Chapter one: Tinder
Tanjiro Kamado, a 21 year old collage student who was living in New York, was scrolling through Tinder,(Some stupid app his sister downloaded for him cuz apparently he was "to lonely for his age" as she put it) when he stumbled upon a girl with a puppy licking her face.
She looked pretty cute and out of curiosity he read more about the girl. After scrolling through her bio and staring at the picture for who knows how long, he hearted it and turned off his phone.
Letting out a sigh he slid down the couch stretching. He got up and went to his kitchen to get something to eat only to find nothing. He groaned in frustration, and decided he would just have fast food.
Grabbing his phone off the couch and picking up his car keys before the door, he got into the elevator, and pushed ground floor.
Getting to the bottom, he got out of the elevator and walked out the building into the parking lot. Clicking the unlock button to the car, he opened the door and got inside. He revved up the engine and pulled out the lot onto the road and started his way to the McPukes.
"Hay Siri" the young man said tapping the tablet under where you insert the CDs.
the gadget replied with a simple "What can I do for you today?"
"Take me to the nearest McDonalds."
"I'm sorry, I don't understand. Can you please repeat that?"
"Oh my- Take me to the closest McDonalds."
"I'm sorry, I didn't get that. Can you please repeat yourself?"
"Seriously?" Tanjiro said getting annoyed "I said take me to the closest McDonalds!"
"Directions for the nearest Subway"
"HOW IN THE HELL-!!"
After a frustrating drive, Tanjiro finally made it to the McShits and ordered his food. Since it was only 5 o'clock and there was still light out, he decided he would go eat at the park.
Once he arrived he got out of his car and made his way to a pick-nick table. However, before he could reach the table, he heard someone yell "Stop that dog!"... And you know what that means...
That's right... he was nocked over by a dog running through his legs.
Letting out a surprised yelp as he hit the ground, he was dragged around by a leash wrapped around his foot.
The dog slowly came to a stop, and Tanjiro grabbed the leash that was around his foot to go look for whoever owned the animal.
Getting up off the ground and looking around he saw a girl running up to him, who he could only guess was the person who owned the thing.
Once in earshot the girl spoke walking up to take the leash from Tanjiro's hand "Thank you so much for stopping him! He saw a squirrel and took off."
Tanjiro let out a chuckle at the thought of watching the dog take off out of nowhere just for a squirrel "it's no problem. Besides... he kinda knocked me off my feet and dragged me around for a bit"
The girl looked worried after what he had said and for a second he thought he knew her from somewhere "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! Did he hurt you at all?"
"No, not at all, don't worry about it. Have a nice night ma'am." Tanjiro replied with a smile.
"Are you sure? I could-"
"Kanao! There you are! Did you get your dog?" A woman, maybe in her middle twenties, said running up to the two.
"Yes, I have him. This man here actually got him for me."
"Really? How nice of him! Thank you so much for getting him for us." The older woman said holding out a hand for a handshake.
Tanjuro took it gladly saying it was no big deal.
"Well alright then. Have a nice night... uhh... what's your name?"
"Uh- Tanjiro."
"Well it was nice meeting you Tanjuro! I'm Shinobu, and that's Kanao. Thanks again and have a nice night!"
"You too!" And with that they parted ways.
Tanjiro finally made it back to his apartment, and threw his keys on the kitchen counter. Walking over to the couch he slouched down and grabbed the remote to the side of him. He switched a couple channels not finding anything interesting and shut off the TV. He made his way to his room and collapsed onto his bed kicking off his shoes. Checking the time it was just after 8, and he decided he would go to bed early today like the responsible adult he should be, considering he has class in the morning.
Letting out a sigh, he plugged in his phone and turned off the lights. It didn't take long before he was out like a lightbulb.
It had been a week since Tanjiro had been dragged around the park, and he couldn't shake the feeling that he knew that girl from somewhere. he was sitting at his table eating cereal peacefully and was scrolling through his phone when a notification popped up on the top of his screen saying "A match has been made". And you can only guess what that means...
Tanjiro spat out his cereal all over his phone and kitchen counter, shocked to say the least, that he actually got a match on tinder. Wiping the milk off his phone he quickly went into Tinder to see who his match was.
Clicking onto the app he looked around and saw that his match was none other then the girl he found interesting a week ago. Then again it couldn't have been anyone else because that was the only person he had actually taken any interest into since his sister downloaded the dumb app.
Chewing his nails, he clicked into the message box that he now shared with the girl, and sat there anxiously staring at his keyboard wondering what to type.
'If I got the notation for a match does that mean she did to? Probably I mean it would be weird if she didn't... but what should I text her? I don't wanna come off as weird or clingy... gee why does this have to be so hard just type something! Anything!'
Tanjiro slowly typed something on his keyboard and reread over it what had to be ten thousand times, before he hit the send button.
Letting out a sigh he didn't know he was holding, he sat his phone down on the table and remembered he still had to clean up the milk. He got up and grabbed a cloth from the sink to wipe up the mess he had made. Putting his bowl in the sink he walked back over to his phone and picked it up looking to see if anyone had texted him.
'Nope. No new messages. I'll just watch some TV'
He sat on the couch in a laying manner, and clicked through the channels like he had done before. Not finding anything once again he decided to plug his computer into the TV and turned on 'Your Lie In April'.
After six or so episodes he felt a vibration in his left pocket startling him from his peace.
Taking out his phone it was a text from Nezuko. He opened up their contacts to see what she wanted and sighed at what she had texted before letting out a chuckle and replying.
~~~
"Inosuke says that if I put mentos in a Coca-Cola bottle it'll make fireworks. Is that true???"
"Yeah. You didn't know?"
"Seriously???"
"Yeah! You should try it, it's really cool"
"Ok! :p"
~~~
Tanjiro almost felt bad for what he told her, but laughed at the thought of Coca-Cola exploding in her face. Turning off his phone he continued watching his episode.
Around 30 minutes later he got another text and picked up his phone to see how the fireworks when for Nezuko. However, he dropped his phone in surprise when the message wasn't from his sister, and was in-fact from his tinder match.
Going into their messages he was surprised at what they had texted.
~~~
"Sorry who is this? My sister apparently got me a Tinder account without me knowing to hook me up with someone. Sorry for the inconvenience."
~~~
To say Tanjiro was a bit disappointed was an understatement.... he was very disappointed.... but hey! Who knows.Maybe he still has a chance with the girl.
