Work Text:
Pran hurriedly climbed onto his bed and opened his phone to call Pat. It has been a tiring day and he needs to talk to his rest.
Pran's brows furrowed when the phone just keeps ringing, it's very unusual because Pat usually answers on the first ring, always. Pran looked at the time and Pat should be in bed now too.
He ended the call when it got to voicemail and sent Pat a text.
Pran 22:36
Pat?
He waited for a reply, but five minutes in and still nothing from the guy. Another unusual behaviour, Pat never fails to reply to his messages, no matter how busy he is.
Pran 22:42
Maybe you've fallen asleep. I'll talk to you tomorrow then. Goodnight my Pat, I love you.
As soon as the door closes, Pran hastily dropped his things on the couch and called Pat. His heart was pounding loudly on his chest as it rings.
Unlike last night, Pat finally answers, but on the fifth ring.
Something is really wrong.
Pat's face showed up on screen and Pran sigh in relieve upon seeing him.
"Hi." He greeted, sitting on the recliner.
"Hi." Pat said back tiredly.
"How are you? How's your day?" Pran ask, still enthusiastic. He can feel something is wrong and it's scaring him.
"It was so-so. How's your day?" Pat asks, but with the tone of his voice, it feels like he doesn't really want to know.
"Pat, what's wrong?" He finally asks.
Pat looked away from the screen and rubbed his face. The longer he stayed silent, the more Pran's stomach knot painfully.
"Did something happened? Talk to me." Pran said in a pleading voice.
"I'm tired." Pat exhales.
"Did you overworked yourself again? Pat, you keep on telling me not to stress myself at work, but here you are doing the same thing." Pran chuckles. "Let's take it e-"
"No Pran. I'm tired." Pat said, a hint of annoyance in his voice. That suprises Pran and his nervousness just increased ten folds.
Tired of what? Please tell me it's not what I think it is. Pran thought.
"I'm tired of this set up." Pat confirmed his suspicions. Pran's heart dropped to his feet. "Talking to you on the phone, an hour or less a day is not enough anymore. I miss you. I want to hug you and kiss you when I get home after a long tiring day, I want to cuddle you to sleep, because that always takes my burden away." Pat wiped his tears away.
Pran tightened his grip on his phone as he stared at Pat on the other side of the screen. There was never a day where he never misses Pat, because that's just impossible. He understands Pat, because he feels the same way. Coming home to an empty apartment, no Pat waiting for him is depressingly lonely.
"Pat."
"One week Pran." Pat cut off what he was about to say. "Give me one week."
Space. Pat is asking him for a space.
With a heavy heart, he nodded. "O-okay. Take all the time you need." Pran swallowed the lump in his throat. "I love you Pat."
"I love you more." Pat replied and the call ended.
Pran dropped his phone on the floor and let out a sob.
Before coming to Singapore, Pran already made a list of the pros and cons and all the cons involves Pat and their relationship. Will it survive? Can they handle it? He believes so.
Clearly, he overestimated theirselves. It was such a naive thinking that just because they're Pat and Pran, that they can handle everything with ease.
One week felt like eternity and it was killing Pran. He couldn't have a proper sleep, couldn't eat properly as he thinks about Pat. Pat who hadn't called or send him a message aside from a simple 'hi' and 'hello'.
Three days ago, he messaged Paa and asked her how her brother is doing, giving an excuse that he only asked her because Pat would never admit to Pran that he's tired.
Paa told Pran that Pat has been out of town almost everyday, taking projects after projects. His friends also complaining how Pat never hangs out with them anymore.
That only made Pran worry even more.
It's been a week and Pran paced back and forth in his apartment, checking his phone from time to time.
If Pat won't call him tonight, he'll pack his things and fly back to Thailand right away. The clock ticks and so is his patience.
Pran 23:13
Hey Jake, I'm going back to Thailand tomorrow. Can you handle the project on your own?
Jake 23:15
What!? Pran! You can't do this to me man! This is our biggest project, you just warned me last week not to do anything that could jeopardize it, and now you're saying to handle it on my own?
Pran 23:16
I need to take care of something more important than that fucking project.
Pran ignored Jake's call and went to his bedroom. He pulled out his suitcase under the bed and shove clothes inside, screw neatly folded clothes, who the hell has time for that? Pran doesn't.
He closed the suitcase and drag it outside his room. He picked up his phone and house keys.
Pran opened the front door the same time Pat was about to knock.
They both froze and just stared at each other.
"Pran."
"Pat." Pran said breathlessly. "W-what are you doing here?"
"I told you to give me a week." Pat replied. "I tried to finish my latest project as soon as possible, did overtime the whole week so I could take a holiday off and come here. To you."
"I thought you were asking for space!" Pran exclaimed.
"Why would I need space?" Pat frowned.
"Because you said you were tired Pat!" Pran said in frustration. He was so scared that he could lose Pat and he couldn't have that, not Pat. Only for this idiot to appear in front of him, in his apartment in Singapore.
Pat Napat Jindapat. How did he fell head over heels in love with this man?
"Yes I was tired of the situation we were in Pran. I was tired of missing you and not doing anything about it." Pat said and put down his luggage. "That is not a Napat Jindapat behaviour."
Pat stepped closer to Pran and held his hand. "I get tired of everything from time to time, but there's one thing I will never get tired of, and that's you Pran. I will never get tired of you."
Pran bit his bottom lip, eyes watering. "I-I really thought"
"I'm sorry I handled the situation like that. You know how I am sometimes." Pat smiled. "I'm sorry baby."
Pran shook his head before hugging Pat. "You're here."
"I'm here." Pat said, kissing Pran's shoulder.
Pran leaned back slightly and look at Pat. "How long?"
"One month." Pat smiled widely.
"One month." Pran repeated. He too smiled widely before kissing Pat happily.
---
Pat leaned on the bed rest, his hands on either side of Pran's hips, as the latter straddles him. They're both breathless as they just recently finished doing extracurricular activities.
Pran held Pat's face and stares. "I miss you so much."
Pat smiled and kiss Pran's wrist. "I miss you so much more." He said before leaning in and sniff Pran's neck.
Pran moaned lowly as the movement made Pat's dick pushed even deeper inside him. Pran felt him getting hard again and instinctively, Pran grind his hips making them release a shaky sigh.
Pat look up at Pran as his hold on his hips tightened, helping him move. "Pran?"
"Hmm?"
"Should I move here?" Pat asks, making Pran's eyes snap open and look down at Pat. "I don't think one month would suffice."
Pran chuckles and kiss Pat's forehead. "No need. I'm going back to Thailand with you."
"Really?"
Pran nodded. "My contract is ending and I have no plan on renewing it." Pat's eyes sparkles. "I want to be where you are Pat. Two years away from each other is enough."
"I love you my Pran."
"I love you too my Pat."
Fin.
