clanging against the zipper, loud in the silence, startling the boy infront of him.
“Um, well, I’m here to bring you an invitation, for the uh, Ostara Ball.”
Kim took a deep breath to keep himself calm, he had no interest in socialization with either of the Other Children, hence he lived in a large mansion alone save for his guards and personal attendants -courtesy of his father, Erebus- hidden away past the large woodlands of the Other Realm, where all the Demi-Gods/Children lived.
The Other Children weren’t ever allowed in Kim’s home for long, Chay was only lasting this long because in a way, he caught Kim’s attention, as he was so different from the others, almost like a breath of fresh air - almost . He was curious about this Child that he hadn’t ever heard of from any of the Other Children, especially from the Son of Aphrodite or Daughter of Hermes, both who loved to gossip.
“I have no interest in such…events.” Kim stated, “And why is it you who came to invite me?”
Chay fidgeted nervously under the other’s gaze, “Uh, because, the others were, um, they were-”
“Scared?” Kim asked, smirking.
Chay chuckled, “Yes…”
“And you aren’t?”
“I don’t know…I’m naturally scared of everyone…I mean, people can be intimidating, and uh, I was a bit curious?”
“Curious?” Kim asked, intrigued.
“Well, I’ve met all the other Children, at least once….but never you. A-And the way everyone acts, it makes it seem like you’re…different. Like, they react badly to just your name…And I wanted to know why? I guess. Or see for myself?”
Kim stared the other down, though Chay just avoided his gaze. “And? What do you think?” He wanted to hear the other’s answer, since the flower boy spoke with such honesty -shy, but honest, and Kim appreciated that, somewhat respected that.
Chay subconsciously jutted out his bottom lip as he thought of what to say. “I don’t….know you. I mean, you don’t seem like…how they described you, but I don’t know you. The others sounded like they did?”
“No one knows me. They just know of me and my reputation, and I prefer to keep it that way.”
“Why?” Chay asked, genuinely, which threw Kim off.
He shrugged, “I guess I just don’t like anyone enough to let them know me.”
Chay was subconsciously pouting again, and for some damn reason it was distracting Kim, yet he couldn’t figure out why. “Oh.” Was the only thing he said, and he sounded disappointed almost, which wasn’t sitting well with Kim, and he didn’t like this feeling at all.
“Are you going?” He asked before he had even realized his mouth was moving.
Chay looked at him confused. “Oh. I’m leaving now, yes.” He responded.
Kim chuckled, which had the other looking even more confused. “I meant to the Ostara Ball. Are you going?”
Chay’s eyes widened before a flustered blush adorned his cheeks and he smiled sheepishly, to which Kim had to catch himself from staring at. “Yes. For a little while. I don’t…like large crowds. And, I don’t really get along much with the Other Children.”
“I understand.”
Chay seemed to sigh in relief at his response. And then he scrambled to take something out of his pocket. “Um, here’s the invitation, before I forget.”
He handed it over to Kim. Kim made sure to have their hands touch when he grabbed the envelope, and he watched in amusement at the flinch and look of surprise he got from the other. Kim, being the son of someone who was basically Chaos itself, was colder than others, even more than the Children of Hades. His body ran at the coldest temperatures, but he never felt it, only others did, and they avoided touching him, growing up, which he didn’t care much about.
He did however, not mind the warmth he felt from Chay, and he even felt a little relieved that instead of recoiling, Chay just looked surprised at his touch of cold.
And then he was stepping away and giving Kim a smile that Kim never thought he would receive from another Child of the Gods. “I should get going now.”
Kim hummed, “Is your curiosity satisfied?”
Chay’s smile didn’t waver, if anything it turned a little cheeky, “ Maybe .”
Cute. Kim thought, and he didn’t push that thought away.
“I’ll see you at the ball?” Chay asked.
Kim smirked, “Maybe.”
Chay giggled at his response, and Kim had to catch himself from smiling with the boy. “I’ll get going now then...Goodbye.”
Kim nodded in greeting and then followed from a distance as Chay headed out of the large front doors, down the steps and towards a beautiful white horse who was decorated with just as many flowers as the boy was.
Once he was seated upon the saddled horse, Chay looked back at Kim and waved enthusiastically, smiling.
Kim’s lip twitched in a small smile as he nodded his head once, then watched as the boy left through the gates, and into the distance.
Kim wasn’t sure how long he watched, only going back in when he was sure he couldn’t see the shadow of the boy’s figure on-top the horse in the distance.
“So, Son of Antheia? Not who I expected you would fall for, but I can see it.”
Kim sighed, looking up from his food at the empty dinner table to his brother sauntering in as though he owned the place. His brothers were the only ones who were allowed in, though he regretted implementing that rule in place when Khun, the oldest, kept on visiting him solely to pesture him.
“Thank you for your input, brother.” Kim said sarcastically.
“You’re welcome.”
Kim sighed. Before realizing that his brother implied he knew who Chay was. “Wait? You know the Son of Antheia?”
At the curious look on Kim’s face, Khun’s smile curled into one of interest and teasing, as he dramatically sat upon the chair to Kim’s right, since Kim was seated in the head seat. “Of course I do. Both sons, actually, though I have only ever met Porchay. I met him when I was looking for a flower crown earlier this week. Ostara is the festival of spring and I needed a flower crown to go with my outfit -of course dark flowers, I am still Erebus’ son. Anyway, he helped me out, and actually made it for me himself. I was going to ask Persephone’s daughter, but I ran into Porchay instead and he was the sweetest. I don’t know much about him past that, and neither do the Other Children, apparently he’s just as much a recluse as you. Which is unfortunate, he’s beautiful and kind, and is very skilled with flower crowns.” Khun sighed at the end and looked at his brother, his own eyes widened at the way Kim’s eyes had softened and he seemed to be hanging onto every word Khun was saying -something Kim never did. He avoided listening to Khun whenever possible.
Kim noticed the way his older brother was staring at him and he straightened up, his expression going back to one of no emotion.
Khun shook his head at that, but smiled warmly at his brother, “You know, if he makes you happy. Go for it. You deserve to be happy, Kim. And I think you should go for it before someone else does.”
Kim deflated, “I don’t know how….”
“Oh Gods Above, you’re pathetic.”
Kim was at the Great Hall just a day before the Ostara Ball.
He had been tasked with bringing the creation of the Veil of Night in the form of a crystal ball; the dark mist that the God Erebus had filled and created the Underworld with. It was a recreation though, fake and harmless in the form of a crystal ball so that the planners of the Ostara event could use it as a display with other important objects -fake remakes- from the stories of the Gods in the Great Hall.
The invitation that Kim had been given had requested him to bring a sort of remake of the Veil of Night to the event, only if he was going to attend, and since he actually thought about showing up to the actual event, he thought he’d give in to the request. It definitely wasn’t because he had found out Chay would be helping with decorating the Hall on this day -nope, not for this reason at all.
Everyone watched him stalk down the Hall in awe since none of the Children of the Early Gods -the Primordial Deities- ever wanted anything to do with the Other Children or the events they planned, save for Khun, of course, he was the only social butterfly out of the Children of the Primordial Deities.
They watched on, in intrigue and fear, as Kim actually headed over to Porchay with determined steps -the soft Son of Antheia, the sweet male who kept to himself but found a way to charm anyone he met.
They all gossiped among themselves over why Kim would be seeking Porchay out; a Child of a Primordial Deity seeking out a Child of a Charis.
Kim approached the boy who was trying to fix the position of a bouquet of flowers upon the table that would no doubt hold refreshments at the event.
Thankfully there was no one else near Chay -just everyone watching from afar, which was still grating on Kim’s nerves, though one look at Chay, and Kim actually felt the irritation leave his body, which settled a bit odd for him.
This time, Chay was wearing a hooded cape made of pink tulle, the hood replacing his flower crown upon his head but still, the see-through material allowed anyone to see the flower petals stuck to his hair. The cape he wore overtop a pale lilac blouse, tucked into white pants that adorned the designs of purple and pink butterfly patches. In contrast, Kim was wearing a silk black button up, dark but seemed to shimmer under the light -not unlike The Void itself that he had command over - tucked into dark ripped jeans and black boots from which swung silver chains. His hair wasn’t styled, just loosely falling over his eyes.
“Chay?” He called out, quietly, voice blending in with the chatter of some of the Other Children. Chay heard it though, and turned, eyes widening at the sight of the other male. For a slight second, Kim wondered if Chay did not want to see him -until the softer male beamed so wide it surprised Kim.
“Kim! What are you doing here? Are you here to help with decorating?” He asked, excitedly leaning back and forth on the balls of his feet.
Kim smirked at the sheepish look across the other’s face as he realized his excitement. “I came to drop something off.”
“Oh?”
“It’s the Veil of Night, fake, obviously, in a smaller form.”
“Woah…I wanna see.” Chay breathed, eyes glittering in excitement. He had heard of the Veil of Night -the creation of the shadows of the Underworld, something that Kim’s father had been responsible for.
“You can go see it once they’ve put it together…Unless you want to see the real version?”
“Huh.” Chay was clearly not expecting that.
Kim wondered why the fuck he had said that. No one was allowed to see the darker parts of his powers, of what he could summon and create, he wasn't even allowed to use it often since it was a huge responsibility.
“I mean if it isn’t a hassle, I’d like to see…what you can do…with the Void…someday.”
Kim hummed, smirking. “Someday.”
“So, um, did you need something from me?”
“No. I thought I’d pass by and see how you are before I leave.”
“Oh. You’re leaving already?”
“Yeah.” Kim wanted to wipe the look of disappointment off, but he really did not want to be here, especially with how much the Other Children were staring and whispering, it was annoying. He wasn’t sure how long he’d be able to keep his cool if he stayed.
With a sigh, and an impulsive thought, just to see a smile on Chay’s face again, Kim opened the palm of his hand just as his magic appeared - black shadows shimmering and forming into the solid shape of a necklace; a black lace choker with a dark pendant formed atop his hand. Kim couldn’t help but watch how mesmerized Chay seemed with the slight pull of his power, it made…pride swell in his chest.
“I don’t know what you’re wearing to the event, but you can add this as an accessory if you wish.”
“Of course! I will! Thank you so, so much, it’s so pretty. But, I-I don’t have anything to give you in return.”
“You don’t need to.”
Chay pouted but accepted the gift, “The stone is pretty.” He breathed as he ran his thumb over the dark stone.
“It’s black obsidian -it’s my stone.”
“Yours?”
“Each of us, Children of Erebus, have stones that represent us, specifically each of us. It is a fact that generally people know, but I’m not surprised that there are people who don’t know…Black Obsidian is my stone. It represents me.”
“Oh…it’s really pretty…like you!”
Kim almost choked on air, but didn’t because he was a distinguished gentleman, thank you very much.
“Um…thank you, y-you’re pretty…also.”
Chay smiled at his attempt, giggling. And if anyone saw him, they could very well see Kim’s gaze turn soft, the edges around his eyes soften and his lips part in disbelief over such a creature existing in front of him.
“I should, um, go.”
“Okay. I’ll see you?”
“Yeah, I’ll see you.”
“Khun. I gave him a necklace. With an obsidian stone .”
“Oh my Gods, you have fallen deep.”
Kim groaned, “I know….”
The Ostara Ball took place in the day, to honor the spring.
The sunlight glared in through the windows of the Great Hall, lighting up the flowers in a way that seemed almost magical, along with adding shimmer to the crowns and the stones, and the cloths that the Children wore.
Music played inside, fading out into the balcony, where Kim sat against the wall with his eyes shut just feeling the spring weather though he preferred the winter’s cold. For the event, he was dressed in a see-through black button-up, untucked over his dark jeans that shimmered under the sunlight, his black obsidian-filled crown sat atop his hair that was in loose waves.
“Found you!” exclaimed Chay, jumping in front of the Son of Erebus.
Kim, unaffected by the suddenness, opened his eyes and couldn’t help himself from staring at the beauty in front of him; said beauty wore a white button up tied around the waist by a light pink sash, loose large sleeves falling over his hands, covering them, another hooded tulle cape was put over his shoulders. Though this time he had the flower crown tucked onto his fluffed hair, as well as the flower petals stuck to his hair strands. And the choker necklace that Kim had given him was tied around his slender neck, looking so out of place among all the light shades, yet looking perfectly fit for the boy. Kim felt something foreign at the sight of the stone settled over the hollow of Chay’s neck. But it was a good feeling, he was sure.
Chay pouted at the lack of reaction, “I didn’t scare you, did I?”
“I don’t think you could scare a bunny if you tried.”
Chay narrowed his eyes, and with a huff he sat down beside Kim, cross-legged in contrast to Kim with one leg straightened out and the other bent, resting his arm upon his knee.
“So, Uh, I think I have an idea of what to give you.”
“You don’t have to.” Kim said instantly.
Chay shook his head, “I want to. Please?”
“Okay.” How could he say no when Chay was pleading him?
Chay, sure of himself, leaned over to the ledge of the balcony and pulled out a little bit of a green vine from the floral decor. He twisted it in his hands, then reached up to his hair and picked out petals from his hair, twisted them onto the vine that he had picked out.
“Ta da! A bracelet.” He took Kim’s hand and slid it on, ignoring the cold skin. Kim, on the other hand, enjoyed the warmth the other boy gave him.
The bracelet settled around Kim’s wrist, twisting in size until it fit his wrist -no doubt a part of Chay’s magic.
“Um, do you like it? You don’t have to wear it- or like it-”
“Chay, I like it.” And he did, even though he wasn’t the type to wear accessories other than his crown and some chains here and there and maybe an earring or two, maybe a necklace but very rarely, but that was it, he usually found accessories irritating; the bracelet was the only object of colour on him, but it was…it was Chay and it made his heart race. Made his heart race over the fact that both of them had a little of the other shown on them; Chay with his obsidian stone necklace, and Kim with his light petaled bracelet.
“I'm glad then.”
“So, what is with the flowers? If I can ask. I mean, how do they just stay in your hair? I’ve never seen it with any of the Other Children.” He referred to the petals in Chay’s hair.
“Magic.” Chay replied. “It’s my magic…it’s me. And it’s my mother. It’s just something I’ve always had. When I was a kid, I asked her for something unique, and it’s odd, but I made this request as a child, and now flowers just…stick to me, if I wanted them too.” He let out a little huff of laughter, and even Kim was smirking at the story. Then Chay lifted his hand and with a twist of his wrist, the petals scattered across his hair all flew off, all of them floating over to Kim’s hand, which he stretched out, gracefully landing onto his palm in a pile.
Kim watched in fascination. Then he took a petal, felt the smooth texture before reaching out and placing it back on Chay’s hair, he did the same with the rest, one by one, focused on finding places to set them in Chay’s hair.
Chay kept still, enjoying the feeling, Kim borderline just ruffling his hair at this point.
“It suits you. And you’re right…it is you.” Kim said, genuinely, softly. “I’m…that didn’t make sense did it? I mean, obviously it is you, and would suit you…”
“It does! It does make sense. Thank you.”
Kim smiled at him, an actual smile. And though thrown off, Chay smiled back.
“What do you do when you're free?” Chay asked, munching on a cookie. He had brought a plate of snacks for the two of them, along with some wine. Both of them barely ever glanced at the event happening inside, and no one else bothered him, save for the surprised looks some sent their way when they were noticed. Mainly, they were hidden in the corner of the balcony, and not many noticed them.
Kim shrugged, nibbling on a brownie, “Nothing much. I just explore places in the mortal realm.”
“Oh.”
“You?”
“I live there.” Chay answered.
“What? In the moral realm?” Kim asked, genuinely curious.
“Yeah, I have a small apartment above a flower shop that my brother helped me open. He lives with his husband now. I haven’t met his husband yet since they're both always busy and they live far away, but I don’t mind. I have the flower shop and the customers, they’re all so nice.”
Kim nodded. “Don’t you ever get lonely?”
Chay thought about it, and then locked gazes with the other. “Do you?”
“I guess.”
Chay hummed, “I guess, me too. Even though I’m surrounded by people, I still feel lonely.”
“I grew up only knowing the Void, even my brothers. For the longest time, loneliness was all we knew..” Kim responded.
Chay hesitated, but with a determined gaze set upon Kim, he said, “I would like to share that Void with you, if you would let me.”
Kim had to only look at Chay with a soft gaze, and a small, fond smile, and Chay understood just how much that statement meant to the other.
They spent the rest of the event talking, or just enjoying each other’s company in silence, which wasn’t awkward at all.
“Yeah, apparently the Son of Hades wants to court me.” Chay said, sipping on the wine.
“What.”
“Yeah, I refused though.”
“Huh. Okay.”
“Is something wrong?”
“Nope.”
“We’ve spent a while here.” Chay pointed out.
“Yeah.” Kim nodded. “We should go, everyone else is leaving, and the sun’s setting soon.”
Chay nodded. “You know, if you’d like, you could come visit me in the mortal realm.”
Kim observed the other, and then looked away, feeling a bit flustered at the honesty in Chay’s eyes, “I would love to.”
Chay, in an impulsive moment, leaned in to kiss his cheek but Kim, assuming the other was leaning close to tell him something, turned at that second -both their lips brushed against each other in the lightest of touches.
Chay pulled back immediately. “Oh my gods, I’m so sorry!” and then he was gone.
Kim, who was just as surprised, broke out of the daze of surprise, cursed and got up, he took one step forward and disappeared, leaving a trail of smoke in his wake.
Chay was rushing down the stairs, towards the back doors that he had entered the Hall from, until his arm was pulled and he was yanked back, pushed against a wall. There were cold hands on his cheeks, grounding him, and he was staring into the dark eyes of the Son of Erebus.
Kim, in turn, saw the Son of Antheia deflate and relax against his touch.
“Chay. You’re okay.” Kim said softly, stroking Chay’s cheek with his thumb.
“I-I’m sorry.”
“You don’t need to be sorry, Chay, it’s not like you did something I didn’t want.”
It took Chay a second to register what the other meant. “...Oh.”
“Hm. You get it?” Kim asked with a smirk.
“Y-yes….Can we…Can we do it again then? Properly?” Chay asked quietly, hope shining in his eyes, and how could Kim refuse that, especially when it was also what he wanted.
Without responding, Kim leaned in and pressed their lips together, both their eyes falling shut, as their lips embraced each other. Kim’s hand slid down from Chay’s cheek to his neck, where the necklace was wrapped around his neck -he stroked the skin around the necklace, earning a whimper from the flower boy against him.
Chay’s own hand came up to wrap around Kim’s wrists, the bracelet shifting under his fingertips.
They pulled away only slightly, before Kim went back in for another kiss, just as soft and reassuring as the first. Then, as their lips detached, slowly, the two of them rested their foreheads against each other, their eyes still shut as they breathed each other in, both of them feeling the foreign feeling of love bubbling in their chests.
Kim was the first to open his eyes, and he smiled wide at the softened look upon Chay’s face. Kim pressed another kiss against his lips, and when he pulled away, Chay was quick to pull the Demi-God of Chaos and Darkness into his arms; into the arms of the Demi-God of Flowers and Blooms, giving the colder male warmth through his affection and his comforting hold.
Finding out that his lover was taken by the Son of Hades wasn't how Kim had wanted to start off his day.
And yet, he stood at the entrance of the Underworld, feeling the cold, icy rage settling in his chest.
They had plans that day; Kim had promised to go into the mortal world with Chay that day, and they could do some sight-seeing in Italy and go on a date upon Chay’s request. Chay had wanted to go on a date like all the other mortal couples, and Kim, who would do anything to see Chay smile, had agreed.
However, that plan was ruined.
Instead, Kim was stalking his way into the Underworld, the Shadows of the Void fluttering around him like embers of fire, except it was dark and cold, burning anyone to ice if they dared come near him. Even the Souls of the Dead went running as they felt the anger and rage eminitting off of him. Even the Dead knew this wasn’t just any Demi-God, this was the Son of Erebus, Son of the Void and Darkness and Chaos, the Son of a Primordial Deity -and he was pissed.
The Void among the Underworld answered to him and led him to where Macau had hid his precious flower.
Instead of just Macau, Vegas was also with him; both Sons of Hades stood in the hall of their home, Vegas looking wary, and Macau irritated.
“What can we do for you?” Vegas asked, not taking any steps towards the danger that was the Son of Erebus.
“Your brother has taken my lover. I want him back.” Kim responded, no expression on his face, his voice cold and laced with the threat of danger should his request not be granted.
“Your lover?” Vegas asked.
“Yes, Porchay, Son of Antheia. He is my lover.” If Porchay were with him, he would have no doubt corrected Kim into calling him ‘boyfriend’. He liked the mortal term a lot and would gently smack Kim whenever Kim didn’t use it, and then pout -and Kim would give in like he always did with Chay.
“I didn’t know you had claimed him.” Macau stated, clearly unapologetic.
“I didn’t claim him. He is mine just as I am his, and you’ve taken him away from me.”
Vegas sighed, feeling a headache coming along. “We can sit and talk about this-”
“We will not. You will give him back to me or I will becken the Void into destroying this shithole, with you two in it, do you understand? ” Anyone could see the threat in his eyes, and the way he was shaking in concealed rage, and the Void fluttering around him was increasing, creating a shimmer of shadows around Kim’s figure, making him look all the more terrifying and monstrous.
Vegas instinctively took a step breath and nodded, “....Understood.”
“Vegas!” Macau exclaimed, angered.
“Shut up. You do know who he is, correct? We do not go up against the Children of Primordial Deities.”
“But, Vegas-”
Vegas ignored him and instead responded to Kim, “You may go take him. You know your way around the Underworld.”
“Don’t worry, I don’t plan on staying.” Kim said before heading down the Hall -the shadows among the Underworld had already told him where his flower was.
“So you get to keep your lover, but I can’t?!” He heard Macau question in anger.
“I didn’t steal my lover from the Son of a Primordial Deity. I stole him from the Olympian Children, idiot…”
Kim didn’t stick around to listen.
Kim found him in the garden…a dead garden.
Chay stood in between the dark, dead flowers, a saddened expression on his face as he stared out at all the lifeless plants around him.
It ached Kim as he knew Chay was aching, being around this much death of what he had power over. But the Underworld wouldn’t listen to Chay’s power of life and bloom, and therefore the Son of Antheia would never be able to give life to any of these plants.
“Porchay.”
Chay looked up, widened his eyes at the sight of Kim -within seconds Kim had an armful of his weeping flower.
“K-Kim, take me away, please, i-it hurts he-here…”
Kim didn’t need to be told twice; they vanished into thin air, leaving a trail of smoke, that sparkled with just the littlest hint of pink.
Chay was in Kim’s room, in his bed, as the teleportation had rendered him unconscious, not meant for anyone other than Kim.
His bright self laid against the dark blankets of the dark room; it buzzed a sense of love and fondness, that increased when Kim saw that Chay still wore the necklace, as did Kim still wear the bracelet, fiddling with it every few seconds -just like how he played with the vines and the smoothness of the petals on his bracelet, Chay would fidget with the stone pendent, tugging at it or just pressing his thumb against the ever-cold surface.
It was also Chay’s first instinct when he came back to consciousness to grab at the pendant for comfort, his sights falling upon Kim, who was seated next to him, reading an old Greek text. On his other side was a vase of flowers upon the side table -same as the petals that were always stuck to his hair.
“Kim?” He called out quietly.
Kim looked at him, closing the book and reaching to run his fingers through Chay’s hair. “Morning, sunflower.”
“Oh…I like that.” Chay admitted, blushing appearing across his cheeks.
“Yeah?” Kim breathed, moving his hand from Chay’s hair to his cheek, his touch ice-cold against the warmth, yet Chay didn’t flinch, didn’t move away. Instead he leaned into the touch, feeling comforted.
“Yeah….What happened?”
“You’re worn out from teleporting, it’ll take a day or two for you to recover enough to use your magic. You can stay here during, if you would like.”
“Thank you, I’d like to, if it’s okay.” Chay answered, reaching his own hand up to grab Kim’s, their hands held loosely.
“I’d love to have you here.”
Chay smiled, and all felt right to Kim.
“What are you reading?” Chay asked, referring to the book.
“Something boring.”
“Read it to me anyway?”
Kim smiled, and leaned against the headboard just as Chay sat up and leaned his head on Kim’s shoulder, listening to his smooth voice; urging Chay into a relaxed state.
“Love?” Chay called out when Kim paused to turn the page.
“Yes, my lovely lily?”
“Where did you get my clothes from? I wasn’t wearing this before.”
“I sent for them.”
“Oh. Thanks.” He sent Kim a grateful look, disbelief over the fact that he had such a caring boyfriend.
In the time they spent together, they actually found out a lot more about each other, deeper things that were reserved for softer nights.
Including the fact that their brothers were actually married; Kim’s second brother, Kinn, and Chay’s brother, Porsche. They never had a wedding, most likely eloped would be mortal term, and both brothers were aware of this. Kim had even contacted his oldest brother to ask if he knew the connection, and said brother, who was relaxing in Norway, had revealed that he had, it just slipped his mind.
Chay, “We should also elope.”
“Definitely.” Kim agreed.
“Hello, my sweet bluebell.” Kim greeted, finding his boyfriend in his bedroom, curled up on the bed and reading a book about poisonous plants -something he found in Kim’s personal library.
“Hi, love.” Chay greeted, beaming up at his boyfriend.
“Why is there a garden growing at the back of the mansion? I don’t remember having one. Ever.” Kim questioned, narrowing his eyes at the flower boy.
Chay chuckled nervously, “I wanted a bit of me in your house?”
“And the clothes piling in my closet, the flower petals left around random places aren’t enough?”
“Nope.”
“Huh…Cute.”
Chay blushed and hid behind the book. His boyfriend just laughed at his reaction.
“Do you like our date?” Kim asked. They were in the mortal realm, sitting side-by-side on a park bench that had a table, with pastries set in front of them, and a bouquet of flowers that Kim had picked out for his boyfriend.
“Of course! Picnics in the park is the best idea!” Chay exclaimed, hugging Kim close, burying his face against Kim’s neck.
“I’m glad.” Kim mumbled, kissing the side of Chay’s head.
“Thank you, my sweetest husband.”
“No matter, little rose.”
