Summary
Charles and Erik broke up three months ago, and now they’re both trying to move on. It would be easier if Erik would actually move to Genosha and if Charles stopped trying to help, but neither of them is any better at letting go than they are at compromise.
Besides, Erik suspects he doesn’t know everything about their break up, and the only way to find out is by getting Charles to open up.
Are you ever willing to admit you need help?" Erik furrowed his brow, mouth pressed into a thin line as he stared at Charles. He sensed concern rising up beneath his fondness, barely concerned and heady, as though it had been there from the start. He stiffened and straightened up his spine, meeting Erik's gaze with a pointed one of his own.
Charles might allow Erik to coddle him in bed, to treat him like some kind precious gift, but not outside of it. Charles Xavier spent his entire childhood making himself exceedingly competent, exceptional, and he could not bear for Erik of all people to see him as anything less.
