Chapter Text
I.
Xiao sat patiently in his seat waiting for Childe to arrive. He had made plans to hang out with him at Paimon Bucks until classes started. Just like always, Childe was late, so Xiao had gone on and ordered himself a black coffee and a croissant.
“A drink for Xiao?” the person at the cash register called.
Xiao stood up and walked to the pick up area looking down at his wallet to get out his debit card. By the time he made it to the counter, his card was in his hand. He looked up, and oh. Their eyes met. Blue and gold stared at each other with what could be considered curiosity, admiration. Xiao broke contact first, his eyes shooting to the name tag on his chest. “Venti”. He did not look up until he heard a silent cough.
“I- uh, um. I put an extra crossainat in the bag. Do enjoy it!” the boy smiled while sliding his coffee across the counter.
“Y-yes thank you.” Xiao had said in return. His face was burning a bright red. His heart was beating faster than his thoughts and before he could stop himself, he was already blurting out what he had been trying to hold in.
“I know this is sudden and I’m sorry if it's weird but may I get your num-” but before he could finish he was cut off by a certain redhead.
“XIAO OVER HERE”.
Xiao had turned to glare at his friend and when he turned back around, the boy was gone.

“No way in hell he was hotter than Tom Cruise Venti.” “
“You don't understand Kazuha. He had so many piercings in all of the right places. His tattoos were so fucking cool, and his hair, oh my god Kazuha his hair.”
He could not stop thinking about him. Thoughts of the man kept on coming in and spreading like some plague. Anytime Venti tried to think of something new, those soft lips and golden eyes was all he could see.
As soon as Venti got off of his shift, he got home and called up one of his close friends to rant about how pretty he was.
“Dude you're down bad and I mean down bad bad. I mean you left an extra croissant in his bag, you don't leave me any extra cake pops!”
“You don't deserve any extra cake pops Kazu. Whatever I am gonna order for dinner, see you at school.”
“Wai-!” but before the boy could finish, Venti had hung up.
It was getting closer to eight o clock. He had morning classes and the night shift. Knowing that he had not been a morning person, he got off of his bed and made his way to the kitchen.
