Summary
After a fallout with his domineering father, Jared gives up his career as a criminal defense attorney to become a ranger at the Adirondacks Park. Discontented, he lives in virtual isolation in a remote cabin near Blue Mountain Lake with only his hound for company. While hunting, Jared accidentally shoots a sleeping hiker and provides first aid until medical care arrives. Unable to forget the stranger, he visits him in the hospital and immediately notices Jensen is restless and anxious, seemingly running from something. Or is it someone? Inexplicably drawn to him and to make amends, Jared does the unthinkable and invites Jensen to his home to recover from the accident. Neither of the men believes in love, but their irrefutable bond and mutual attraction quickly develop into them becoming friends with benefits.
