Work Text:

Lila didn't like Adrien. To be clear, it was the fragrance she didn't like. She tolerated the clueless boy who was just a few lies away from finally being hers.

But the fragrance? She hated it almost as much as she hated Ladybug.

Radient... carefree... dreamy... Adrien the fragrance.

If she had to listen to that ad one more time, she'd likely explode. It was like nails on a chalkboard, and every time she stepped into Gabriel fashion, she heard it playing on the televisions and in the elevators and even on the phone lines when on hold -- and she was always put on hold when she called.

She dreamed of it one night. Whispered around her like a nightmare. She woke up in a sweat, terrified by her own subconscious.

Radient... carefree... dreamy... Adrien the fragrance.

At work she held her head high, concealed her displeasure, and smiled kindly as it played. But deep inside her there was a raging anger that was roaring to get out. It grated on her nerves. It itched to scream and to destroy the image of Gabriel.

But she wouldn't be a failure. Not after she come so far. But it was slowly driving her past the brink of sanity.

Radient... carefree... dreamy... Adrien the fragrance.

"Thank you, Nathalie." Adrien smiled at the woman standing before him.

"I don't understand why you were so insistent, but marketing agreed it was good brand management. Congratulations, Adrien. On your first decision at Gabriel. I'm sure your father would be proud of your involvement in the company."

Adrien's smile widened. "Of course. One day the frangrance will be considered outdated. I just thought we could capitalize on sales more now."

Narhalie nodded. "Again. Well done, Adrien." With those words, she checked her tablet and then turned to walk away.

Adrien sighed. He hated his advertisement, but the day he found out Lila hated it was the day it became his new favorite. It had taken a little work, but he'd somehow convinced them to include it in every aspect of the company.

It was worth the torture to watch Lila slowly fall apart at the seams.
