After the war, and back into the cupboard

Summary:

Imagine if you were just living your nine-year-old life and you wake up or just appear to be on the floor in front of a toddler in a adult's body. What would you do? Well, this is Harry Potter's adventure through this very prompt. Also, the elder wand is not with dumbledore nor is it snapped in half, because I said so. Toddler shenanigans.

Chapter Text

Harry had fallen asleep alone in Number 12, Grimmauld Place. Again. It wasn’t his fault that he didn’t like Ginny after the War, they just kinda fell out. At least he still had Teddy, his Godson. Teddy was going to preschool, now so it had been only 3 years after the war. Teddy’s Parents had died in the War they had been Harry’s Friends.
Nymphadora Tonks was Teddy’s mother and Remus Lupin his Father. It was hard for Harry for the first year after the war and their deaths. It was really sad, because Teddy kept calling Harry, “Dada”. Anyways now Harry was in bed about to fall asleep after a long day at work. Teddy had long fallen asleep hours ago. There was just something bugging Harry.
His scar hurt for no reason. Maybe in his earlier years he would have informed someone, or be concerned about it. Like I said earlier, Harry wanted to sleep, and honestly did not give a bloody damn. Harry should have been more concerned. Harry finally fell asleep after counting at least a million things he had in his room.

Teddy was running around the house at 4 in the morning, holding the elder wand. Just saying random spells that he learned in preschool. Then he remembered one that Harry had said a few times. Thinking about Harry he walked towards his room. He pointed the wand at Harry and said “Wingardium Leviosa!” Then Harry was floating like a bubble!
Then Harry fell. About 9 feet, Harry woke up from this fall like many would. Harry looked around very confused-like. Harry lies down again still on the floor. Teddy was now worried. His dad could be badly hurt.

Harry was very confused. Wasn’t he in his cupboard a second ago? Cleaning the spiderwebs that had festered there? The ceiling was far away from his head now and a different color. He sat up and looked around and saw a toddler with a stick that kinda reminded him of witches. The toddlers' hair was changing color like someone had a remote controlling it.
“Dada? Are you okay?” The toddler sobbed.

Harry was confused on why the Toddler called him dada? Harry got up and noticed how tall he was and how not scrawny he was. The place he was in was a large bedroom, like the one Dudley has. The toddler walked towards him slowly like he was scared or something else. The toddler reached him and grabbed his pant leg. He held onto it like if he let go Harry would disappear.
“So, child? Where are your parents?” Harry asked.
The child looked very confused now, as if it was the easiest thing to know. The kid held his finger up to tell Harry to wait a second. Then ran out the door. Harry heard little tiny stomps going down the stairs. Then going back up a little slower as if holding something heavy. When the kid had finally gotten back Harry was sitting in a criss-cross legged pattern.
The child was holding a large scrapbook. He put it in front of Harry. He opened it and started pointing at an older version of Harry. The picture was moving too, it was like magic.
“That’s you, and that’s mommy.” He said while pointing at a fairly decent looking ginger.
Looking at the rest of the photos he saw one that looked like him except without the scar. They looked like his father, or well how he imagined him. The kid kept trying to keep Harry’s attention on him. The child gasped, “Auntie Minerva will know how to fix this!” Then the child ran over to the fireplace and threw some type of green powder into it and yelled “Headmaster of Hogwarts Office!”

“Stay right there okay?” The child demanded Harry.

Then the child ran into the fireplace as if it was completely normal. Harry still was very confused at all of the things that had started happening.

Minerva was drinking tea in her office and noticed the flames of the fireplace turning green. That meant that someone was coming in from at least a few miles away. Teddy, Harry’s Godson ran into the room and started crying and sobbing.

“Auntie! Daddy fell on his head and he doesn’t remember who you or anybody else is!”
Mineva noticed that Teddy’s hair was changing absurdly fast.

“Teddy, calm down, how did he fall on his head? What happened?”

“Well, I was playing with his wand and he was in bed and I levitated him and, and, and he fell.”

Minerva took Teddy’s hand and walked back into the flames. She had to duck, because of the change of types of fireplaces. Harry was sitting on the floor in front of a scrapbook that Hadgrid made for Harry in his first year. He looked up and looked confused like a muggle being told magic was real.

“Harry, are you alright? Teddy told me that you fell on your head and that you don’t remember who he is.” Minerva said slowly so as not to boggle Harry’s brain.

“I don’t know who Teddy is nor you. All I know is that I was in the dursley’s house under the stairs.” Harry said.

Minerva sat down in front of Harry. Then flipped to a page holding the Marauders. Then pointed to each of them and asked if he recognized any of them. He shook his head, no to all of them. She sighed.
“Well, Teddy, I need you to come with me. Potter, I need you to stay in this house. You can take anything from anywhere since it is your house. Also try to look for some books to remember something at least.” She said, “Also when was your last birthday?”
At least she could get some info from that.
“My last birthday was my ninth, but we didn’t celebrate it.” Harry answered.

Harry watched them leave through the Green fire. The child named Teddy waved at him. He stood up again and walked into a bathroom he had guessed. He looked at the mirror in shock as he looked older. Still holding some baby face. He peeked down his shirt, and apparently went to the gym.
He wasn’t surprised at that fact though. He had always wanted to go after having to hear Uncle Vernon basically have a huffing and puffing attack every time he went down the stairs. He looked at the mirror again and his eyes flashed red for a moment. Again he dismissed it as a magic thing. He walked out of the bathroom and into the hallway which had 3 other doors. He also saw a stairway that went downstairs.
On the opposite side of the stairs he saw a bookshelf that was full of books, but also in his handwriting, “Teddy, Do Not Touch.” Deciding if Teddy isn’t allowed to touch it then Harry shouldn’t touch them either. He went towards the stairs expecting to see either a living room or the front door. Instead he was to be found in another hallway. He saw a door with a peephole so he probably shouldn’t go through that door. It was most likely the front door, and the tall lady said to stay in the house.
“Why listen to a Woman who’s friends told her nothing?” A voice said.

“What?” Harry questioned the air. “Wait, who was that?”

Nobody answered him, so he continued looking around the house. He found a dining room to seat at least 12 people. Well it was good that Harry would have friends in the future. He noticed an elf looking creature washing the dishes.

“Good morning, Master Harry Potter,” they said.

“Erh, Good morning.” Harry said out of pleasantries.

“Is Master alright? Kreacher heard a fall in the Master's bedroom.” The creature named Kreacher said.

“Well I am fine, but everyone is saying I lost my memory, also why are you calling me Master?” Harry said

Kreacher looked at him shocked, his eyes going cartoonishly big. Then stopped washing the dishes and ran over to Harry and made Harry sit down at the nearest seat he could.
“Master Harry Potter, what was the last thing you remember before waking up in this house?” Kreacher asked.
Harry paused then, and tried to remember the date of today.
“Um, today is 18/6/1989 and I was under the stairs cleaning out the spiderwebs.”
Kreacher sighed and said, “Master Potter, the year is 2001 and this Place is Grimmauld Place, Number 12.”

I had made another sarcastic comment knowing he would never hear it. Instead of him not hearing it, he questioned it. It excited me. This means he could hear me and since he lost his memory he would listen to me more easily. He also had no idea who I was. This was gonna go well.

“Harry? Are you there?” A voice said.

Harry heard them again the second time today he wanted to know who they were. If they could hear his thoughts or something magical.

“Hello! I’m here, can you hear me?” Harry responded quickly

Kreacher had left an hour ago to go do some errands that older Harry wanted him to do. In turn Harry got to mess around in his own house, currently he was looking at the copper pots and pans that Kreacher had started cleaning and that Harry had finished cleaning.

“So Harry, how are you?” The voice started, “and yes I can hear your thoughts, but I do like hearing verbal responses.”

Harry noted that in his head.

“Well, I’m good other than being in the future and not knowing what the hell is going on, but at least I’m not dead.” Harry answered pathetically.

He heard the voice giggle.

“So Harry, what year is it?” it asked

“It’s 2001. I don’t like it here, but it’s better than the cupboard. Can I ask a question?”

Harry waited for an answer trying not to think much.

“Of course Harry, you have 2 questions that I will answer.”

Harry started as soon as the voice stopped.

“What’s your name, and how long have you been listening to my thoughts?”
They stopped for a second.

“Well, Harry, since you're so honest, I’ve been in your head as long as you’ve been alive, and my name is Tom.”

Harry put that in his mental list.

“Do you trust me?” Tom asked “Do you?”

Harry thought for a second.

“Of course I trust you, you’ve been with me all my life.”

Harry thought that was a reasonable answer.

“Well, I need you to disobey what that tall lady said. She’s a liar, she isn’t trying to help you. When she comes back you’ll die.” Tom started “I need you to grab the floo powder that the child grabbed earlier, and I need you to throw it at your feet once you're in your fireplace.”

Harry noted that down in a mental list.

“And before I forget you have to say ‘Little Hangleton Graveyard’ while you throw the powder.”

Harry went to go look for the floo powder that Tom had told him to go get. It took him a while even though he’d been in there only a few hours ago. He grabbed it and ran down stairs.

“Hey Tom, do you mind if I wear these?” Then pointed down at his body.

“Harry, I honestly don’t care. Just do what I told you.”

Harry continued going down the stairs holding the floo powder. He almost let go of it twice. Anyways, he had to duck to get into the fireplace and finally he shouted, “Little Hangleton Graveyard” and the fireplace glowed green. He felt sick at the way it spun him around and around. He first smelt the smell of mold or a really old candle that had been burned too many times. When he finally opened his eyes there were two couches that looked like they belonged in the 50’s and a table that had a book on it.
Harry was slightly confused, but he trusted Tom more than anyone else at that moment. Plus what was the harm of listening to someone who was giving all this great advice? Harry looked at the floor and noticed that some of the dust had been misplaced. Like people in the house for a while and then leaving. He then hit his head on the overhanging chimney.

“OUCH, Blood-” Harry exclaimed

“Harry, focus.” Tom demanded.

Harry nodded while crouching out of the chimney.

“Wait Tom what am I supposed to do?” Harry questioned
“Well, Harry.” Tom started, “I need you to relax, pretend that your body isn’t your own”

Harry thought that was a bit suspicious, but tried anyway. It was getting harder to do it. When Harry thought about it he felt like he was fully in control. Harry could feel Tom getting impatient. Harry then stopped thinking about everything and he felt like somebody was sinking into his skin. It felt a little bizarre, maybe even a little swell. Harry actually thought he was gonna be pushed out of his own skin, but stayed on the brink of it.

“See Harry, it wasn’t so hard,” Tom said, while Harry’s mouth moved in time with the words being spilled.

“Tom what did you do? Why are- is -skin?” Harry said, but his own lips did not follow.

“Harry, shh calm down you're fine, nobody will know about any of this.” Tom tried to calm Harry down.

Harry shut up and just closed his eyes or the limbo’s equivalent of it. He tried to think of what this was. He swore he read it in one of his aunt Petunia’s books. He tried to remember what the thing was called. He knew it was used in different instances like how Dudley possessed everything. THERE that was the word, possessing, possessed, possess. He was being possessed by Tom.

“Tom? Are you possessing me?” Harry asked.

Tom scoffed, “Wow Harry what type of mental gymnastics did you have to go through to get that assumption?”

Harry cried a little bit inside. “Not much, but what are you doing?”

Minerva started freaking out, Harry was gone with most of his memory gone. WITH NONE OF IT FROM THE WIZARDING WORLD. Teddy was on the floor crying about where his godfather was. Not even Sirius would do this if he had a choice. WHAT IF HE DIDN’T HAVE A CHOICE? WHAT IF HARRY WAS KIDNAPPED! Teddy was now consulting with Kreacher asking where Harry was.
Kreacher was now flooing all of Harry’s friends asking if they’d seen him and if not to go look for him, because he was missing. Nobody had seen him, and were now searching basically everywhere. Well except Little Hangleton, who would though? There were only Muggles there and why would anybody try to put Harry there.
