He clearly remembered that vibrant summer day. A little too hot for his liking, but nothing new in Hengdian about the weather. He'd been here for a decade. Had known the pathways like the back of his hand, rampant hustle and bustle of equipment and orders being barked at the staff (whether form his production or the next to them), felt just like another accessory to the busy day.
Zhang Zhehan held his mini fan closer. The air wasn't enough to cool his body down, but it will at least keep his make-up up and prevent his face from sweating. He'd pity the make up team if they have to redo his whole face. They'll wrap up in an hour if everything goes smoothly.
To his right was Gong Jun, holding his own mini electric fan while holding Wen Kexing's one on the other. It was open and held above Gong Jun's head, shielding both him and Zhang Zhehan from the sun.
It made him smile. He'd known for a long time that understanding in this industry is hard to come by, sometimes it wouldn't even occur at all. But now, Zhang Zhehan felt something tugging in his chest. A mechanism long dull from infrequent use that he forgot exists sometimes since he himself is what usually filled that role.
Gong Jun scoots closer to his side, fan still held above his head. Gong Jun tentatively looked around for any fansites or just zooming out to the distance. Though in this small two person bubble there was only the rustle of leaves and wind that seemed to carry the heat rather than cool them down. In the midst of this, Zhang Zhehan nurtured the smile on his face.
It boils pleasantly and somehow cools him down better than the mini fan.
He giggled. Gong Jun looked at him, an eyebrow raised in curiosity.
Zhang Zhehan looked at him, the crescent of his eyes softly displaying themselves.
This man beside him looks concerned now. Though he won't ask, he knew Gong Jun wont push him. Another thing he loves about him.
Zhang Zhehan leaned his head to the shoulders beside him.
For the first time in Zhang Zhehan's life, love doesn't feel hot and searing to his whole being. It felt cold, shielded him from the sun and looked at him with unbridled curiosity. Love is the person beside him not caring if he looks ridiculous carrying two fans but using none to cool himself down, squinting at the shorter Zhang Zhehan still calming down from an epiphany.
"Zhang Laoshi?"
"Nothing, it's nothing. It's hot today." He commented.
There's just so much he felt, yet so little he could put into words.
"Should we go to the umbrellas? It's better if-"
"No, just stay still," Zhang Zhehan readjusted his head on Gong Jun's shoulder.
"It's cool enough here."
