When Eddie knocks on Steve’s door, he’s not expecting the answer he gets.
There’s Steve, standing in the doorway, with unruly hair, pink tinged skin, and a pair of glasses. He looks like he just woke up from a nap, and Eddie’s struck with a sudden urge to bear hug his boyfriend and kiss him until he protests.
Steve blushes when he realizes it’s Eddie and goes to rip his glasses off.
“No, no, no!” Eddie says quickly. “I like them. Keep them on.”
“But they’re ugly… I don’t want you to see me like this.”
“You look adorable .” Eddie gushes. “It’s the cutest I’ve seen you look, and you look pretty damn cute all the time.”
Steve blushes again, even deeper this time.
Eddie takes his chance to kiss Steve on both of his cheeks and his nose. He says “so… damn… cute” as he gives each kiss.
That earns a giggle out of Steve, and he turns his neck to the side for Eddie to kiss him there.
Eddie does as Steve wants and presses a kiss to Steve’s neck. “Mmm,” he hums.
Steve sighs contentedly, then yawns on accident.
“Were you sleeping?” Eddie asks and pulls away.
“Yeah, but it’s okay. I’d rather have you here than sleep.”
“You need your sleep, Stevie.” Eddie pokes him on the arm. “Maybe we can cuddle and you can take another little nap?”
Steve nods and pulls Eddie into his house. He shuts the door behind them and then all but drags Eddie to his room.
“Go lay down, sweetheart.”
Steve does as Eddie says and lays down on the bed. He pats the spot next to him and Eddie soon follows, curling up against Steve. He rests his head against Steve’s chest and sighs. “You always make a nice pillow, Stevie.”
“Do I?” Steve yawns again.
“Yep.”
“Mm,” Steve hums.
“Go to sleep,” Eddie says softly.
Steve closes his eyes and slowly drifts off to the sound of Eddie’s steady breathing.
