Eddie's heart sinks. He scrubs his hands down his face and bites his lip so hard he tastes blood, to prevent himself from doing something stupid, like calling out for Buck or begging him to stay, after he all but dragged him out of his house. It takes a moment longer before he hears his front door open, then click closed. He let's out a breath he didn't even realize he was holding.
He stands there for what could be five seconds or five hours, either way it feels like a lifetime. He's not sure what to do with himself. He probably just ruined one of the most important relationships in his entire life because of how goddamn stupid he is. What does someone do after they ruin everything?
Or;
Buck loves Eddie, Eddie's stuck in a time loop. Everyone suffers.

"You told Maddie that you could understand Tommy being threatened by what we have," Eddie says slowly. "So I just wondered what that is?"

Summary
Being in love with another man isn't always cute, romantic, or soft. Sometimes it's Eddie Diaz being sick with viral bronchitis and repeatedly shoving his boyfriend's face away because Buck apparently has no concept of personal space or self-preservation.
Because despite knowing perfectly well that Eddie is contagious, Buck keeps trying to kiss him.
Eddie is beginning to question whether he fell in love with a firefighter or a particularly affectionate idiot.
Update: Buck got bronchitis. Everyone is shocked. Absolutely no one could have predicted this.
