Summary
Kat had always seen Swann differently than Nora and Autumn had.
Swann was used to hiding behind her camera, seeing only through the lenses, preferring to be invisible behind it. It was like her defense mechanism, built into her DNA to be on the sidelines and never in focus. Like a turtle in its shell or a hedgehog curling into itself.
But Kat saw straight through her. She hadn’t even known her for the whole summer and yet it felt as if she tore down her protective walls, exposing her to Kat’s knowing gaze. It should terrify Swann, really. Except it didn’t.
It was oddly comforting and nice, Kat saw Swann and Swann saw Kat. They were weirdos on the same wavelength, outsiders that found home in each other.

Swann will do anything to keep her first love alive and she plans to do exactly that.
