Sango closed the door behind her after she entered her home. She let out a long sigh as she leaned against the wall. Today was more frustrating and tiring than usual. After a few seconds of resting she removed herself from the wall and leaned down to take off her shoes. She was really looking forward to taking a hot shower and getting in bed.
She walked into the living room expecting her boyfriend of a few years to be watching the TV like he usually did at this hour. But he was nowhere to be seen and everything was turned off.
"That's unusual... Did he fall asleep while working again?" Sango thought to herself.
She went into their office room and saw him asleep on his desk. A few files and papers strewn all over the desk. The lamp next to his desk still on and glowing brightly.
She walked over to him and gently turned his chair around to pick him up into her arms. After she was able to comfortably settle him bridal style she turned to turn off the lamp and slowly walked out of the room.
She nudged the door of their bedroom open with her foot and walked in. She placed Heizou onto his side of the bed and took of his shirt. She knew he sometimes got uncomfortable with sleeping with a shirt on. After taking it off she went to pull the covers on him but he grabbed her hand instead.
"Don't go... Come to bed..." He mumbled with his eyes still closed.
"I'm just going to take a shower and I'm going to lay the covers on you." Sango whispered back to him.
"Mm... How about you lay on me instead? You're way more comfortable..."
"Either you go to sleep now or I will smack you."
"You wouldn't do that to a vulnerable, sleeping, sweet man... would you?" He smiled lazily while nuzzling into his pillow.
"If you can flirt then you can take a beating." And with that she got up to go to the bathroom. She turned on the light and closed the door after her to get in the shower.
Heizou just snuggled deeper into the pillow and the covers and getting comfortable while waiting for his girlfriend to join him.
After a few minutes she stepped out of the bathroom with her bathrobe and put on a shirt and underwear before getting under the covers. She wrapped her arms around Heizou as she spooned him.
"Goodnight..." Sango mumbled into his neck and he responded by slowly turning his head to plant a kiss on her cheek.
