Chapter Text
Max Caulfield is currently free falling 35,000 feet, or 10668 meters if you’re British which Max is in fact not, barreling towards the ground without a parachute. Her smart idea was to go back in time to when she was 10, and threaten to jump out of a plane to slightly change the future and stay in Arcadia Bay, while maybe getting herself some therapy while she was at it. What she didn’t expect was to accidentally fall out of said plane. Just her luck.
Max was completely and utterly screwed. She was rewinding, and rewinding but couldn’t get back in the plane. She rewound over and over again, each time slowing her momentum slightly. Her nose was slick with blood and her head felt like it was about to burst out of her skull but she couldn’t stop now. Too soon she reached the ground going too fast.
Black.
“Hey?”
The girl looked at the strange man.
“What’s your name?”
“Ummm,”
“Do you not know it?”
The girl shook her head.
“I’ll just call you Umm for now”, the man smiled. “Cause that’s all you’re saying.”
“Hey!” The girl said. “That’s a horrible name. At least call me something like M. That’s closer to” She trails off. What was M closer to?
“Hey it’s ok Em,” the man says after seeing the confusion and panic in the girl’s eyes. “The doctor said that you probably went through severe blunt trauma and will forget some things for a while.”
“Doctor?” ‘Em looked around at her surroundings for the first time. She was in a white room on a bed. There were machines beeping around her. “I’m in a hos-“
Em tried to remember the word. “Hosp-“ She stopped.
“Hospital” the man supplied. “I’m Spencer Reid and I’m the one who found you. I’ll be taking care of you until we find your parents.”
“Ok,” Em responded, and she slowly slipped back into unconsciousness.
