Erased?

Summary:

Aizawa always knew he had a rare quirk. The power to erase other quirks. A quirk that evens the battlefield. Like all other quirks, they each have a tell of activation. A click in the brain for mental quirks, a snap for the strength, a warmth for the fire. His is the snip of a string.

Aizawa always knew he had a rare quirk. The power to erase other quirks. A quirk that evens the battlefield. Like all other quirks, they each have a tell of activation. A click in the brain for mental quirks, a snap for the strength, a warmth for the fire. His is the snip of a string. He always feels the snip when he aims his quirk at another. The only times he doesn’t feel this is if the target does not have a quirk factor to affect. He's only encountered it once. A quirkless person. He’s never had the string fail to snip on a quirked person. That's how he knows something is up with the mystery that is Izuku Midoriya.

Every year he does the same quirk apprehension test to evaluate his students. To see who doesn't belong, and who does. He’s had to expel more than 7 students for the past 6 years. Last year he expelled his whole class. There are a few students this year that he isn’t too sure of.  Minoru Mineta, Kaminari Denki, Bakugou Katsuki, Midoriya Izuku, Ashido Mina, and Aoyama Yuuga.

Once everyone gets to the field, he starts. He explains what they’ll be doing, and tells them how last place will be expelled. He watches over each student and how they do for each test. He sees the students use their quirks to pass each test. The only student that doesn’t use their quirk is Midoriya Izuku.

He knows his quirk is unstable and untrained. He knows those types. They think they can get in since they have such a flashy and powerful quirk. He knows who he’s expelling after all of this. He calls Midoriya up to throw the ball. He sees Midoriya pull his arm back, about to break it and have to quit.

Without warning he erases the problemsome quirk. The ball doesn’t go far and lands weakly. He doesn’t notice the ball. He only notices that he doesn’t feel the string snip. Pushing it aside to deal with later, he tells the problemsome child how he won’t make it as a hero, that he’ll just be a burden on the field.

He releases his quirk, allowing the kid to complete his throw. What he sees makes him reconsider the expulsion of the green haired child. The kid throws the ball, but only breaks his index finger. The kid looks at him, determination in his eyes. This kid might just make it.
