Genma's clueless but kind civilian father, Yuuichi, mistakes early Team Ro as being Genma's first Genin team when he meets them since they're all so young (Genma is 17, Kakashi's 14, Tenzou's 10, and Yuugao's 7). He runs a small restaurant that had to be rebuilt after the Kyuubi's devastation, and Genma brought his team by for the grand re-opening.
"Gen-chan, you didn't tell me you took on a Genin Team!" Yuuichi cries as he comes over to their table. "Congratulations!"
Genma, appalled and glancing warily at Kakashi out of the corner of his eye: "Dad, this is my Captain, Hatake Kakashi, and my teammates are Tenzou and Uzuki Yuugao."
Yuuichi blinks, trying to process the mix of horror that these little kids were ANBU, and his embarrassment at potentially insulting them. "Oh, erm, right. Forgive me. I didn't mean to offend..."
Tenzou shrugs. "To be fair, Uzuki WAS a Genin until like a week ago."
Yuugao kicks him in the shin under the table. "That was a technicality," she growls.
Genma gives them both the 'mom look' to make them behave. "Anyway, we'll have a bowl of your famous gyudon for everyone, with salads and miso soup," he says breezily, then hesitates as he realizes that he just ordered for Kakashi too. Kakashi didn't usually mind, but after his dad's blunder Genma feels like he needs to show a little respect for his Captain so he adds, "Erm, if that's good with you, sir?"
"Sure thing," Kakashi says, deadpan and expressionless until a very nervous Yuuichi breaks under the tension and flees back to the kitchen to place their order. Then Kakashi cracks. "Gen-chan."
Yuugao snickers, and Tenzou loses it completely laughing at Genma's side. Genma smiles ruefully. "Shut the fuck up, all of you."
"Hai, Sensei!" Yuugao says, cracking up all over again.
