'He is a comrade not a little brother.' Reyna reminded herself, but. . .over these past couple of days they have bonded, all three of them in fact.
Coach Hedge has told them everything about his wife and his past years leading kids to camp Half-Blood. Reyna has told them some things about New Rome, though not that much but it is a start. Nico has said a few things, what the underworld looks like, and he had talked about Mrs. O'Leary (Reyna can understand having mythical like dogs and so badly wants to meet her).
The thing that sticks out the most to Reyna is that he mentioned he had an older sister named Bianca. It was brief but it was stuck in Reyna’s mind.
Reyna looked over to where Nico and Coach Hedge were sleeping. She had first watch this time. Then she did something unexpected, even to herself.
She walked over to Nico and tucked her cloak around the sleeping boy. When she turned around to go back to watch she heard Nico murmur.
"Thanks Bianca." It seems after those words were spoken there was an understanding between them. Something only they understand and will never be spoken out loud.
And with that Reyna went back to watch, a faint smile on her face.
