A scrawny boy opens up the door, met by a goliath that stood far taller than him. Kel, his first friend was like an umbrella that blocked the sun, he already wanted to groan from years of height missed out on.
All things considered this was pretty fun, being dragged about by Kel and made to do physical activity was not however. Either way they had picked up a cookbook for Hero and were now walking back, Kel had wanted to stop by the park they all used to play at because he wanted to spend time with Sunny. When they got there however they were met by unexpected wailing from the blonde flower boy known as Basil.
Something about him made Sunny feel uncomfortable, he didn’t want to look at nor spend time around him if possible. Hopefully Kel doesn’t do something like offer to walk him home. Kel had just started a fight with some red-glasses girl with a shaved side.
Before Sunny knew it a pink haired girl had come in on her bicycle, was that the same girl who cycled past them earlier? “Oh. Hey Aubrey…” the glasses girl speaks, Sunny is taken aback as he hears the girls name. His mouth was left agape for a moment until Kel called his name, startling him.
“Sunny’s here?” She starts, looking a little shocked herself. “Wow. It really is you. How long has it been, three years? Four years?” She scoffs, Sunny can already hear slight regret in her words… he can see what’s happening here.
All of a sudden a fight broke out between the two, Kel had been knocked out quickly as Sunny had defended. He didn’t really wanna fight Aubrey… When the girl turns her head towards him he feels afraid as she prepares a headbutt. As she brought her head down he caught it in one hand.
“Sorry Aubrey. I really didn’t want to do this.” He starts, his throat a little hoarse from misuse. Before Aubrey can properly react he scoops the pinkette up in his arms.
“S-Sunny, w-what’re you doing!?” Aubrey crumbled apart as she’s been successfully disabled, she can’t move away from him now. Just as Sunny expected, her tough girl persona wasn’t as real as he first thought it was.
“You’re on time out.” He replies, bringing one hand up to place against her head. “You’re coming with me.” He smirks.
Aubrey tried to retort by lightly punching him in the back, Sunny was well aware of the pouting face she was currently making but a kiss to her neck got her to stop. Her body lightly shaken from unexpected affection. Over the past few years Sunny had a lot of time to think about their history, obvious signs he couldn’t see as a kid. He was unsure if Aubrey felt the way she did so he was taking a gamble, he was just happy it turned out well.
Kel lifted himself off the groan, holding his head as he reeled in pain. If he lost any more of his brain he’d be dangerous. “Sunny, what are you doing holding Aubrey like that!?”
Sunny thinks for a second before responding. “Sorry about my wife, guys. I’m sure you know how she gets when she’s angry.” Sunny can feel Aubrey hide her face into his neck. “If you don’t mind me, we’re going home. I’m tired.” and with that Sunny continues to hold his ‘wife’ as he walks away.
“Um- Okay!? I’ll come pick you two up tomorrow!” Kel waves, before turning back to Basil. “Welp. I don’t know what just happened!”
…
Sunny took one of his arms off of Aubrey to open up the door to his house, oh right… It's still dark.
“Sunny… you can let me down now… this is so embarrassing.”
“Hm?” Sunny closes the door behind them before making his way upstairs, still carrying Aubrey. He unknowingly steps on a spider as he talks. “Nah. You’re very cute like this, I love the pink hair. I’m sorry I haven’t been there for you the past four years and for that reason I’m not letting go of you now.”
Aubrey just melts into his touch as he opens the door into his bedroom and walks inside. “Do you really mean it? I’ve changed so much…”
“Of course I mean it. I love you as much as I always have. You’ve probably had it bad at home over the past four years and for that I’m sorry… let me take care of you now. A nice bed to sleep in, maybe we can go out and eat something nice tomorrow too, who knows.” Sunny gently lets Aubrey down onto his bed before getting in with her, looking at her with a smirk when he sees her now unhidden crimson face.
“You’re so mean.” She pouts, moving close to him again just to hide her face.
Sunny just kisses her on the forehead before putting his arms around her. Closing his eyes as they both fall asleep.
