Chapter Text

As I stepped out of the drive-in with Two-Bit and my girlfriend at my side I had one thing on my mind. What am I supposed to tell her parents?

My girlfriend, Lydia , has insanely strict parents. It took hours of Lydia begging and promising to get her parents to let her go to the drive-in with me. Two-Bit just happened to be there. Besides that Lydia is drunk. She’s not black-out but shoot you can tell. I think Two-Bit gave her a few or something.

“Y/n,” She gasped, “I think I’m gonna be sick.”

She pushed off of me and started hurling on the grass next to us.

She stopped puking and stumbled towards me. I caught her before she fell and helped her walk home.

We were a block away from her house and she had to throw up again.

She hid herself behind a garbage can and threw up.

“Two-Bit, I don’t think I’m gonna make it out alive.” I groaned.

“Sure you will. You have before.”

“Yeah but that time she wasn’t drunk.”

She hadn't come out from behind the garbage yet so I went to check on her. She had passed out right next to her vomit.

“Oh, Lydia.” I groaned, picking her up.

I carried her bridal style to Two-Bit and stopped.

“She got any on her?” I asked.

“Nope” Two-Bit gave me a thumbs up.

I nodded and we went on to her house. Once we reached her house Two-Bit waited outside.

I began to gently shake her and called her name.

“Lydia. Lydia. Lydia!”

I eventually shook her hard enough it woke her up.

“Huh? Y/n where are we?” She mumbled.

I set her down and helped her stand “We’re outside your house. C’mon let’s get to the door.”

We walked to her front door and she opened it with her house key.

We stepped inside and were greeted by her mom and dad glaring at us. Well me specifically.

Her mom had realized Lydia was drunk and quickly took her from me. “Oh Lydia, why did Y/n do this to you.” she whispered.

Her dad just kept glaring as her mom ushered her upstairs and to her bedroom.

“Y/n c’mere.” He said in a low voice.

I walked up to where he was standing and waited to get slapped or something.

“I’ll give you thirty seconds to explain why my daughter is drunk and late.”

“Well,” I went on to explain everything that happened as quickly as I could. I have never talked that fast in my entire life.

“So you weren’t the one who gave the alcohol to my daughter?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.

I nodded.

“I don’t believe it.”

“Sir, I swear it was my friend. I would never get Lydia drunk!”

“I don’t wanna hear it! You hoods are no good! I don’t even know why I let my daughter date you! Get out of my house!”

I huffed and walked out of the house. I could see Two-Bit waiting for me. I walked up to him and we walked home.

“So how’d it go?”

“Just as I expected. He didn’t believe me.”

“Man, I'm sorry. I didn’t know.”

“No, no, you’re fine. She’ll be fine. I’m fine.”

Two-Bit looked awful sorry about getting her drunk but he didn’t need to. It’s not his fault.

“Okay well I’ll see you tomorrow.” He said as we stopped at his house.

“Yeah.” I waved goodbye and continued walking home.

I got home and walked through the door. My mom and dad were asleep on the couch and my little brother, Lonnie, was sitting in the armchair next to them watching TV.

“Hey there Lonnie.” I whispered.

“Hey Y/n. Why you home so late?”

“Lydia got a little drunk. Her parents weren’t too happy.”

“That sucks.”

Mickey Mouse was playing on the TV. Lonnie was twelve, thirteen in a month. He still loved cartoons. I did too. Shoot, me, him, and Two-Bit watch them all together.

“C’mon turn that off and get to bed.” I patted him on the shoulder as I went to the bathroom.

“‘kay.” He said, getting up.

I brushed my teeth and got into bed.

Lonnie was in a separate room than me but he strolled in not too long after I got myself situated.

“Goodnight, love you.” he whispered.

“Goodnight, love you too. See you in the morning.” I whispered back.

He left my room and left the door open a crack. I don’t like sleeping with the door open but I was too tired to get up and close it.

“Breakfast is ready!” Mom yelled.

I heard Lonnie run into the kitchen as I stayed laying in bed.

“Y/n get up!” She yelled again.

“Okay!” I yelled back.

I got up and walked into the kitchen. I sat down next to Lonnie and started to eat my eggs. Dad was staring at me as he ate which scared me a little.

“What time did you come home?” He asked.

“Like twelve? Maybe one?”

“Okay. Lonnie, what time did you go to bed?”

“Same time as Y/n.” Lonnie replied.

“Good.”

“How was it?” My mom asked as she sat down.

“How was what?”

“Your date with Lydia? How was it?” She grinned.

My mom loved me and Lydia’s relationship. My dad was okay with it. He didn’t really care all that much. He would always just say “don’t get her pregnant” whenever I hung out with my girlfriend.

“Oh it was fine. Her dad was pretty hacked off when I got her home though.”

“Why? You’re so likable.”

“Two-Bit found us and accidentally got her drunk. He didn’t know though so I don’t care.”

“Well it wasn’t your fault, right? Why should you have to take the blame?” She said taking a bite of her bacon.

“I let it happen so yeah it’s sorta my fault.”

“It is.” My dad mumbled.

I shot him a look and went back to eating.

“I just don’t get why Lydia’s parents don’t like you.” Mom shook her head.

“Well if a hood brought my daughter home like that I would be a little mad too.” I mumbled.

“You aren’t a hood, honey.”

I’m not but I sure do seem like a hood.

“Hey mom?” Lonnie asked.

“Yes?”

“When can I get a girlfriend like Y/n?”

“Anytime Lonnie.” She smiled. “You just gotta find the right girl.”

Lonnie was a good looking kid.  He could get any girl he wanted if he tried. Once he gets to high school he’ll probably have girls flocking towards him.

I finished my food and got up to put my plate in the sink. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I looked at myself in the mirror. My stubble was coming back and my hair looked real lousy.

I left the bathroom and put on my shoes.

“Where you going?” My dad called.

“Out.” I replied.

“Take Lonnie will ya?”

“Okay.”

Lonnie got on his shoes and we started out for Soda’s. I haven’t seen him or his brothers in a while.

“Where we going?” Lonnie asked.

“Sodapop’s.”

Lonnie nodded and we kept on walking.

We got closer to Soda’s and eventually saw Two-Bit walking over.

“Hey Greaser!” I yelled.

He stopped and looked around, ready to fight a Soc.

When he saw me he started sprinting towards us.

“Lonnie get out the way.” I shooed him away.

I got ready for Two-Bit to tackle me to the ground. Once he did I laid on the ground trying to catch my breath.

“You-” I gasped. “-knocked the wind outta me.”

“Shouldn’t of called me over huh?” He said, helping me up.

“Yep.”

“Oh hey there Lonnie.” Two-Bit tousled his hair.

“Hey Two-Bit.”

“Where you two headin’?”

“Soda’s” Lonnie answered.

“Hey me too! C’mon.” Two-Bit said putting an arm around Lonnie.
