Catching him off guard, I whipped out my arms. I wrenched myself free. I sprinted downstairs!
CLUMP, CLUMP-approaching were his footsteps, quick and heavy, which elicited a jolt in my heart.
The next split second a massive hand covered on my mouth, blocking my scream in the halfway. He pinned another hand on my waist, pulling me closer to him from behind.
趁他不备，我伸出手臂，挣脱了他，冲下楼去！
他的脚步声急促而沉重，我心里一震。
下一瞬间，一只大手捂住了我的嘴，挡住了我半道上的尖叫。他把另一只手别在我的腰上，从后面拉我向他靠近。
“Shhhh—” to my wide-eyed surprise, his voice was gentle, “Someone’s chasing us. Don’t make a noise.”
I bobbed my head nervously, tears of fear blurring my vision.
He withdrew his hand on my mouth, patted me on the head, and ruffled my hair in a soothing way. Still, he pressed me so close to him that I could hear his heartbeat.
That’s not a proper distance. Flushed, I elbowed him in the stomach, and swirled around, only to be met with his impressive aspect.
“嘘——”让我吃惊的是，他的声音很温柔，“有人在追我们。别出声。“
我紧张地不断点头，恐惧的泪水模糊了我的视线。
他收回了放在我嘴上的手，轻轻拍了拍我的头，用抚慰的方式捋了捋我的头发。尽管如此，他还是把我压得离他很近，我能听到他的心跳。
这不是一个合适的距离。我满脸通红，用胳膊肘顶着他的肚子，转来转去，却迎面看到他那令人印象深刻的面容。
“Are they still there?” Swallowing my exclamations back, I whispered to his ear.
“They have already gone.” He whispered back.
“So why didn’t you let go of me?!” Eyes red-rimmed, lips pursed, I raised my voice, wriggling in his arms.
What didn’t cross my mind was that he loosened his arms the moment I opened my mouth. He then paced a few steps back, folding his arms. He raised an eyebrow at me, “Guess.”
His hand dipped into his pocket to pick out a tiny yellow candy. With a flick of his wrist it landed in my hand.
He vanished into the darkness with a chuckle.
“他们还在吗？”把我的惊呼咽了回去，我在他耳边轻声说道。
“他们已经走了。”他低声回答。
“那你为什么不放开我？！”眼眶红红的，嘴唇撅着，我提高了声音，在他怀里扭动着。
我没想到的是，我一开口，他就松开了双臂。他抱着双臂向后踱了几步，对我挑了挑眉，“你猜。”
他把手伸进口袋，掏出一颗小小的黄色糖果。他的手腕轻轻一弹，它落在了我的手上。
他轻笑一声消失在黑暗中。
