Summary:

You used to be in high school and had a very particular power of making people laugh about everything you said. You loved this ability when you were young, since you immediately were very popular everywhere you were. But when you grew older, you started to dislike these powers.

One day, there was that one dude who always remained unaffected by this power and he was in your parallel class.

Work Text:

(4 years old)

"Hello, children! Today, there's a new child in our kindergarten group. Her name is Y/n!" The teacher announced and you entered the room. "Uh, hi! I'm Y/n and I'm new here! I hope we'll have a lot of fun!" You spoke and the kids laughed and nodded.

"Of course! Let's play lego together!" "No, I want to build a sand castle with her!" "Ok, but after you're finished I want to draw stuff with her! She seems so fun and she is black, just like me!" The children, one after the other wanted to spend time with you.

When someone was sad, it was enough for you to just ask what the issue was and the child was all cheery and happy again. When two children argued and you wanted to help them, everything was solved as soon as you just talked to them, like magic. Just what was wrong with you? You didn't complain yet, but you found it a little weird nevertheless.

You also observed some white people in your hometown, outside of kindergarten, being rude towards other black people. Why weren't they rude to you? Were they blind and thought that you were white? When you got mad and confronted them about their rudeness, they laughed and called you cute while patting your head lovingly.

What was so special about you?

(17 years old)

Time had passed by and while growing up, you also learned more about that thing that made you special. When you were around the age of 12, it finally clicked. It seemed like you had some kind of supernatural ability.

Now you were in a Japanese high school. 3 years ago, your family had to move to japan due to work issues. They were very poor and suffered behind your back. Of course with you around, they were all happy and cheery, while laughing their sorrow away. But when you hid from them and spied on them without them knowing, you often caught them being sad, distressed, or even angry. The only thing they did was fight each other when you weren't around them.

At some point, you believed that you had these powers to make them happy and avoid them from mentally hurting each other, but you didn't like this idea. You disliked the idea of forcing people to be happy in general!! Kindergarten, primary school, high school, and every person on earth got affected by this. You truly started to loathe this ability of yours. It was nothing more than annoying.

Today was a kind of special day though. Every class in the senior year had to prepare a project and present it to other classes. Your class almost got to make a cross-dressing maid Café, but you saved your class's pride by suggesting to make an escape room with topics that regarded critical issues of society. Since everyone on earth loved you for making them laugh and have fun, the class was supporting your ideas. These were some of the rare cases where you voluntarily abused your powers to get what you wanted.

"Yo, Y/n!!!" A friend of yours greeted you. It was Zolbe, a guy from one of the parallel classes that you befriended back when you couldn't speak Japanese well yet. "Hey, Zolbe." You greeted him back. Since black people didn't seem to be common in Japan, Zolbe was easy to befriend and he helped you integrate into the Japanese school life. He was chill and kind, but well of course he also was under your ability's effect. "How's your class's project going? What were you doing?" You asked him. He grinned. "We prepared a gallery consisting of stones! You will love it!" They what-

He walked ahead to your class and you didn't really want to see what they did. That sounded wacky as hell. You two entered and the world's most ugly statue stood in front of you. "You-" You were speechless and everyone laughed at your reaction. "Even Nendo-san is more handsome than this..." You noticed. Of course, everyone laughed again. "You're so funny!!"

You sighed and observed the other stones. "Is that a poop-shaped stone? Y'all can't be serious about this." You looked at the class and of course, everyone laughed again. The guys, the girls, even that one girl that had the looks of a literal angel. She also sounded like one while laughing. "Wow, L/n-san made Teruhashi-san laugh. We're in heaven...!" They noticed and kneeled in front of Teruhashi, as if they were bees worshiping their queen. What simps they were.

Wait. Your eyes focused on one guy in particular. That guy wasn't laughing?! Was he deaf? Was that the key to him not laughing?! You couldn't help but smile like a child and approach him. But he stood up and skillfully dodged you. He didn't even look at you once, so how did he know you approached him?? Why did he avoid you? You needed to find out. You needed to!

You ran out of class and searched for him. You knew that he had to be in the hallway. How has he disappeared so fast?? You looked around and focused on pink hair. He had pink hair. That bastard had pink hair, but where did he go to?! On the left was no one and on the right were guys who spied on the class, admiring Teruhashi's beauty. You turned your head to the front and discovered a window. Did that guy actually jump from the window?!

You ran towards it with full determination and broke the glass, jumping out of it. "WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU, PINK-HAIRED BOY!!!!" You yelled in full volume, frustrated and angry from his sudden disappearance. You fell down the building and towards the school's yard. Hah well is it time for you to die? You closed your eyes and sighed. At least in the afterlife, it won't be too boring since everyone will keep on laughing at everything you say. Couldn't god just spare you from-

Wait why didn't you hit the floor? You opened your eyes and looked around you. Why were you on the school's rooftop?! What the fuck?! Then you saw the pink-haired boy enter the stairwell of school and the door close. "Wait!!! Don't just leave again!!!" You called after him and sprinted towards the stairwell as well. You rashly opened the door, just to see that he disappeared again. What was happening?!

You ran down the stairs and back to Zolbe's class. As soon as you found him, you grabbed his wrist. "That pink-haired guy!!" You demanded and Zolbe blinked a few times. "Uhh, do you mean Saiki?" "Does that Saiki guy have pink hair?" He nodded and held back the laughter. "Oh god, I can't take you seriously-" "Tell me who he is and quit fucking around!!" Then he finally busted out laughing. "Oh my gooooodddd stop!!! Hahahahah the way you said that was so goddamn hilarious!!!" He screeched and rolled on the floor.

You growled and entered the class. "Omg L/n, you jumping out of the window was so hilarious!!" They all laughed and you clenched your fist. "Listen, I want to-" Everyone just laughed even more. "She's so funny!!!"

You again tried, but all you got as a response was laughter. You started to tremble and your feelings threatened to force you into crying. "Can you please stop laughing..." A tear fell from your cheek. "Hahahaha now she's crying!!! How can someone be so funny?! She's the funniest person in school!!" "I don't want to be funny!!" You screamed out but they didn't stop laughing.

You ran out of school. Why can't they stop?! All you wanted was someone who took you seriously for once!! Is that too much for you to ask?! You sat down behind the school entrance and hugged your knees while crying. You hated this. You hated this so much!!

You sighed and shook your head. There won't be any person who'd be unaffected by your ability. You needed to finally accept it. Maybe you could earn a lot of money if you start a career as a comedian? No, you didn't want this. You disliked the political system in your home country. Racism, poverty, discrimination, homophobic or transphobic people, misogyny, and the continuous pressure of education that students worldwide had to suffer, you wanted to change all of that. This was why you studied hard for school. Especially politics.

...Was your dream worthless at the end of the day? Should you just end yourself? People would laugh about your death anyway and think that it was so funny...

"Cover your eyes." Someone suddenly spoke behind you. You looked up in surprise and turned around. It was that pink-haired guy from before. You then covered your eyes with your hands and he sighed. "Not like this." He answered and you put your hands away. Usually, if you didn't understand something, people would think you were joking and laugh their asses off.

"Why aren't you laughing?" You asked and he sighed. "I'm a psychic." He answered and you smiled a little, thinking he was sarcastic. "Good one." You chuckled, but then it hit you. "Wait a minute, I just found what you said funny. Does that mean you're like me?!" "No." "That's why you wear these weird glasses! People would also laugh at what you say if you didn't!" You smiled again, completely being over your wave of sorrow. "No, I don't. You're overthinking-" You nodded and patted his shoulder. "You're a genius, dude! Thanks for the advice!!" You beamed and ran back into school.

'Did she even listen? At least she doesn't take my outing as a psychic serious.' He thought and shook his head. 'I simply got tired of her depressing thoughts and wanted her to know that she wasn't the only person with supernatural powers. Good grief, at least her thoughts sound better now. She kept on ruining my peaceful mood.' He spoke in his mind and also entered the school.

Later on, school ended and Zolbe's class won the project with their ugly statue. You walked home and decided to not enter just yet. "I want to move back to our country!" You heard your mom yell. "I also want to, but we can't! We need to stay here so that we can live a quality life and gather up money!" Your father argued back and heard your little siblings cry. "When's Y/n coming back..." They were waiting for you in front of the door... You felt your heart shatter. Your poor boys and girls suffered while you were away...

You opened the door and five tiny humans were looking at you with amazed eyes. "It's Y/n!" They immediately smiled. "Y/n is back!!" They immediately threw themselves onto you and hugged you. You couldn't help but smile and hugged them back. "Yes, I'm back, my little ducklings." You internally sighed. You would take advantage of your powers for their sake. Only for their sake. "Let the fun begin!!" You announced and immediately lifted up the mood in the L/n household.

...And that's how time went by. You had found a pair of sunglasses in the room that you shared with your two sisters and started wearing them at school. Your teachers were against it at first, but they stopped minding after two days. It was very sudden, so you found that very weird.

You for the first time were able to hold a proper presentation. Since it was black history month at that time, you wanted to hold a voluntary presentation about it and educate your classmates about the reason and importance of this month. Finally, with your sunglasses on, they weren't laughing. You felt overjoyed about the fact that people were actually listening to you, so you happily continued to hold this presentation.

As soon as you finished, the whole class, the teacher included, stood up and applauded. "That was so cool, L/n!" "I loved this presentation!" Your classmates complimented and you didn't know what to say. They finally started to take you seriously... This feedback was the ultimate proof that your sunglasses prevented your powers from making them laugh. "You represented the black community really well, L/n-san!" The teacher excitedly added and still applauded. They even cried!! You couldn't help but smile widely. You needed to thank that pink-haired dude!

Class ended soon and you ran out of your class. "Zolbe!!!!" You ran towards his class and caught him as he planned on leaving his class. "Where is that Seiko guy!" He rose his brow. "Do you mean Saiko? Where do you know him from?" He turned around and looked at a guy with silverish hair. He had a hairstyle that kind of resembled Kishibe Rohan from Jojo's bizarre adventure. "That's not him." You told him and he looked down, thinking for some seconds.

"Are you talking about Saiki then?" "Pink hair?" "Yes, that's Saiki!" You smiled and nodded. "Yes, I mean Saiki!" Zolbe just wanted to tell you where he was, but your sunglasses suddenly got outshined by Teruhashi's beauty. "You're searching for Saiki?" She asked with a soft angelic voice and you nodded with a smile. You really admired the beauty of this girl. "He already left, so sorry to disappoint you." You sighed at her words. Of course, he left. He succeeded to avoid you for one week straight. You never even saw him this week. "Ohh, ok. Thank you anyway." You answered with a friendly smile. You could have sworn that she looked a little mad. Were you seeing things?

Since school had ended and you had some spare money from a part-time job at the city hall, you went to a grocery store, wanting to buy some candy for your siblings. You were starting to financially help your parents and the city hall was the perfect place for you to learn about politics.

As you entered the store you packed all kinds of candy into a plastic bag and just planned on paying. But you stopped in your tracks as soon as you saw a particular person named Saiki admiring the ad poster on the store window, just like a moth would fly around a light bulb. You stepped closer to the poster and finally, Saiki noticed you standing on the other side of the window.

You rose your brow and left the store for a minute, looking at the poster. "Coffee jelly?" You read out loud and the guy next to you didn't say a thing. "Follow me." You demanded and entered the store again. He did as you said and followed you, while you made your way back to the candy section. You grabbed a coffee jelly, put it into your plastic bag and finally went to the register to pay for your candy.

You two walked out of the store and you finally handed him the coffee jelly you bought him. "Take this as a thank you for your advice. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one." You said. He simply looked at you and took the coffee jelly you gave him. He already knew what you planned as soon as you saw him from the store window since he heard your thoughts, but he was impressed by your thought of making your siblings happy by buying some candy.

"I'm not like you. I still am a psychic." He answered, but you had already started to leave him. 'She still isn't listening, is she?' He thought and grabbed a spoon that he teleported from his home. He started to dig into his coffee jelly and watched you leave. 'Can't I communicate through telepathy? Is she like Nendo?' He thought, but a sudden aura spawned right behind him. "Hey pal! Let's get some ramen!!" 'Good grief...'

You arrived home after half an hour and took off your sunglasses. You opened the door and your siblings immediately ran towards the door. "It's Y/n!" They cheered and you smiled. "I bought some candy for us!" You announced and they all walked to the kitchen, ready to eat candy with you. You joined them and their smiling face of joy and happiness filled your heart up with pure joy. You barely even touched the candy and simply watched your siblings having fun and happily eating your candy. There was nothing more fulfilling than the smiles of your little siblings. Two beautiful sisters and three adorable brothers.

"Y/n, your home?" You heard your mother and you nodded. "Yes I am, why?" She giggled a little. "I love this positive aura of yours. Come here we need to talk." She told you and you nodded. You quickly pecked the forehead of each five of your little ducklings and left them, putting your sunglasses on.

"We've calculated our incoming for the future, also including your part-time job." She started and you nodded. "In three months, we'll have enough money to move back and to stabilize our life there. We'll also have enough time to search for a new school and new jobs for the three of us." She said and your eyes widened. Three months? Will this finally stop the distress and sadness of your parents and siblings?

You had mixed feelings about it. On one hand, you would have it easier since your family would be happier, but you wouldn't be happy. You got used to japan and would miss Zolbe and the other friends you had. Now that you had your powers in control, you finally had real conversations, real friends and real fun. Would you have a similar life in (your country)?

You gulped your worry down and smiled. "That's awesome news. It'll be much easier for us if we move back." You told her and she nodded while smiling brightly. "I knew you wouldn't mind it. I know how much you love your family and that's why I'm so proud of you." She spoke. 'She's right, I love my family. My needs are secondary.' You thought to yourself, while the image of your happy siblings popped up in your mind. These 7 people had the most value.

(25 years old)

" (For the rights of everyone!)

Vote for Y/n L/n as the city major of (your city)!"

" 'We need to change things up, people!'

Y/n L/n speaks up about our corrupt system!"

Posters all around the city hung on the walls, competing with the posters of other voting candidates. After graduating from college (or a similar education level) and getting your politics major, you immediately aimed for higher goals, so that you could successfully chase your dream.

Right now you were holding a speech that was about your goals as a major. A lot of people had collected to listen to you, since they admired how you were one of the few black people who were brave enough to stand up for everyone. You also were the youngest of the candidates, earning you more attention and admiration from the citizens of your city.

Unlike other politicians who talk about the same thing over and over again so that the audience wouldn't even properly listen to them, you set your goals straight and clear. You had two young ladies and three young men who looked up to you after all. You couldn't disappoint them even if it depended on your life.

You finished your speech after half an hour and the audience stood up, applauding. Everyone was so happy and moved by your speech. It reminded you of your first "speech" back in Japan. The presentation that you held about the black history month and the first time that people finally took you seriously. You felt as proud of yourself as you felt back then.

After getting off stage, your siblings, now all in their teens, pulled you in for a group hug. "You're the best, Y/n!!" They all said in unison and you hugged all of them back, smiling lovingly. "I'll always be the best for you. As long as I have my family, I can do anything." You told them and remained like this for a while.

"By the way, Y/n!" Your youngest sister suddenly started after a while and you looked at her. "I've met a former classmate of yours. He was from Japan." She said and your eyes widened. "Did you ask what his name was?" She giggled a little and rubbed her neck. "Not really, sorry... But he had pink hair and green weird glasses." Your jaw dropped for a second. "Where did you meet him??"

Your sister then gasped and locked eyes with her older sister. "That reaction was hella suspicious~" You scoffed at that. "Hey hey, don't make fun of me!" Your sisters both laughed. "Chill, chill! He said that he'd like to meet you at '(your city)'s central coffee shop' at 7 pm." She said and your other sister nudged her with her elbow. "Wanna bet she'll dress up for him and seduce him?" Both snickered. "She of course will, so we won't need to bet!" You sighed and looked at your brothers. "Do you three also think so low of me?" They looked away and whistled innocently. "Of course. Where'd the affection and admiration go that the five of you had seconds ago...?"

After three hours, you sat in the shop, just in time. A waiter approached you, but gasped as soon as he recognized your face. "Aren't you Y/n L/n, the sunglasses woman??" He asked and you rose your brow. Sunglasses woman? That sounded terrible. "I'm a huge admirer and supporter of yours!" He said and you smiled. "Really? I feel honored. I worked hard for this." You answered and he smiled. "Yes, you seem really hard-working and goal-focused. What can I bring you, Miss L/n?"

"A double Espresso with two spoons of sugar, a chocolate chip cookie and a coffee jelly." A guy behind him answered and you gasped. You just wanted to order exactly that, except for the coffee jelly- wait. You locked eyes with this guy and recognized the face of...What was his name? "Saiki Kusuo." He answered and your eyes widened.

"Oh, uh... Anything else?" The waiter asked and you shook your head. "No, that's all..." You answered while watching Saiki Kusuo sitting down across from you. You couldn't bring yourself to talk, there was too much going on in your mind. "Finally there's a safe distance between us and other people. Yes, I can read your thoughts." He said and you were completely speechless. He smiled a little. "I'm here because I stumbled upon an ad of you being a major candidate in this city. It was in our city's news since you went to our school. It's late in Japan, so I teleported here and wanted to see so myself." He what??

You rose your brow. "You have your glasses on, so you need to be funnier than that to make me laugh." You answered and he shook his head. "I'm not joking. Didn't I tell you that I'm a psychic?" He said and you suddenly remembered the tiny conversation that you had with him when he had caught you crying. "You seemed to have forgotten, so I helped you remember just now." He added. "You..." "Yes, I'm not like you. My powers are different and much broader." He answered your question before you even spoke it out loud.

"I'm... That's a lot to take in. Were you the one who saved me back there when I jumped out of the window?" "Yes." "Have you heard my hateful thoughts towards my powers and cheered me up because of them?" "Yes." "Have you seen that my eyes were the key to my abilities?" "Yes." You didn't know what else to ask. That was...a really powerful ability.

"Don't worry, I mean no harm. I simply want to escape the family trip my family is doing right now and I was curious about what you've done after you moved away." He said and you nodded. "Oh, ok...Uhm, what-" "Act normal, the waiter is coming back." He announced and you flinched at that. Is he reading the thoughts of everyone in here?? That sounds...unimaginable. "Yes, it's very annoying." He responded to your thoughts.

"So, here's the order of the two of you." The waiter said as he returned, just like Saiki had announced. You smiled at the waiter and nodded. "Thank you." The waiter returned your smile. "He's going to ask you for your number." Saiki spoke and you only now noticed that he was communicating through telepathy! The other guests didn't hear him speak?? "You don't seem to catch on to things immediately." He mocked you and you glared at him a little.

"Well, I wondered... Can I have your phone number, Miss L/n? Just respectfully asking. You're breathtakingly gorgeous." The waiter asked and Saiki smiled at you. "See?" You sighed a little and shook your head smiling. "I'm here with someone else as you can see, so I'm sorry." You looked at Saiki. 'Hope you didn't mind what I just said. He might think that you're my date.' "I kind of did mind, but let's leave that for some other time." He answered your thoughts and you smiled a little. "Oh, that's unfortunate. I'm sorry I took your precious time, Miss L/n." The waiter said and left you two be.

"So...the words of your sisters earlier had turned out to be true? Why did you dress up?" Saiki started and you blushed. 'Hey, it's rude to just read someone's mind!' You angrily spoke in your mind. He again smiled and started eating his coffee jelly. "I know. But your thoughts are kind of different from those of other people. There's barely any bad thought in your mind. You're very honest and noble. Average, but not boring. I'd rather focus on your mind than listen to the crowd's voice." Saiki told you.

"The guy behind you has dirty thoughts about you for example. He doesn't know about you being known for competing for the city major votes." He added and you winced in disgust. 'Oh god, I'm so sorry for him... He has to listen to all these thoughts involuntarily?' Saiki chuckled a little. "That's exactly what I mean. You're much more empathetic than most people. That's why I wanted to see you again. I observed you some while when you were in Japan and wanted to see how you'd handle your new experience of being taken seriously. It seemed like that special trait never changed. You always remained humble and noble." You nodded and took a sip from your coffee.

"Well, I dressed up without a reason to be honest. I... I think it's for the sake of nostalgia." You answered his earlier question. "Appreciate it. You turn to flesh and bones if I look at you for too long anyway, but that half-second in which I can catch the looks of your face doesn't look that bad." He said and your eyes widened. 'It's that bad as a psychic???' "You don't mind me being able to look through your clothes?" You blushed a little at this question. 'Uhm...I'm sure you do that with everyone you know, without wanting it, even your family....' You spoke in your mind. He nodded and you felt bad for him. '...Is there no way for you to stop all of this?' You then asked him about your thoughts.

And this was how he had told you about this one year that he kept on resetting, so that he'd save Japan from a big eruption. He had a very smart brother and he made it possible for Saiki to turn off his powers for good. But his subconscious mind was against it. So eventually he accepted his fate as a psychic and kept on enduring these annoying powers for the sake of everyone's safety. He seemed cold and antisocial on the surface and you didn't understand why he told you all that. But you quickly saw the selfless acts he fulfilled for others' sakes. And appreciated the fact that he was so open with you.

The time went by and you two left the Café, spending more time together. The two of you soon started to call each other by your first names. Back then he was avoiding your presence and now it seems to be different. Was that because you were a popular teenager back then? And now that you were an adult, you didn't get that much attention anymore? You soon understood that his goal was to get the least amount of attention possible. Which was completely understandable after everything that you have learned about this guy.

"It's really impressive how noble and wholehearted your thoughts are, Y/n. It's very ironic to your ability that makes you seem like the most fun person on earth." He spoke when you sat down on the grass of an abandoned park at night. "Yes, it's a very annoying ability. I can totally understand you for disliking yours. Even if yours are really handy." You answered and subconsciously craved some grapes. Kusuo was quick to notice and teleported some into his hands.

"I switched in $2 that you coincidentally had in your left pocket for these grapes. That's another ability of mine." He said and took one into his mouth. You chuckled a little and took one too. "Like, really handy." You added and Kusuo chuckled in response. He reached out to your face and took off your sunglasses. "You won't need these around me." He told you and you couldn't help but blush a little. He was right, he was the only one unaffected by your ability...

'That woman really piques my interest. She, for a change, isn't annoying at all.' Saiki thought to himself. "Huh? What are you staring at, Mr. psychi(c)?" You spoke after you noticed him looking at your face for a little too long. He chuckled at your poor wordplay with his last name. "Does my skull look weird to you?" You messed with him and he rolled his eyes. "Good grief, no it doesn't. Your skull is completely average in comparison to the skull of Nendo. He has a very prominently formed chin, even down in his skull." He said and your eyes widened. "Butt-chin-guy Nendo??" Kusuo smiled and nodded.

You chuckled a little. "You have to admit, sometimes it must have been funny with your abilities. For example, listening to the thoughts of random girls being head over heels over their crushes and being embarrassingly obsessive." You spoke but he shook his head. "No that's not fun. Especially if I am that crush." He said with an annoyed sigh and you gasped. "Who?" His eyes widened. "Good grief..." You leaned in, smiling at him curiously. "Tell me!" He rolled his eyes. "Three girls in my class started liking me. Yes, Teruhashi was one of them. I remember you thinking of her being an angel."

Your jaw dropped. "Three girls?? And Teruhashi out of all people??? Wow, that sounds blissful yet stressful as hell. Are you still in touch with them?" He nodded. "One of them is together with a friend now. Teruhashi and the other girl still like me and it's annoying. That other girl even has powers too and knows about mine." He told you and you nodded. You felt like Kusuo was talking much more than usual. What was the reason behind that?

"You really are selfless, hm? Usually, the thoughts of people show their real ego, but you truly care for others. You listen to me without thinking too much about yourself, that's why I feel comfortable talking to you. And since I'm a psychic I know that you're a trustworthy person." He answered and chuckled as soon as he saw your confused expression. "You wondered why I am talking so openly to you and I gave you my answer to your question." He told you and your eyes widened. You still needed to get used to him hearing your thoughts, but it didn't catch you off guard that much anymore. You trusted Kusuo so you didn't mind him heading and seeing your thoughts.

"It's starting to be late here too. You should get some sleep." He suggested and you nodded. "You're right. Take care." You said and stood up. You planned on making your way to your home, but a hand on your shoulder stopped you.

A second later, the two of you stood in the hallway of your home. "Kusuo? Did you-" "You're tired. Do you think I'd let you drive like that? Your car already is in your garage." He interrupted you. You gulped. "You're right..." He shook his head, but smiled gently. "Good grief. I'll see you again, so take care." And with these words, he was gone...

You got yourself ready for bedtime after 15 minutes and finally entered your bedroom. While approaching your bed, you've noticed a letter on it. You took it in your hands and chuckled as soon as you read it.

„This is my phone number. -Kusuo" As bland as the note was, it included his phone number on the back. Just as boringly written as the front. You saved the number and texted him that he could have been a little more creative. After five minutes, he saw your message.

Kusuo: Shut up. Good grief...

You: Good night, Kusuo. Thank you for today.

You texted him and put your phone away and smiled a little while laying down on your bed. After 17 years of torturous laughter from everyone you spoke to, Saiki Kusuo was the first one to take you seriously. He also was the one who started a new chapter in your life. He was very precious to you, even though you just now started to properly get to know him.

Kusuo, while you thought about him, did the same and looked at his room's ceiling laying on his back. He didn't want to admit it, but he really enjoyed your company. You were much more mature than his environment and he greatly appreciated this. He couldn't help but smile while thinking about you. You kind of were the first person who was on a similar wavelength to him, with which he wasn't familiar.

You both sighed in defeat, unknowingly having the same thought at the same time.

Maybe I should give it a try. He/She deserves it.
