it was nighttime in essempee, but the city wasn’t asleep. there were boats coming in and out of the port. there were people laughing and dancing to their hearts content in night clubs. the glow of street lights lit up the city. billboards flashed and headlights flew by. mile-high buildings towered over the bustling streets. the metro ran 24/7. ‘the city never sleeps’ is what tourists and old people like to say, but for tommy, it was just an opportunity to stay up late. alleyways were his favorite. so dark and mysterious. sometimes he found a cat, sometimes it was a rat. he found a raccoon once. so beady eyed, tommy fell in love.
little shops lined backroads where tommy would usually hang out. little bodegas and drug stores. sometimes, he stumbled onto things even better.
there was a tiny poster, almost impossible to see if you weren’t looking for it.

with his interest now piqued. tommy embarked on his new adventure.
