Chapter Text
“Mama… peanuts,” Anya’s sleepy plea for her favorite snack prompted Yor to ruffle her hair gently, smiling as the little girl curled into the touch even more. She had all but folded herself around Yor’s hand, holding it tightly as she went off into sleep.
“I’m sure you can have some peanuts after supper, Miss Anya,” Yor told her quietly, “though I don’t think your father is up for cooking.”
Yor chuckled softly to herself as she looked down, Loid sprawled out beside her, his head resting softly on her chest as he slept. He had wanted to lie in his room, but furious insisting on Anya’s part had him tentatively resting beside Yor as she sat on the couch reading. Ten minutes later, after asking Yor quietly what book she was reading, and a mumbled ‘I enjoyed that one’ once she told him, he had rested his head on her chest and went to sleep as promptly as Anya had.
He looks so carefree like this as if he does not have any care or worry in the world. He always looks so stressed, but when Miss Anya forces him to rest, his face relaxes and his muscles loosen. Hmm, he’s even kind of cute like this! I will allow my husband to use me as a pillow, this is the role a loving wife shall play, and I will continue to do so!
Yor startled as Loid made a slight noise, a mix of a sigh and a groan, and shifted positions; his cheek now fully pressed against her bust.
Oh my god, he’s so close- his nose is right between my breasts! This is hardly appropriate- wait, we’re married- I haven’t even seen him shirtless, let alone in such an intimate moment! Gah, what do I do? Do I let him sleep? He’s obviously tired, but if he wakes up with his face on my breast, he will be mortified! Should I move him to my lap? If I do, that might wake him up and then he’ll be embarrassed since I’M Embarrassed!!
Yor grabbed Loid as he slipped off the couch, his arm and leg dangling from the edge. Quickly, she scooted him closer to her and made sure his long limbs were in no danger of falling off. That surely wouldn’t have been a graceful way of waking up.
“Nooo … let ‘m sleep,” he mumbled, almost to himself. If Yor hadn’t been used to his soft voice, she would’ve missed it.
“Sorry dear, you were about to fall off. Miss Anya has to be your daughter, she sleeps the same way you do!” Yor giggled as Anya flipped over onto her back, snoring loudly. She had indeed sprawled herself the same way Loid had, cheek smushed against Yor’s hand and mumbling to herself in her sleep.
Loid grumbled something that was lost to anyone but himself, going back to sleep as Yor rubbed gentle circles on his back.
“I’ll order food from the restaurant down the street tonight. I know Anya likes it, and the soup helps settle your stomach. Yes, that sounds much nicer than me cooking,” Yor told herself. “But I will do it later. Best to let you sleep for now.”
