Work Text:
The day that Yujiro and Aizou moved into their new luxury apartment was a bit of a hectic one. They had to do everything as soon as they were done with their idol work, and had to hire people to move their furniture and other belongings into the apartment, and stay up for several hours into the night fixing their place up so it was passably livable.
Neither of the two had even eaten dinner until close to one in the morning.
It wasn’t long after dinner that Yujiro passed out completely on the couch, only to be carried to his new bedroom by Aizou.
Ever since that first night, it never felt truly calm.
The boys were always busy- with their apartment or with focusing on work-related things.
It was much more stressful than Yujiro thought it would be.
He’d only moved houses once in his life before, and that move was back before he was five years old. He really didn’t remember it. He lived in the Someya estate pretty much his entire life.
He didn’t expect there to be so much. From changing his mailing address, to updating his IDs that had his old address, to actually keeping up with the entire apartment, to remembering everything about their new place and getting used to the new rules…
He already missed his old bedroom.
That being said, he was also already adapting quite well. He liked living alone- with Aizou. The two had been dating for about a year by now.
Yet, despite adapting well, there was a small sense of loneliness whenever Yujiro went to bed.
It made sleeping difficult. He tossed and turned and stared at the wall with a frown on his face. He needed…he needed something. But what?
He glanced at the mini clock on his nightstand, a frown twisting at his lips.
He and Aizou had been living at this apartment for just about a month, and he still hadn’t figured out how to peacefully rest.
It’s already two in the morning…and we still have that morning radio talk show at seven…ugh…
Yujiro sat up, frowning in annoyance.
Maybe some tea will help.
He got out of bed and shuffled out to the kitchen, not bothering trying to be quiet. After all, Aizou slept like the dead.
He boiled some water and made himself a cup of chamomile tea, adding a little bit of honey before sipping it quietly, holding the cup with both of his cold hands.
It’s relaxing, but…I still don’t think I’ll be able to get adequate rest…
He sighed, before his big blue eyes flickered to the door to Aizou’s bedroom. He pursed his lips in thought.
Maybe…I can…
He rinsed his cup out quietly and walked over to Aizou’s bedroom, gently pushing the door open.
As expected, Aizou didn’t move. He was so quietly asleep that Yujiro briefly wondered if he was even alive. He tiptoed into the room, looking around. When he arrived at Aizou’s bedside, he stood there silently with his arms folded, contemplating on if he was really going to do it.
Just for tonight, then…
Yujiro nodded to himself and climbed into Aizou’s bed as he slept, careful not to smack his face or elbow his side. He felt Aizou shifting, but paid it no attention. The idiot was still sleeping like the dead, after all.
He snuggled into Aizou’s bed, bringing the covers up. He sighed softly to himself, finally feeling more at ease than he had in the past month.
He closed his eyes.
As long as I wake up before Aizou, it’s fine.
He finally dozed off.
_____
Having successfully managed to wake up only a few hours later, Yujiro snuck out of Aizou’s room and went back to his own to get ready for the day. While in the kitchen drinking his morning chocolate milk, Aizou came shuffling out, yawning.
“Good morning.”
“Morning,” Yujiro nodded absently at him.
Aizou yawned and began to prepare breakfast.
Yujiro held back a grin.
It worked. He snuck into Aizou’s bed and slept next to him without Aizou suspecting anything!
“Something funny?” Aizou glanced at him with a raised eyebrow, cracking eggs into his pan.
“No, nothing. Just remembered a funny dream.”
“A funny dream?”
“Yeah, you were in it.”
“What’d I do in it?” Aizou smiled a bit.
“Existed. You were a clown.”
The smile wiped off of Aizou’s face as he sputtered.
Yujiro snickered and rinsed his cup before moving to sit at the dining room table. Not long after, Aizou came over to set two plates of omelettes down, huffing.
“You’re mean,” Aizou grumbled.
“I know. But you love me anyway.”
“Watch it, brat…”
_____
That night, after eating dinner and getting ready for bed together, both Yujiro and Aizou retired to their bedroom for the night.
Yujiro waited until eleven at night, when he was sure Aizou would be asleep.
I can’t rest…so…one more night.
He tiptoed to Aizou’s bedroom, pushing the door open again. He smiled upon seeing Aizou already asleep, exhausted from the day’s events.
He padded his bare feet over to Aizou’s bed, and quietly climbed into bed with him, just like the previous night.
Just like the previous night, his getting into Aizou’s bed disturbed him a bit, causing him to shift.
He’s such a heavy sleeper…
Yujiro smirked to himself, closing his eyes. He jumped slightly upon feeling Aizou’s arms wrap around him. He peeked up at him to make sure he was actually asleep.
Seeing that he was, Yujiro smiled to himself and closed his eyes.
_____
And again, he was able to wake up before Aizou.
He managed to sneak out of his bed and go back to his room to get ready for the day.
After Aizou prepared their breakfast, consisting of rice this time, he sat across from him.
“Hey, Yujiro?”
“Yeah?”
“I was thinking.”
“Oh no.”
“Now, now. Listen to me first. I was thinking- what if we had a movie night tonight?” Aizou hummed.
“A movie night?”
“Yeah. Since we don’t have to get up early tomorrow, we can stay up a bit later and watch movies in the living room.”
Yujiro pondered this.
On one hand, he would have an excuse to fall asleep with Aizou, and on the other…well, there was the possibility of Aizou carrying him to his bedroom after one of the movies.
Would risking it really be worth it?
To him, the answer was obvious.
“Sure. As long as I get to choose the movie.”
Aizou rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, sure.”
Yujiro grinned and finished his rice.
The day went on, and they got home in the evening. Aizou even decided to order pizza for dinner, and by Yujiro’s insistence, lava cakes as well.
While eating their pizza, the two watched a few musicals that their old senpais- Mifuyu and Kazuma, were in. To be honest, now that Yujiro saw them more in movies like these and saw how they interacted, he wondered how he’d ever thought they were straight, back when he was fourteen.
The two were definitely in love, and they weren’t subtle about it.
As they binged their third movie- all trash already thrown away, Yujiro dozed off with his head on Aizou’s shoulder. He vaguely heard Aizou chuckle, but was too tired to tell him off.
Unfortunately, upon waking up, it was one in the morning, and he was in his bed.
He pouted, and got up, walking out of his room to go join Aizou in his room. Once again, he snuck in, and Aizou shifted.
He fell asleep rather quickly.
_____
For the next few weeks, this kept going on, and much to Yujiro’s amusement, Aizou remained completely oblivious. He even started daring himself to give Aizou’s cheek a kiss every night before falling asleep.
Every single night, at eleven on the dot, Yujiro would sneak into Aizou’s room and snuggle next to him, give him a kiss on his cheek, sleep until five in the morning, then go back to his room and get ready for the day.
One night, however, Yujiro was drop dead tired from all of their work. They had so many lessons, so many interviews, radio talk shows, and even a live show lasting until nine at night.
When they got home, he kicked his shoes off and stumbled to his bedroom. He didn’t even bother changing out of his clothes. He just flopped onto his bed and passed out immediately.
When he woke up, it was only ten minutes until two in the morning. He yawned and rubbed his eyes, frowning.
Why am I..? Ah…
He got up and stumbled out of his room to do what he did every night. He went to Aizou’s room to join him.
To his shock, Aizou was still awake, scrolling through his phone. He looked up when Yujiro opened the door.
Yujiro froze, caught red handed.
“It’s about time. I was wondering when you would join me,” Aizou chuckled, putting his phone on his nightstand. “It’s gotten harder to sleep without you, you know? You shouldn’t keep me waiting.”
Yujiro stood at the doorway.
“H-huh..?”
“Come on,” Aizou scooted over, patting the area next to him. “Like I said, I was waiting.”
“You…you knew? For how long?” Yujiro asked dumbly.
“Pretty much from day one?” Aizou snorted, “it’s kinda hard not to feel someone else climbing into bed with you. And, after the first few nights, you even started giving me goodnight kisses, right?” he smirked.
Yujiro’s face turned bright red.
“How cute,” Aizou teased, opening his arms up. “Come on. I’m tired.”
Yujiro hesitated, but walked over.
The moment he was at the edge of Aizou’s bed, Aizou leaned over and grabbed him in a big hug, pulling him onto his bed. Yujiro let out a surprised shriek as Aizou snuggled with him, his arms wrapped tightly around him.
“...Why haven’t you said anything..?” Yujiro mumbled, frowning.
“Well…I thought it was too cute. That you’d stop doing it if I mentioned it,” Aizou kissed his forehead, the bridge of his nose, his nose, his cheeks, then along his jawline.
Yujiro pouted.
Aizou laughed and kissed his lips gently.
“Hey, Yujiro…”
“What now..? I thought you were tired…” Yujiro grumbled.
“Why don’t you just move into my room? We can keep your room as a guest room, or something,” Aizou suggested.
“A-as if…”
“Ehh. But you sleep in my room every night anyway~?” Aizou squeezed him in a small hug, laughing softly. “You really can’t be honest with yourself, you tsundere.”
“I’m not…”
“Mhm.” Aizou smirked and gave him one more kiss on the lips. “Goodnight, my little moon prince.”
“Shut up.”
“My other half~”
“G-go to sleep or else I’m going back to my room..!”
“Right…and then I’ll see you again in an hour or so when you sneak back?” Aizou teased.
Yujiro sulked at him. As much as he absolutely wanted to deny it, he knew Aizou was right. Aizou laughed at him and closed his eyes.
“Really, though…goodnight, Yujiro. Give what I said some thought.” Aizou yawned, already dozing off.
Yujiro frowned and nestled a bit closer to Aizou, letting his warmth envelope him.
Stupid Aizou…the answer’s obvious, isn’t it?
He closed his eyes.
You’re my other half too…
