Work Text:
With every decision you make
You grow up
Little by little
A lot you still gotta learn
And experience in this life
That is so, so precious
You didn't have the headstart
like all the others had
when growing up
For you never imagined
You'd have enough time
On this world
To ever really having to care about reaching maturity and to thrive in this world
But now you don't just gotta hold on
For dear life
With the seconds running out
Like the sand in an hourglass
Despaired and dwarwed by
This guilty wish for death
Crying for your blood
Your grip gets stronger and stronger
Day by day as long as you fight
A vice-grip that holds you in this existence
And with every step you take
You enforce that vice
until it is amaranth and diamond
Finally defiant
For life is a jewel
Finally begining to glitter brilliantly
After a lifetime of just being
Incased in dirtstained stone
Cut open for the first time
To be marveled over
Don't let go of this defiance
Cackle in deaths face and his beckoning nature
Don't loose yourself in his warm embrace
For it is only a deceitful appearance
For nothing is worth taking this leap into nothingness
It will hurt and you will cry bitterly
Again and again
For living is not only beautiful
but also horrendously painful
your feet will shred on the path you take
They will bleed and scab and heal over
You will fall over rough and smooth and
Break open the palms of your hands
On tree trunks that won't let you pass
With their enourmous width
It will feel unsurmountable
And you're going to feel crushed
And giving up will feel so much easier
And maybe even
Like the right choice
But it isn't
It'll never be the better choice
As long as there is still time
for life to blossom
It will never be the right choice
Remember that.
