Worlds of Repetition

Summary:

A curious lady obsessed with literature, she gets a wish of hers from a Purple Genie granted and what exactly it is? A mouthful one for sure, traveling storyline to storyline for her own amusement. Though something goes wrong at point in midst of her curiosity of each story.

Notes:

Recommended to read Swayteries, as this is a prequel to its sequel, just only provided to expand on what's roughly gonna happen. And it'll also mention one character from there, unless you wanna jump right into this instead of reading it then I'm not stopping you.

Work Text:

There lived once an ordinary humanoid creature, appearance consisting of pointy and rather unusual ears and of feminine appearance, who grew tired of their usual life, and thought it was getting repetitive. However, a purple genie overheard such creature's thoughts and showed up at where they live, he was of extraordinary appearance, wearing a hat complimenting the design overall and 90s punk shirt. "Well, what do we have here? Certain someone who's grown tired of their usual life, I can help you with that if it's something you ever wish for" The purple genie then politely introduced himself "name's Galilo, quite a infamous genie known for fixing up people's wishes to change their life, though as of recent, it seems like requests for such life changes have significantly decreased and I'm in a sort of desperate situation here", The humanoid creature, sitting in their chair, looked confused at first but then answered "Galilo, huh? I've heard a few things here or there about you, and not exactly very nice things from what I know. Name's Omeloi Tearie, or Omeloi for short" Omeloi, which revealed to be a woman, then continues her talk "If anything, I would live to live in a world where fictional stories come to life and I get to travel between them with ease, like a overly powerful being leading over such world", Galilo then looked at Omeloi, with a skeptical expression on his face "Is that wish final or you're willing to change the aspect of it? Since a wish is always final, or atleast that's how they say it in the world's genie book." Galilio shrugs, while making sure Omeloi can always change bits of her wish and make it final, she stands there for 2 minutes while already standing up from her chair, deeply in thought of her wish. Does she truly want to live in a dream becoming a reality paradise? Or would she spend the rest of her life, living the usual life that everyone else, always accustomed and exerted to, with that in mind however. She thinks of this for a minute and 2 minutes after actually, and she says, with confidence "I've made my wish and it's final!" with that, the genie snapped his fingers and she's then brought into one of her favorite books that she always liked reading, a world of adventure, mystery, landscape consisting of all green and flowery, it's all she's seen before with the fantasy genre, and the fact she can warp to another story on a whim, means that she's practically a cosmic traveler than of any ordinary ones before her.
She takes a trip there, or there, story to story, genre to genre and including sub-genres. Meeting all kinds of characters in shape or meaningful sizes along with charming personalities that makes it even better than the ones on books or digitally, and she makes the best of efforts to this new and established traveling paradise of her own, with that said and done. The same purple genie named Galilo comes to check on how she's doing from her bountiful wish "How's the whole story hopping, going on?" curiously asks the genie, "It's been fun, though there's something that's starting to annoy me and it shows," she notes "care to follow?"
The genie nods, with that. Omeloi leads the genie to a story where it's just a cosmic background covering the entire landscape "This is what I mean. Is this the effect of the infinite possibilites, perhaps?" she curiously asks while Galilo shrugs "Hmm, no real idea other than maybe you've reached the breaking point of the whole story hopping. Like an integer limit in a Cassetie computer" he remarks. While Omeloi ponders along with the genie, something sparkles in the boundless cosmic background. Both notice this and the genie asks what that could be. "As far as I'm concerned, from the things I've read in sci-fi. When something sparkles in the void, or in this case, the cosmic background in this story, it's bad news. I think we should leave before it-" Before she could finish, the place shakes despite having no defined gravity in question and the two get slingshotted around like tennis balls. "Wha-What was that? I hope it's not what you meant by 'bad news' with that background as the landscape" Genie asks, though no given answer as Omeloi teleports her and Galilo, away from that place to something less chaotic. The two relax for a bit on what just occurred there and Omeloi now wonders to herself, how can physical stories like the ones she's been traveling, such limits where they become some kind of manifestation in a form of a void. The genie however wonders more if this could be the start of an end and this is only being something deeper and much like a rabbithole. Omeloi relaxes, while Genie studies more into the nature of this place's landscape and about 5 minutes later he, Galilo, finds something that is beyond grief and shock for him. "Hey! I found something, whatever your name is again. That I want to tell you more to a form of a whisper" Galilo calls after her and Omeloi arrives to listen in, to what he discovered. After half a minute of whispers and responses in a form of back and forth turn. Omeloi now has the expression of worry, but curiosity. The things she was told by him, is that this entire story and the line of stories was always under a threat of cosmic void manifestation, this became more pronounced because of a deity, made by someone long ago, and now it's causing distortion to time, like time skips in certain areas of the universe or advanced time travel portals, potential for more danger to spill or whatever it might be. "I don't know the full extent of this issue but it seems like this deity has something more than just time distortion or quantum physics gone wrong, the details are fuzzy at best" He remarks, while looking into the distance as if he's muttering to himself. "I've read some very similar stories to these, it reminds me of deities who threaten time that'll usually pretend to be innocent until they show their true colors or just straight up villains” Omeloi adds to what he's said. Galilo smugs at her little confidence in what she knows about stories but decides not to wit her with anymore comments, especially the last time he visited her in these lines of stories. Then, a sound of something looms just behind the duo and they both turn to see the same time travel portals that Galilo mentioned earlier and was studying what exactly was happening. "Well, I suppose it's our chance to stop this madness, then?" He says pointing to the portal, while Omeloi sprints towards it and he follows after. The portal in question is of an electric blue, glowing an ominous light while a wormhole like sight is on the portal's own appearance. "Omeloi, don't you want to say goodbye to these line of stories, if you decide that what you had, is enough?" Omeloi nods no to Galilo's question, he sighs and she shortly after jumps in and Galilo follows after. After which the portal they entered now disappears and they both end up on the other side, to some kind of dimensional bridge, with the view of space visible above, connecting these ominous portals, though they wouldn't know until they see a very dark figure, standing just opposite of where the duo stands. "Hello stranger, are you or not aware of these time distortions in space? Because it looks like it's an issue in my place and this genie here has told me that-" She tries to say more but the stranger, while revealing more of who they are, speaks up. They are a man with similar blond hair to appearance, a character that Omeloi knows well from myths, that the city she lived in or used to, that made them. The very infamous mix of murderer and detective type who had a trio of his own, defeating the greater evil than anything at the time. "Nice to meet you, Omeloi and Galilo. Now you might be surprised that I know the two of your names but it's because I've been hearing echoes to the two of you throughout the entire universe and I was expecting to meet the both of you, in these all circumstances though. I wasn't expecting to meet you in this ominous place that is the Umelita bridge." He explains while also introducing himself a bit "Name's Marikous or you could call me Mariko. Whichever"
Both Galilo and Omeloi stand there in shock. Omeloi's shock turns to excitement since she knows about him from those myths "I thought you weren't real as my city myths claim to be, WOAH!" She jumps up and down while the bridge barely is dent or moved by her jumping. "It seems like you're quite an enthusiast about those myths. It is true with some of those myths, though I'd like to mindfully debunk some of them if you're going into that territory" He reminds, she then asks a few myths that she can recall. He debunks or confirms some of them "Anyways, introduction aside. I thought I'd show why it's been that case of me becoming a myth--" He gestures "you'll see why soon" and so, the duo followed Marikous that lived on as a myth, now a legend.
