Work Text:

General Grievous was on his private ship, heading to a meeting on a different planet. The leaders had talked about surrendering and giving a Jedi prisoner, as a peace offering. And such a deal General Grievous would never refuse so he was making haste.

Unknowingly to him, the place where he was being warped by reality itself. Yet he had no time to pay attention to that, as he was setting his ship to lightspeed so he can travel in hyperspace. But when his ship was traveling like that, it was taking longer than Grievous had expected.

This wasn’t normal, and he at first thought a piece of his ship was broken. A dire situation this was, to say the least. Fortunate for him reality had now stopped warping. And he found his ship coming out of hyperspace on a fully different planet.

And it was crash landing into a forest, General Grievous had no time to react and his ship crashed into some farmland. Nevertheless General Grievous was totally fine and unharmed. He got out of his ship and started to cough loudly while setting foot on this planet.

“The inhabits here better help me out”. He said to himself in an annoyed voice as he started to walk towards the light in the distance. It was nighttime and there seemed to be a city close by. So he made haste, and while doing so he was scanning the surroundings.

It was best described to him as old, the plants were strange the roads were made from stone. And the houses he was seeing were made from wood. It tapped into his mind, and he got reminded of home?. What was happening it had been so long ago since such a thought ever entered his mind.

He shrug off those thoughts and he was now walking through some forest that was blocking the village. He hadn’t spotted a single habit of this planet, but that was about to change. Since a small girl now ran out of bamboo. “You there!” General Grievous quickly said while pointing his finger at her.

The girl turned around to face him, and she had a muzzle in her mouth and just tilted her head a little bit. Confused about what this thing was. General Grievous was also confused, she seemed to be human but there was this strange aura that she wasn’t one at the same time.

“I demand your help right now, show me your leader”. He demanded while walking towards her. He expected her to know who and what he was capable of. But she was just trying to figure out if he was a threat or not.

“NEZUKO!”, a scream could be heard as a boy jumped in front of the girl wielding a very primal weapon just a mere sword. The boy saw this person as a demon, and he was not taking any risks. Nezuko stayed behind him, trusting that her brother knew what to do.

General Grievous was a bit taken back by the bravery of this boy. He let out a small cough before grabbing his cape and laying it on the floor. This boy had determination and he didn’t sense fear, but he would die the same. Such a weapon could never withstand his power.

“Lay down your weapon kid, I didn’t come with war. Yet I will bring destruction to this planet”. All of that sounded like a demon talk to Tanjiro so he just took a deep breath and prepared himself for the fight that was about to happen there was a clear opening string he saw.

Yet all of that faded away the moment General Grievous's arms split apart and he grabbed his 4 lightsabers and ignited them all. That drove fear in the heart of Tanjiro who was wondering what he even was at this point. Maybe he was some sort of demon slayer he hadn’t heard of before.

He did a small step back and General Grievous merely laughed when seeing such weakness. “Are you a demon slayer?”. Tanjiro asked, and General Grievous seemed puzzled by such a question. Was a demon here a word for Jedi? it made the most sense to him.

“Of course”. He spoke out, and Tanjiro lowered his weapon and did it back in his sheet. It was forbidden after all to fight a different demon slayer. And General Grievous put out his lightsabers as well and picked up his cape and did it on again.

“Forgive me, your appearance simply scared me. I didn’t know people like you were allowed in the corps”. Tanjiro said in an apologetic voice while bowing down a bit, and seeing this made General Grievous very happy, to say the least. However, he was a bit annoyed when seeing Nezuko clinging onto Tanjiro. It seems like she was aware he was bad news.

She was a problem to be dealt later with, for now, General Grievous hid his hands behind his back and walked passed Tanjiro with little to no care. Tanjiro assumed the man was a demon who was able to have joined the demon corpse. It was a strange theory but it was the only one that made sense in his mind.

Tanjiro now stood up straight again and walked next to General Grievous. “My name is Tanjiro, and that is my sister Nezuko. What can I call you?”. He asked in a respectful manner, as he seemed to be much older and much more experienced.

“General Grievous, now where is your leader?”. He asked in a stern voice while walking towards the village. But Tanjiro now stepped in front of him stopping him dead in his track. He waited for him to say something first before pushing him to the side.

“It not best if we go into the village there is a demon on the loose, I was hunting it with my sister”. He spoke to him, and Grievous just thought there was a Jedi here and these people hunted Jedi? This planet was already very much to his liking he would fix his ship later. Now he had to make a fine addition to his collection.

He turned around and now rushed towards the forest, grabbing all 4 lightsabers again. And Tanjiro hurried after him, his sister following him closely. And he could smell a demon approaching them rapidly. Twigs were being broken and leaves were getting trampled.

General Grievous 4 lightsabers got powered on again, he imagined a Jedi rushing towards them. So he was surprised when seeing a creature that looked like a massive grasshopper with a human head. It was at least 11 feet tall, it reminded him of something he used to hunt back in the days.

He was frozen for once, he didn’t know how to act. Small memories were coming back in his twisted mind, Tanjiro on the other hand quickly struck the demon, but it was all foggy to General Grievous water appeared or something what force abilities were this? He was confused.

“Water wheel!” Tanjiro screamed out, and he used the form to cut off the legs that were attempting to stomp down on him. After that, his claws quickly regrew this demon seemingly had great regeneration. He stepped back a bit trying to see the best tactic to handle this demon.

No plan however needed to be made, as General Grievous jumped in front of him. And two blades started to spin rapidly, it was very pretty to look at. And Tanjiro and Nezuko were amazed by how he was fighting.

The demon strikes his claw towards him, but in mere seconds the entire thing was sliced off. Like it was a knife cutting salami into pieces, the demon attempted to regenerate the claw instantly. But he used his other two lightsabers to hack at his legs. And they quickly got separated from the main body.

“You fool,” he said happily as the demon was now crawling on the floor in pain and misery everytime it attempted to regenerate it got sliced off. Tanjiro was very curious to know what breathing style he was using.

General Grievous raised two lightsabers and he brought them down, and it was a
diagonal slash. Cutting him from the shoulders only stopping when the two lightsabers touched one another. The demon was dead now, and lastly General Grievous kicked him in the head and the separated body part fell onto the ground. And the body was now fading away.

Tanjiro was overjoyed by how the fight went, and Nezuko seemed ecstatic by the inconceivable power. Maybe this man wasn’t as bad as she thought. But General Grievous was searching for a lightsaber. However, he soon realized he had misinterpreted the words of Tanjiro, seems like demons were nothing more than animals here but he searched for Jedi.

“Where are the Jedi?”. He questioned Tanjiro who seemed confused, he had no clue what that even was. He looked at Nezuko as if maybe it was some sort of demon way of talking but she shrugged her head as she also had no idea what it was

“I am sorry I do not understand it”. Tanjiro said to him, as he wanted to help General Grievous but he was words that simply were out of his reach. Grievous turned of all his lightsabers again. And now he was starting to think about a new theory on why he was here.

Maybe this planet is so far away nobody has reached it yet, they are unaware of other planets and live very primal. Which meant his ship couldn’t be repaired. This was bad, he needed to get out of her as soon as possible. He still had no idea this wasn’t even his own universe anymore.

So now Grievous would have to explain to these kids that he came from a different planet. “You shall not grasp that, but let me give you instructions. I am from a different planet, one far more advanced than this one. And I need to get back now”. He said sounding fed up by the entire situation he had been placed in.

Tanjiro couldn’t believe it, his eyes widened. What he was wearing made sense and also didn’t. Before he also didn’t believe demons were real, but they were. So this wasn’t too far-fetched in his eyes. And it could explain how this man looked like nothing he had ever seen before. No type of book no drawings no stories had ever depicted such a man.

Nezuko just seemed tired of all of this and didn’t understand what the man was talking about. So she kept close to her brother for if anything would turn badly. “I don’t know what to say”. He was speechless there was nothing that could be said.

General Grievous was also speechless, the reality of the situation had fully kicked in and he was mad. He needed to release his fury on something, he was tempted to strike down these two kids but he withhold they were the only two aware of his situation, and without a doubt, he was going to need them for later.

“Bring me another one of these demons, I am hungry for a challenge”. He said to Tanjiro, and right at that moment a crow came who gave him new instructions, there was a new demon. And Tanjiro saw this as a great chance to get General Grievous into a demon slayer as well.

He turned towards him and he had a small smile on his face. “There is one north, should we go tog-”. Before he could finish his sentence General Grievous was already heading north, which was towards his ship. Nezuko and Tanjiro once again followed him, as he was basically doing their job for them.

“So how did you even get here General Grievous?”. Tanjiro asked him curiously, and he simply gave him a dead stare in return. He was not in the mood to answer such questions of an ignorant kid, but he also couldn’t blame him. He just told him probably the most shocking information in his life.

He was silent as Tanjiro backed away in fear. “It’s just Grievous now, and my ship crash landed we should stumble across it soon”. And right when he spoke that they were now walking on the farmland and Tanjiro spotted the ship and he couldn’t keep his eyes off it.

He rushed towards it together with Nezuko and the two siblings stared at it with confusion. But also amazement they had never seen such things before. He was also a bit scared to touch anything but the material was already way out of his league.

Grievous was pretty annoyed with how they reacted to it, it was just a waste of time. They were like clueless animals to him, helpless and useless. But they could be guided to become real warriors. Maybe this was the opportunity to create an army made from living beings instead of robots. Perhaps he was thinking too much as a general again, here he was nothing but an outsider.

He just stood there looking up at the sky, wondering what has gotten into him once he had landed on this planet. “Grievous? um I was wondering you aren’t human what are you?”. He asked sounding unsure not wanting to disrespect the warrior as he fully believed he could easily slaughter him.

Grievous was silent once again still looking up at the sky, and he started coughing a bit again. “I was-... I am a powerful warrior, merely upgraded by robotic parts. I am, no was a general”. He spoke in a somber and defeated voice but suddenly he felt his hand being touched. And it was Nezuko holding his hand, trying to comfort the saddened cyborg.

It wanted to pull away but didn’t, it just wanted to demolish something to release all the hatred just like he had been thought. “Well come on, let's not waste any more time”. Tanjiro said with a smile on his face as he started running further north and Nezuko ran after him.

Grievous got on all 4 limbs and quickly crawled after the two, maybe this new planet wouldn’t be this bad. And if neither the Sith nor Jedi found this before there was nothing to worry about that he would be found. And the control of the sith over him also was breaking apart.

He would spend the rest of his life on the planet, becoming in a strange sense a father figure for the two kids. He lived in the secret of the rest of the world, and become a demon slayer. And he was never found, and he was a great hunter just like back in the old days before he was a Jedi slayer. He felt happiness again, he felt worthy.
