Chapter Text

"Ah, summer break. A time for leisure, recreation, and takin 'er easy...."

"Uuunless you're me."

A golf cart smashes through a welcome sign reading 'Welcome to Gravity Falls, Oregon'. Driving it is a young boy, no more than 12, alongside him is a girl who looks strikingly similar to him, and a buff man in expensive clothing riding on the roof.

"It's getting closer!" The girl cries out, glancing behind her at a massive, shadowy figure chasing them.

"Keep driving, Kid!" The man orders, a buff purple humanoid figure tossing whatever it can to slow the creature down, "Don't stop for any reason!"

The cart careens down a hill, rolling over a large rock, causing the cart to go flying through the air, spinning out of control, the man on top of it barely able to hold on, the girl looking sick, before it luckily lands facing the correct way, continuing it's path down the hill.

"My name is Dipper, the girl about to puke is my sister Mabel. The buff guy with the purple ghost is Jotaro."

"You may be wondering what we're doing in a golf cart fleeing from a creature of unimaginable horror."

Suddenly, a tree is sent flying and crashes in their path, having been ripped from the ground by the pursuing giant.

"AAAH," Mabel screams, " LOOK OUT!"

The two kids scream as their cart swerves, the man on top remaining steadfast as everything freeze frames.

"Rest assured, there is a perfectly logical explanation!"

"Let's rewind!" Dipper narrates.

The view changes to Dipper and Mabel in the living room of their home, Dipper playing a handheld game device while Mabel cuddles with a grey cat.

"It all started when our parents decided we could use some fresh air, and shipped us up to the sleepy town of Gravity Falls, Oregon to stay at our Great Uncle's place in the woods."

The kids have their respective things taken, replaced with travel gear and essentials, before they're put on a bus heading to Oregon. Inside the bus, the kids sit down at the back of the bus, noticing a buff teenager sleeping in the aisle across from them, black cap pushed down over his eyes as he takes up two seats. As hours pass, he suddenly seems to startle awake, causing Mabel to speak out.

"Oh my gosh are you alright, mister? What happened?" She asks, concerned.

The man's eyes seem to dart around, slowly calming down as the man realizes that he seems to be safe, although his expression shifts to convey confusion. After a while, he simply nods, shifting to sit normally instead of laying down.

"I'm alright, thank you for the concern. It's nothing I'm not used to." His deep voice conveying a slight sadness to them. "If you don't mind, I've got a few questions I need to ask."

Dipper nods, "Go ahead dude, ask away."

The man nods thankfully, his expression settling down to a slight frown, barely off from a poker face.

"Do you know where we are right now?"

Dipper's eyebrows tilt in thought. "We left Piedmont about 9 hours ago, so we should be getting close to Gravity Falls, Oregon pretty soon."

Mabel then decides to ask a few questions of her own.

"Hey mister, what's your name? Where are you headed?"

"My name is Jotaro Kujo. I'm headed..." The man pauses in thought. 'They did mention a town as the bus's destination. I'll say I'm headed there.' "for Gravity Falls. I needed to take a break from the city life and enjoy some peace and quiet."

"Really?" Mabel asks, "We're going there too! Our parents thought that we 'needed some air' and they sent us to live with our Great Uncle Stan at his tourist attraction/house for a few months."

Jotaro raises an eyebrow. 'I might have to check this 'Stan' guy out. I'll need somewhere to work, and he might be hiring.'

"What are your names?" Jotaro inquired.

"My name's Dipper, and this is my twin sister Mabel." The boy answered.

Jotaro hums in satisfaction, turning his thoughts inward.

'Gravity Falls huh? How the hell did I end up on a bus to the middle of Nowhere, USA.' he pondered, his eyes widening slightly as he notices a small travel bag with his name embossed on its side. Grabbing the handles, he pulls it into his lap, zipping it open. Inside, he finds 5000 US Dollars, some protein bars, water bottles, essentials, a post-it note reading 'Good Luck, JoJo! - A.', and some changes of clothes, all outfits hes worn before. His white outfit from Morioh, that outfit he wore regularly during his time as a Marine Biologist, His Purple Star-Patterned outfit he wore when he-

When he...

.

When he died.

Oh God, he should be dead.

It was all flooding back to him. How did he forget Florida? He saved his daughter's life, but that bastard priest succeeded because of it. He managed to reset the Universe.

So then... How is he still alive? And how did he end up on a bus in Oregon?

He takes another look at the note he found in that bag.

'Good Luck, JoJo! - A.'

'Whoever this 'A' is must be responsible for this. But who could that be?'

'A.....could it be Avdol? No, he died back in Egypt. Anasui? No, he wouldn't have been able to do this... So.. who?'

His thoughts are interrupted as the bus pulls to a stop.

"Last stop! Please exit the bus! You have arrived in Gravity Falls!" announced the driver.

He quickly zips up the bag, slinging it around his shoulder as he moves to leave the vehicle. Glancing behind him, he sees the twins doing the same. Stepping out of the bus, he notices that it's midday.

Feeling the warm summer breeze dance on his skin, he stretches.

As the gravity of the situation dawns on him, he simply pulls his cap slightly downwards, speaking the one line he thinks makes sense at the moment.

"Yare Yare Daze..."
