Work Text:

"Allison, please calm down. This can be done in a civil manner---" but before Five could continue, Allison had screamed at him, her eyes glowing yellow in the process.

"SHUT YOUR MOUTH!"

Five thought his sister was just on the verge of breaking down, all her pent up rage being released with him on the receiving end. But what he didn't realize was that Allison's words were about to become true in a matter of seconds. He couldn't speak. Couldn't breathe.

Allison rumored me...

The other stared in shock as they watched Five try and gasp for air. His mouth sealed shut and his eyes absent of his pupils, a sign of Allison's rumor taking hold.

Someone help me, please.

"How are you doing this without saying 'I heard a rumor'...?" Luther trailed off, his mind still trying to process what his sister had done.

"It doesn't feel good does it?" Allison taunted him, whispering in his ear as he tried to gasp for air. "Being all voiceless and vulnerable? I'm so sick of following you around! and only for what? another apocalypse to come and kill us? You try so hard to save everyone and everything around you but don't you see, Five? All of this is your doing! EVERYTHING IS YOUR FAULT! You should have never come back because we were just fine without your spiteful and arrogant ass in our life!"

Five began crying, his sobbing definitely not helping him catch his breath with his mouth sealed shut. He'd never felt more trapped - more scared for his life.

No more... Please let me go...

"THAT'S ENOUGH! LET HIM GO, ALLISON!" Diego shouted, yet he was trying so hard not to hurt his sister.

But Allison wasn't done. She wanted her last blow to hit hard.

And it did.

You should've just died alone in the apocalypse.

And that was the last straw for Viktor, the sight of his oldest-youngest brother crying and sobbing was enough for him to do the thing he never wanted to do again. He punched his sister.

The punch was enough to release Allison's hold on Five, the latter finally able to cough and gasp for air greedily while he tried to control his sobbing. Lila and Diego immediately approached him, trying to help him calm down and breathe.

"Get the fuck away from him!" Viktor yelled at her. And despite the bleeding nose Allison started sporting after his hit, he was far from feeling sorry or guilty about what he had done. "You've crossed the line, Allison."

Those were his last words before Allison stormed out of the room, leaving the rest of them behind to handle the results of her rumor.

"I'm going to get some water," Fei declared before standing up to get some water for Five.

Diego immediately hugged Five, his arms wrapping tightly around his brother. The latter had a death grip on Diego's shirt, his body shaking in fear as he continued to sob openly in front of his siblings.

"Shh, it's alright. You can let it out, Five," Diego mumbled into Five's ear as he tried to calm his brother down, Lila looking at the pair with worried eyes.

"I'm sorry..." Five whispered after a few minutes, barely enough for the others to hear. This immediately caught Viktor's attention.

"You don't need to apologize for anything, Five. None of this is your fault. Maybe it's because some things are just meant to be, but that doesn't mean everything is your fault."

"And what Allison said was all bullshit. We missed you, Five. Everything went downhill when you left. We may not have been the most supportive when you came back but I swear to the universe that we love you, Five. " Diego added, trying to convince his brother of the truth.

He remained silent, trying to figure out what he wanted to say. What he needed to say. Because for the first time in his lifetime, he'd never felt more afraid than being under Allison's rumor. A rumor that showed off his most vulnerable side. A side that now everyone who was still alive has seen and experienced first hand.

He wanted to believe them. He really did.

But maybe Allison was right... Maybe they would have been better off without me in the first place.

"Okay..." he whispered.

But is it really "okay"?
