Work Text:
The day you met Alfred was snowing.
You had forgotten your coat and had to run to the nearest building which was a diner about to close. And there he was. Looking as radiant as the sun with that golden hair and those ocean eyes that drove you crazy.
You found yourself amazed by the stranger’s beauty, and he seemed to notice you were looking at him.
“Do you have your library card? You need it to check me out” he said in a flirty tone causing you to turn away in embarrassment.
“I’m just kidding.” He laughed it off and gave you a sweet smile. “The name’s Alfred, I’ll tell you my last name if you promise you’ll use it.”
You started going more to that diner just to see him there, eating his usual cheeseburger along with some fries and a soda.
And every time, he would crack bad pick up lines for you to laugh and blush.
You started sitting together.
One in front of the other, you were on your laptop normally and he would say pick up lines to you.
That was your usual dynamic but you couldn’t help but want to take the next step.
The day was cold, the music playing on the diner relaxed both of you as you prepared for your daily dosis of pick up lines.
“Are you from Tennessee?” He began “Because you’re the only ten I see.”
You laughed. Boy how he loved that laugh of yours.
“Your license should get suspended for driving me crazy” He spoke again.
Your cheeks getting warm despite the freezing weather you were having
“On a scale of one to America, how free are you tonight?”
“1776 for you” you answered.
The night arrived.
“Baby It’s Cold Outside” started to play.
That song reminded you of Alfred.
All the flirting in the song matched his style perfectly.
You were finishing your work, confused by how Alfred hadn’t said anything to you, he just sat there with his head resting on his arms, looking at you; patiently waiting for you to finish so he could take you out.
“You’re really quiet” You spoke “No more pick up lines today?”
“Nah. I’ll let Bublé take care of that; right now I just wanna look at you”
You finished your work and walked with him towards the door.
He stopped you before you could step out.
“Take my jacket, it’s cold outside.” He said while putting his jacket over your shoulders.
You got inside it slowly, feeling how warm and soft it was
“Go on, feel my jacket. It’s made of boyfriend material.” He said making you burst out in laughter.
He stayed still, seeing your face shining before him.
“I like you. A lot.” He said in a gentle tone.
You decided to be the one to take the next step.
The day you kissed Alfred was snowing.
