Work Text:

"So, wait, how did this happen again?" Asked Anne from Sasha's right, brows furrowed in worry as she glanced at the blonde's new cast. The painkillers hadn't kicked in yet, and her leg was aching up a storm.

"I was practicing for the upcoming game but I landed on my foot all weird," grumbled Sasha, arms crossed and pouting. She glared at her foot like it had done this on purpose. "Now I'm stuck walking around with this thing for six weeks."

Marcy placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling at her girlfriend in hopes of comforting her, "Come on, Sash, it's not that bad! Time will fly by, you'll see!" Anne happily agreed with her smaller girlfriend.

Sasha groaned, and slumped further back into the cot of the nurses office, glare still fixed on the cast. She was grateful for her girlfriends' but she was frustrated, "This sucks..." she mumbled, her glare softening somewhat. The pain was like an itch she couldn't scratch, a dull, throbbing pain that reminded Sasha of a stress induced headache. "I mean I've fought killer birds, overthrew a king and led a rebellion, and I came out perfectly fine," the blonde pointedly ignored the twinge at her back, "and one little miss step during cheer practice is what puts me out of commission for six weeks? This is bullshit," the teen thought of every curse under the sun as she continued to glower at her injury. An injury that was minor, and one she considered an inconvenience.

Her girls' shared a glance, worried looks passing between them. "Sasha...," Anne said softly, her hand finding its way to Sasha's. The blonde squeezed, sighing as she leaned back into the pillows.

"It'll be fine. Six weeks isn't that long, and Anne and I will be there for you every step of the way!" Marcy's hand also found its way into the blonde's grasp.

Sasha managed a small smile. "Thanks guys." Her mood lightened, even just slightly, at her girlfriends' words.

Not too long after that, her father arrived to pick her up and take her home. The nurse instructed Sasha to be kept on bed rest for the next few days before she could use crutches, and recommended that they get her painkillers. The blonde was less than pleased with the news but didn't put up a fuss, not when her head was resting on Anne's shoulder, and her hand was laced with Marcy's.

Her girl's had asked to tag along for the ride home and if they could spend the night. Sasha's father had been more than happy to have them over, saying how his 'future-daughters-in-law' were always welcome in his home. The trio had turned crimson at the words, sputtering and scrambling to say something while Sasha's father barked a laugh. During the ride home, Anne and Marcy had informed their parents of their plans, Sasha squished between them with a hand clasped in each of theirs. The combination of their warmth and the painkillers was making her drowsy as the blonde teetered in and out of sleep, her eyes heavy and head tilting to the side before she shot up, suddenly wide awake. The cycle repeated itself for a few minutes until Anne wrapped an arm around her, pulling her in close.

"Anne?" Sasha had questioned, face flushed by the unexpected affection, but the other girl merely raised a brow.

"Yeah?"

"Nothing...'' The girl quickly hid her face in the crook of Anne's neck, her face burning. She heard her girlfriend huff a laugh, clearly aware of the effect she had on the Waybright. Sasha chuckled, unable to get even a little annoyed with the other as she nuzzled further into her neck, her thumb tracing circles on the back of Marcy's hand. Her motions eventually slowed, sleep effectively taking over as she lost herself in their comforting presence.

Unbeknownst to the trio, Sasha's father looked on with a found smile, peering at them through the rear view mirror.

//

"Sashy..."

The blonde's nose scrunched, face contorting in protest. Snuggling further into the warm pillow at her side, Sasha relaxed, sleep quickly taking a hold of her again.

"Sasha, it's time to wake up."

That voice...it sounded gorgeous. "Mmhh, pretty..." was all she could string together, her mind foggy and body heavy.

"Sasha," a new voice chuckled, their laugh sounding like honey to Sasha's ears, "we're at your house. You need to get up."

The blonde shook her head weakly, too content with the soft embrace of her pillow. "Comfy...'' She tried to communicate her feelings, but the words rested like led on her tongue, too heavy for her to truly grasp as her mind swam in the fog. Despite her protests however, someone lightly shook her shoulder.

"Come on, Sashimi. Your dad says you can have ice cream~" the voice allured, making the blonde's body practically turn into jelly.

Slowly, Sasha opened her eyes and left the soothing warm of her pillow. Looking up, her gaze met an amused Anne's, her wide smile so soft and full of affection that the blonde felt the overwhelming urge to kiss her. "Wow..." she said breathlessly, her heart beating a little faster.

"Sash?"

Looking next to her, the blonde was again amazed at her girlfriend's beauty. Marcy was smiling at her with a slight look of concern, her head tilted in that cute way she always does when curious about something.

"You guys are so pretty..." Sasha whispered, almost out of breath as her gaze fleeted between Marcy and Anne who glanced at each other before turning their attention back to her.

"You are such a simp, Waybright," Anne chuckled, Marcy laughing alongside her. Sasha was left confused but her heart raced when she heard their laughs. They were absolutely beautiful and it stirred a flame in her chest that made the blonde wonder if her body had been set on fire.

She felt dizzy, her mind in a daze as she looked up and muttered, "Jesus, thank you for blessing me with two beautiful girlfriends."

"Sasha!" Marcy sputtered, face beet red. Anne had gone ridged, her mouth agape and faced an equally deep red.

"Okay! Let's get you inside." Anne scrambled to help the blonde out of the car. She took great care assuring that Sasha didn't bump her broken leg or place too much pressure on it. When she was completely outside of the car, Anne swept Sasha off her feet. The blonde yelped, her arms instinctively wrapping around the others neck while her face hid in the girl's shoulder. Anne adjusted the Waybright in her hold, ensuring that her legs were secure and that the top half of her body was pressed against her front. "You okay Sasha?" The blonde nodded, face still hidden in the other girl's shoulder. Once Anne felt comfortable enough to move without worrying that she would drop her girlfriend, the Boonchuy walked towards the door with Marcy right behind her.

Mr. Waybright had just unlocked the front door, the trio's school bags in hand. "Are you sure you're okay, Anne? I can take her if she's too heavy?"

"I've got her, Mr. Waybright, don't worry!" She beamed at him and made her way inside.

Sasha's father shrugged, "Can't argue with one of the girls who helped save the world."

"Technically it was two dimensions," added Marcy, skipping past the man and into the house where Anne was already placing Sasha on the sofa. Sasha however refused to let Anne go, her arms still wrapped securely around her neck. The tennis player leaned over her girlfriend, trying to escape the girl's grasp but the blonde remained firm despite her loopy state.

"Sasha, you have to let go," Anne tried to pry the others hands off but with little success.

"Nooo!" Sasha drawled, her grip tightening.

The man shook his head at his daughter's antics, "Well I have to head back to work, but I can trust you two to look after my daughter, right?" He asked, placing their school bags on the kitchen counter as well as a small brown paper bag with Sasha's painkillers. The girls looked up at him, and smiled. "Great. You girls can help yourself to whatever's in the fridge and be sure Sasha takes her painkillers before bed."

"Okay, thank you Mr. Waybright!" Called Anne as she finally managed to loosen Sasha's grip, tumbling to the floor in a heap while the blonde groaned.

"Marcy! Anne's being mean!"

"What? No I'm not!"

"Bye, sir!" Waved Marcy, as she went over to her girls.

The man shook his head fondly before leaving, happy to know that his daughter would be safe, even when he heard a crash come from inside the house.

Two days later, all three girls were snuggled on the couch with bowls of chocolate ice cream in hand as they watched some trashy reality tv. Sasha was less loopy, her leg propped up on a pillow on the coffee table. The pain was nothing but a dull throb, and the painkillers that her father had gotten her made her far less loopy then the one the nurse had gotten her. However, Anne and Marcy had still managed to get more than a handful of pictures and videos of her snuggling into them, and going on and on about how beautiful each of them were.

"Ag! I hate this! This is so boring, can't we do something else?" The blonde asked. Don't get her wrong, she loved spending time with Anne and Marcy, but for the past few days all they had been doing was sit around and watch tv. She was becoming restless. Her body was constantly moving, her fingers either drumming lightly on her thigh, or her good leg bouncing up and down. Her frustration towards her injury was making it difficult to enjoy the time she was spending with the others.

"Is there anything you wanna do?" Asked Marcy as she scooped another spoon of ice cream into her mouth.

Mr. Waybright was still at work, Anne and Marcy deciding to visit Sasha after school and spend another night. It was just after dinner, and the girls had long since finished their homework.

"Can we go for a walk? Maybe we could go to the mall?" Sasha asked eagerly, glancing between her girlfriends with a look of excitement.

"Sorry, Sash, but you've gotta stay off that leg as much as possible," Anne interjected, the blonde groaning while the other offered her a comforting smile, "Is there something else you want to do?"

"But I can walk with my crutches!"

"Anne's got a point, Sash. You'll heal faster the more you rest," added Marcy, finishing the last of her frozen treat, the empty bowl resting in her lap.

"I know you hate this, but you have to take it easy," Anne placed a hand in hers, and squeezed to convey her affections, "In the meantime though, until your leg is healed, we can do other stuff."

"Like what? Watch more dumb reality tv?" The blonde said sarcastically, brow furrowed, her hand squeezing back.. She wasn't trying to be mean, and her girlfriends' knew that.

"We could…" Anne trailed off, smirking at Marcy as she gestured to the sulking blond. The gamer instantly caught on, displaying her own blinding smile. "cuddle pile!" They shouted in union, tackling the blonde. Wrapping their arms tightly around her, they laid their full weight on top of the girl in the middle.

"Anne! Marcy!" The cheerleader cried in protest, laughing as she wiggled in her girlfriends' hold. Without mercy, Marcy began to tickle her, slender fingers racking up and down her sides as the cheerleader writhed in Anne's grip, who was holding her in place. "Guys! Stop!" Sasha's boisterous laughter filled the room. She tried getting out of the other girls hold but Anne's grip was iron tight on her wrists, forcing her to stay in place while Marcy continued to tickle her up and down her sides.

Sasha threw her head back, overrun with laughter. "Stop! Please! Stop!" Her girls'laughed along side her, happy to see their once frustrated girlfriend smile for the first time since she broke her leg. They continued their tickle attack for a few more seconds before Anne finally released her wrists, the blonde collapsing into Marcy as she giggled airly.

Marcy couldn't help but hug her tall girlfriend, grinning like the love struck fool that she is. Sasha wrapped her arms around her waist, holding her close as she laughed into her neck.

"Feeling better, Waybright?" Chuckled Anne.

"Shut up, Boonchuy," huffed Sasha, still cuddled close into their shorter girlfriend. The blonde sighed, regaining her breathe, and leaned back to peck Marcy on the cheek. The girl flushed, Sasha smiling as her blushing face before she leaned back into the couch.

"Hey! Where's my kiss?"

The cheerleader looked up at Anne, smirking. "I don't know," she shurgged, "come find it."

Anne sputtered, her face suddenly equally as red as Marcy's. Crossing her arms, the tennis player avoided eye contact with her flirty girlfriend. "Aww, did I fluster you, Boonchuy?" Sasha teased, further embarrassing the other who pouted. Puffing out her chest, Anne whirled around to grab the chuckling blonde by her cheeks and pulled her in for a searing kiss. Sasha froze for a moment, caught off guard by the others sudden boldness.

Before she could reciprocate the kiss however, Anne pulled back and spring to her feet, face turned to the side to hide her blushing face. She collected their empty bowls and mumbled that she was going to take them to the sink. Sasha watched her, stunned.

Marcy cleared her throat to gain the blondes attention, her own face just as flushed as theirs. "Um, so what else did you want to do Sashimi?" The smaller girl asked.

Sasha looked up at the roof, contemplating her options. Her face was still incredibly warm.

. "Hey, what if we play on my Swap? You could finally give Vagabond Chronicles a try? I also have some fighter games if you're not in the mood for a long narrative?" Suggested Marcy, twiddling her thumbs in a nervous manner.

"How long is it?" Asked Sasha, genuinely curious and hopeful that she might be able to cure her boredom and get ride of her excess energy.

The ravenette avoided eye contact, her hand coming up to rub the back of her neck. "About...eight hours long?"

"Wait, how many games are there?" Asked Anne, brow raised as she came back from the kitchen. Gone was her blush, an easy going smiling on her face as she took a seat beside Sasha.

"Oh no," Marcy waved a hand and shook her head, "that's just the first game. To play all three of them would take about...76 hours," the girl shrugged, lips curled up in an anxious smile as she expected the others to brush off her suggestion for something a little more exciting besides staring at a screen for three days or so days.

"Let's do it." Sasha said a beat later.

"Yeah, it sounds fun," Anne agreed.

Marcy gaped at them, more than a little surprised at their willingness to agree to play a game that they might not even like. "Are you guys sure? I've got Super Smash Dudes if you guys would rather play that?" She asked them, gaze flickering between the floor and the bright blues and browns of the others.

"Of course!" Sasha beamed at her, "Now is a perfect time to give it shot since my leg is busted. And it's a good excuse to cuddle don't you think?" The blonde bumped her shoulder with Marcy's, enticing a giggle from the smaller girl.

"Good point."

"Great! Maybe we could build a pillow fort and pile up on snacks?"

"I like your thinking, Anne," Sasha shot fingers guns her way, and winked. The Boonchuy grinned.

"Oh, thats a great idea! I'll go get some extra blankets!" Marcy raced out of the living room towards the closet in the hall where she knew the Waybright's kept their extra blankets.

Anne raced behind her, and up the stairs, "I'll go grab some more pillows!"

"Get some stuffed animals too!" Called Sasha after her. Anne responded with an excited, "Got it Commander." The cheerleader shook her head at the mention of her old title. While Sasha waited for the others, the blonde grabbed hold of her crutches which were leaned on the furthest side of the couch. Propping herself on them, she made a slow trek toward the garage where they kept the Christmas lights. After all, the best pillow forts had Christmas lights.

When she came up to the door, she leaned on good leg to open the door. Minding the step, Sasha made her way to the pile of boxes near the back. Standing back, she read over the various labels in search of the box dubbed "Christmas decorations". She found it at the very top.

"Oh come on…" she mumbled to herself, scowling at the out of reach box. If it weren't for her stupid leg then this would have been no problem.

"Sasha, where'd you go!"

It was Marcy.

"In the garage!" She called back. Not long after Marcy appeared, her bright smile morphing into a concerned look when she saw how harshly Sasha was glaring at the top box.

"Um, what are you going?"

The blonde gestured to the pile, "I wanted to get the Christmas lights for the fort but the stupid box is all the way at the top," she grumbled.

"Oh I can get them!" Anne came in then. Effortlessly, she grabbed a near by ladder and probbed it on its stands. "Got it!" Slowly, she climbed up and quicklu grabbed the box. Scaling down, she set it down on the floor. Sasha dropped her crutches to lean down and look inside when she found them, she held them out for Marcy to take.

"Thanks, Anne." Marcy helped her up and handed her the crutches, "Thanks, Marcy."

The tennis player took her hand and smiled. "Of course, now come on, we've got a fort to build!"

Together, the three of them went back to the living room where various blankets, stuffed animals and pillowed were thrown together to make a heap. Letting go of Sasha's hand, Anne grabbed the large couch cushions from the long L shaped couch., "Marcy come help me with this, will you?"

"Coming!"

Sasha could only stand back and watch the pair get to work at building the foundation. They set up the pillows in a large square, four of the cushions making up the base while two of them formed the roof. After that, the blonde decided to at least be a little bit usefull and hand the girls pillows and blankets from the pile behind her.

They drapped three of the lighter blankets over the outside, with one over the front to make the door. Then, with Marcy on her knees, she placed the pillows inside the fort to make a comfortable bed as well as the stuffed animals, Sasha handing her each item. While they did that, Anne was in charge of untangling the Christmas lights since she was the most patient out of the three of them and she was far less unlikely to breaking them on accident.

When Marcy was done with the inside, Anne crawled in and strung up the lights by pushing them into the crevices of the fort and laying them around the base. Crawling back out she said, "Alright, Marcy, light em up!"

The smaller girl cheered and plugged them in, the inside of the fort lighting up in a string of rainbow coloured lights. Sasha couldn't help but laugh, earning the attention of Anne and Marcy who quirked a brow at her. "What?" Asked the tennis player.

"Nothing," the blonde chuckled, and gestured to the inside of their fort, "our fort just looks as gay as we do."

The pair looked and sure enough, they could see why Sasha saw that. The various frog plushes, rainbow lights and colorful blankets really did make the whole thing look pretty gay. Marcy snorted, "She's right!" Anne joined in their light hearted laughter, shaking her head at them.

"That just makes it ten times cooler," she added, her girlfriends more then eager to agree.

"I couldn't agree more, Boonchuy. Now come on, we've got video games to play and snacks to devour!" The blonde happily went into the kitchen to grab all their snacks, Anne following closely behind her to help.

"Im gonna go grab my Swap!" Aaid Marcy, quickly going upstairs to look in her backpack for her Swap grabbing the rectangular hand held console as well as the charger and the game. When she came back down stairs, Anne was helping Sasha inside the fort, snacks littering the space just outside the make shift house. "Got my Swap! Are you guys ready to play the best, most adventurous game with so many twists and turns that it will leave you as equally heart broken and as over joyed as I was?" She enthusiastically asled them, her heart punding her ears from her sheer joy of the whole thing.

"Hell yes!" Cheered Sasha, fist pumped up in the air.

"Lets do this!" Anne was just as excited as her girlfriends.

Marcy eagerly joined in the pile, the trio cuddling close together in the small space though none of them minded. With Sasha in the middle, Anne curcled her arm over her middle, heer head placed dricetly next to Sasha's while Marcy made herself comfortable on the blonde's chest. The smallest girl handed the Swap to the cheerleader.

"Okay," Sasha held the device in her hands, fingers positioned over the buttons, "how do you switch this thing on?" Without hesitation, Marcy placed her hand over her girlfriend's and pressed the on button, obviously to how flusteree she was making the other. Anne snorted at the blondes reaction, mumbling 'simp' under her breathe. Sasha lightly elbowed her in response.

They watched as the device booted up, a melody playing in the background. Marcy helped guide Sasha, showing her how to use the controls and what she needed to do. On screen, a dark silhouette a character appeared as an epic soundtrack began to play, displaying the game menu on the side.

"So this is who you'll be playing! An adventurer who was sent to another world!"

"That's a bit on the nose don't you think?" Chuckled Anne.

Marcy shrugged, smiling, "Maybe, but its still pretty awesome! Trust me, you guys are gonna love this," beamed the girl as she showed Sasha how to start up a new game and she began to play, her girls watching and commenting every now and then about the storyline, and the strange similarities it held with their own adventures in Amphibia.

It was around midnight when Mr.Waybrught arrived home. Placing his keys on the kitchen counter, he stretched his back and yawned into the back of his hand. He was exhausted and wanted nothing more then to crawl into bed. Loosening his tie, he walked into the living room, surprised to see a fort built in the middle of the livingroom with a soft light coming through the cracks as well as a slow melody. Curious, he went to investigate.

Lifiting the blanket that acted as a door, he smiled at the sight before him. Sasha was passed out, a hand held console in hand that played a song, the screen flashing 'continue?' in bright colors. On either side of the girl, was Marcy and Anne, both of them sound asleep as they cuddled into Sasha.

The man couldn't be more grateful to them if he tried. He was glad, happy that his daughter had found such amazing people that only brought out the best in his daughter. Huffing a laugh, he flipped the makeshift door back down and retreated to his room.
