Work Text:

Macaque was careful as he slowly moved the plum tree into its new home in the ground. Gently patting in the roots before covering it with dirt.
His hood covered over his face to spare him from the scorching sun. The wind bellowed, blowing the fur of his hair into his face. A smile was on his face as he looked at his little plum tree.
He tensed as a shadow fell over him, growing bigger and bigger...Macaque gasped as the ground shook, covering his tree so it didn't uproot like the other plants around.
"Wukong!" He chided as he turned to look at the monkey behind him only to freeze.
Wukong was covered in the ripped fabrics of his armor, metal dented and hanging off him and covered in blood.
Scratches littered his fur and his red eyes seemed darker than normal.
Macaque drew his bottom lip intonhis mouth as he reached out a hand toward the other, "Wu, are you okay-"
He was cut off as he was suddenly pulled into a kiss.
It wasn't that they hadn't kissed before, no, they had kissed ....alot. but this kiss was a burning fire that was hardly contained. Wukong held his waist as he leaned over him, forcing Macaque to crane his head all the way up. He could feel Wukong's fangs, just shy of piercing his skin. This kiss wasn't the soft careful ones that Macaque was used to. This one was dominating and possessive. The hold the king had one him was borderline painful.
Macaque gasped as he pulled away, drawing in a breath when the kiss went on far longer than he expected.
"Wu-" He was cut off again by another kiss as he was pressed to the ground. Hands pulling him close as Sun Wukong crawled over him. "I need you." The words were desperate as Wukong began to suck on Macaque's jaw, hands pulling his thighs around the other's trimmed waist. Macaque shivered as those powerful hips grinded down against him.
"Peaches." Macaque captured Wukong's face, staring into those crimson eyes. "What happened."
"I ate the Peaches."
Macaque's brows furrowed , "What?"
"The Peaches, I ate them. The Peaches of immortality."
Macaque felt a cold dread pass through him, "What, why?" He tried to push himself up but couldn't with the weight ontop of him. "How- how many did you eat?"
"Seven."
"Wukong..."
Hands captured his face, "You should be happy, I can protect us now."
Macaque pursed his lips, feeling tears prickle at his eyes. Or doom us, he thought. He was aware of Wukong's wishes to be equal to that of heaven to be among them, but he knew that would never happen. Wukong stealing the immortal Peaches and eating all of them had just alienated him more made him an enemy if the heavens even if he didn't realize it. And that scared Macaque, because even though Wukong might be immortal that didn't mean he was safe. There were things far worse than death. Macaque knew that well.
"Sun, maybe we can still-" Macaque paused, shifting under that gaze that took in his every move.
Wukong was practically thrumming, his ego high on getting one over heaven, there would be no talking him down now.
Relaxing under the other Macaque watched him through his lashes, "And what does that make you now?"
Wukong grinned, drawing closer until their breaths became one, "A god. "
Macaque lifted his chin in challenge, "Oh, and you're a god now are you?"
Wukong grinned, fingers idly undoing the sash around around Macaque's waist, "I'm a stone Demon, as I am a divine deity. I am the great sage equal to heaven, I am the monkey king, I am a god, I simply am."
Macaque drew in a breath as sharp fangs traced down his neck, "Then surely such an infinite being as yourself has no need for a lowly mortal as me." He mumbled, his tone still a challenging one but even he couldn't keep the slight fear from his voice. Because it was true, Wukong was now seven times immortal, why would he need Macaque? Macaque who would wither away and die, who would retain any of his beauty as Wukong would. Macaque who was just weak and fragile and well....mortal.
He was pulled from his thoughts as his hands were grabbed and pulled over his head, the body atop his forcing its way between his legs, pulling one of his legs up to kiss at his thigh that was exposed as the skirt of his hanfu slipped down. "I am all those things, but I am yours. Anything you wish I will give you. My mind, my soul, the heart right out of my chest."
Macaque smiled tightly, then why are you trying so hard to be away from me? He thought .
"What do you mean?" Wukong asked suddenly and Macaque flinched as he realized he had spoken outloud. "Nothing, it's just... you're going down a path I can't follow."
Wukong pulled away and Macaque missed his warmth as he watched the other get to his feet, anger clear on his features. "So what then? You want me to stop? It's not like I can reverse a typing and even so why would I?"
Macaque flinched again, curling in on himself as he sat up. "I didn't-"
"I thought you'd be happy that I'm finally accomplishing the one thing I wanted. I though you loved me enough to."
Macaque blinked, feeling his eyes stings, "I do-"
"It doesn't feel like it." Wukong started back, anger lining the tense set of his shoulders as with each step he left craters of his feet.
Macaque could only watch him go, tears falling freely as he did his best to stifle the sobs. But even he couldn't quiet the his broken pleas, "Don't leave me."
