Chapter Text
This was Huey's worst nightmare
He would have never imagined this. Never in a million years
As the oldest triplet, he had always promised his brothers, and to an extent himself, that they would always be together. That nothing could tear them apart and that he would protect them no matter what.
Right now, Huey was failing at that as he watched his brothers be taken away from him by Social Services
Everything just seem to happen all at one time
It started like any other adventure with their family. Unfortunately, things when horribly wrong when everyone but the triplets felled down into what seemed like a bottomless pit. The triplets tired calling out for their family but to no avail. To make matters worst, the structure that they were in was beginning to collapse and the triplets had to get out of there fast. Huey grabbed his brothers and ran out of there as fast as they could.
They managed to get out but not before the building was destroyed, taking their family with them. Huey stood there in horror at the wreckage. Soon, his eyes were filled with tears and he hugged his two little brothers close to him, who were also sobbing.
That adventure was a week ago.
Huey knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before word got around about their family's death. Huey also knew that Child Services would be coming soon since they were now technically orphans.
Huey wanted to believe that the three of them would stay together but Huey knew better. No one would want all three of them. They were too much of a handful together.
Which is why Huey would do whatever it took to make sure that they stayed together. He couldn't lose Dewey and Louie. They were all he had left.
They spent a week in hiding. They made sure to make the mansion look somewhat abandoned and they tried to not make too much noise (easier said then done for Dewey). The three of them were practically glued at the hip, never leaving each other's side and sleeping together on one of the bunks.
The first night after the adventure, Dewey and Louie were scared out of their minds. Like Huey, they knew that it would be a matter of time before they were taken away. Possibly separated from each other. Dewey and Louie just held on to the hope that Huey promised them. That he would never let anything happen to them and that he wouldn't let them be taken from him. Not if he had anything to say about it. The three of them fell asleep crying and holding on to each other.
Sadly, them being in hiding didn't last long
They were eventually found by the police and Child Services
That morning was one of the worst mornings of Huey's life. He heard the sirens instantly and he looked out the window to see police cars coming up the hill. He quickly ordered Dewey and Louie to their bedroom. Huey made sure that everything was secure before following them. They made their way into their closet and Huey shushed them to be quiet. Dewey and Louie held on to their older brother and Huey brought his little brothers close to him, not willing to let them go and give up so easily.
Unfortunately, the police were very tactical and their hiding spot was soon revealed.
The boys were lead outside but still held on tightly to each other.
Huey saw someone approach them and he got in front of his brothers. If they wanted his brothers, they were going to have to get through him first.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Dewey and Louie grab on to him and he whispered to them, "It's ok guys. Stay close to me".
The person that approached them told them that she was part of Child Services and that the three of them would be put into foster care. "Would we be staying together?" Louie quietly asked from behind Huey. The lady sighed. "I'm afraid not little one" she said softly.
All of the triplets' eyes got big. "Why not?" Dewey demanded, now feeling a bit braver and getting angry. Huey was honestly feeling the same way. "Believe me we tried our best to find someone to take all three of you but were unsuccessful. But we did find three individual families that would take each of you" the lady said, trying to sound calm and comforting.
Huey was feeling none of that. The three of them were going to be separated. This was his worst nightmare.
"Now the three of you say goodbye to each other and I will send each of you off with your own agent" she said, pointing to three people standing in front of three different vehicles.
Huey turned to his brothers. They were both scared and were on the verge of tears. Huey could feel his own tears spilling over and his heart breaking. A life without Dewey and Louie was no life at all. They were triplets. No one should be force to separate them but yet here they were. Huey knew that there was no other option and he hated it.
Huey brought his brothers in for a very tight hug and his brothers squeeze him back tightly. Huey knew that this would be the last hug that he would ever give to his brothers and he didn't want to let go, not when he could feel their tears and both of them sobbing for Huey to let them take them away and for them to not be separate.
Huey tried to reassure them as best as he could, saying that everything was going to be ok and that they will find each other again someday. None of them believed it for a second.
The boys broke from the hug and Huey gave each of them a kiss on the forehead. "I love you boys so much. I love you two more then anything" Huey said through his tears. Dewey and Louie couldn't take it anymore and ran up to Huey again. "We love you too Hue. You are the best big brother ever" both of them said sobbing once again into his shirt. Huey held them close for the final time. "And you two are the best little brothers in the whole world. No one can ever take your place".
The boys would have stay like that forever if they weren't forced to break up their hug. Huey watched sadly as Dewey and Louie were taken away from him, both of them in tears calling out Huey's name and pleading for Huey to not let them be separated.
All Huey could do was look on with tears in his eyes and convey as much love and comfort to his little brothers as he could.
The last thing that Huey heard before getting into the car was the desperate pleas from his little brothers, who he would probably never see again. In that moment, Huey broke down and just prayed that this nightmare would end.
