Chapter Text
The night Yveine was born there was no moon. The sky was only lit by the stars, each pinprick of light particularly bright as if the sky itself was leaning forward in expectation.
The moment Ayla first held her daughter and looked at her small blue face speckled with star-like freckles there was a familiar feeling deep in her chest. A sense that the person she was looking at was someone that the fabric of fate was woven around.
Yveine opened her violet eyes, eyes so similar to Ayla’s save for the whites being a familiar deep almost blackish blue. “My precious evening star “ Ayla whispered, gently touching her daughter’s cheek. “If only your father was here to see you.”shutting her eyes the moonshadow elf could almost see it.
There would be a shift in the wind as a figure appeared in the doorway lit by the starlight. He would stride in, each step graceful and full of power.
“Your daughter” Ayla would announce proudly, eyes shining with tears as she presented him with the small infant.
Aaravos took her into his arms, his usual smirk overflowing with pride. “A perfect heir you did well my moonflower.”
Ayla opened her eyes and the scene vanished, he was not there. He was locked away out of her reach. She looked down at Yveine “ one day, one day you’ll meet him I promise.”
That night the stars twinkled in delight.
