Summary
Damian has tried to kill Tim a fair number of times, but all that is pretty far behind them now. Ever since Dick decided that Jason and Damian were going to kiss and make up, he’s been thinking of Tim more often. Looking at Tim more closely.
It felt like a matter of time before this happened, and Damian is relieved, if he’s honest with himself. Like he’s been holding his breath, and now he can let it go and relax. Tim is breaking apart in a way that speaks to too many things Damian doesn’t want to think about.
Tim has always hated himself— Dick coming back like this and wanting Damian, and Jason, but not Tim can’t have gone well up in the mire of those thoughts. He runs on caffeine, adrenaline, and self-loathing and nobody, nobody, has ever chosen him. First pick, that one is mine, Timothy fucking Drake. Once, it gave Damian peace.
Now it makes him feel sick.
