Chapter Text
“Max, do you have a bandana or a ski mask or something?”
The question seemed innocent enough at the time. To be honest, they probably should’ve thought through what they were doing by giving Max’s mask from an old Halloween costume to Eddie “my plan are most likely illegal” Munson, but they didn’t. So here they were, breaking into an RV through a window that was hardly large enough to fit a cat.
“Okay everyone, quicker, quicker, quicker please!” Eddie whispered being the first one in.
“Sorry, we don’t have much practice illegally breaking into recreational vehicles,” Steve replied, falling onto the floor with a soft thud, not nearly large enough to be noticeable from the outside.
“Was that a dig on my life choices, Harrington?”
“Oh, absolutely. Maybe if you had shorter hair, people wouldn’t have believed you were a serial killer.”
To some people, that would’ve felt like an insult and nothing more, but to them, the sour remarks were more of a way to bond than anything. As Eddie wouldve said, “It’s just bantah mate, innit?” in one of the not-so-rare times a random British accent slips out.
“Shut up and just come up here,” Eddie replied, walking to the front of the RV. “This is your lesson on hotwiring.”
“What? My lesson? I’m not doing that.”
“You are driving, right?”
Nancy chimes in at this, “Under no circumstances is Eddie driving.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m driving.”
“And it does make sense for the person driving the vehicle would start the vehicle, yeah?”
“I mean that’s how it typically goes.”
“Then this is no different. Here, move over,” he said, showing Steve what to do while telling him how to do it. “First, you pop that shit off, grab that shit, yank it, pull that thing, rip that shit off, make them kiss, and there you go.” By the end of his whole “presentation” the RV was started, though Steve has no clue how Eddie managed to do it.
“Okay guys, we’re going to need to get a move on here,” Robin said, peeking at the owners of the vehicle they were currently in the process of stealing.
“Does everyone have their seatbelts on?” Steve asked.
“There are no fucking seatbelts, just go!” Nancy said, already stressing.
And Steve goes. Infact, he fucking floors it. Eddie lets out a noise of apprehension, his eyes going wide. He manages to get out of the neighborhood only hitting three curbs, which admittedly, is less than he thought he would manage.
“Okay everyone! What’s the fucking plan? Where the hell am I taking you all?” Steve asks, trying to speak over the sound of his passengers’ shrieks, barely managing it.
“First things first, mate. I’m gonna need you to slow the fook down, bruv,” Eddie shouted, British accent caused by the sheer stress of the moment. Everyone in the RV was jerked forward from the quick release of pressure from the gas pedal, yet they were still going over the speed limit.
“Okay everyone! Plan time! Let’s get planning!” Steve said, fear still present in his voice.
“Weapons,” Nancy spoke up. “Whatever we’re doing, we’re going to need weapons.”
“Oh, of course you would want to get weapons,” Erica snarked, moving around the vehicle, trying to find somewhere comfortable to sit.
“And where would we even get them?” Dustin spoke up.
“You know, that one weapon place full of weapons.”
“And you want me, the target of a city-wide manhunt to just waltz in?” Eddie asked while Steve slammed on the brakes, jolting Eddie straight towards the front of the RV, as he was the only one that was still standing.
“No,” Nancy continued, choosing to ignore Eddie’s antics, accidental or not. “You would stay in here. We would only take like half an hour at most.”
“Yeah, why not. What’s the worst that could happen?” Eddie somewhat retorted and somewhat said seriously.
“Was that sarcastic? Because I have to turn if that’s not sarcastic,” Steve said, panic still remaining in his voice.
“ TURN!” both Nancy and Eddie said at the same time. Everyone was whipped around, Lucas somehow ending up on the floor as Steve took the sharpest right turn you could imagine.
