Geomione HC

Summary:

A little George and Hermione fic post-war

Work Text:

Geomione HC 1

When the war was finally over and all the funerals were done, Hermione decided to take George with her to Australia to find her parents. She talked to the Weasley family and Harry behind her reasons. She explained to them that George needed to get away from the memories for a little bit and was hoping that his family would look after the shop for him. They agreed and Ron and Harry decided to help clean up the shop and start getting it ready for George when he got back. Ron and Hermione talked at the family meeting minus George. They agreed that they should remain friends and their kiss was just from the emotions of the war taking over. They hugged each other before Hermione went to Diagon Alley to look for George at his apartment.

Hermione had to convince George to come with her to Australia and take a break from England for a month. She was able to talk to Kingsley about getting out of the country quietly. He was able to set up a portkey to land in Sydney’s Ministry of Magic. She had asked for help finding her parents from their Reversal Squad. She explained what she did and why she did it. They decided that she shouldn’t be charged for doing it for the safety of her loved ones.

George was amazed at how laid back the Aussies were compared to their country’s leaders. He was relieved that he didn’t have to go back and get Harry to rescue her. He just shook his head and was slightly surprised at the story she told them. They decided to set themselves up at a local hotel with some luxury and George used his business card and told Hermione that he would say that it was for research. She gave him a big hug in thanks. The next day the Aussie Ministry was able to locate her parents in Newcastle, which was about an hour ride up the coast. They had set up a dental practice there for the locals. Hermione was thrilled that they found them so quickly.

George and Hermione decided to go the next morning. They got on the road and get there early. Hermione noticed that their house is a lot similar to the one she grew up in. George’s eyes bugged out at the house. “Damn girl. I didn’t know that you had some money.” George said while whistling at the size of the estate.

Hermione laughed at George’s remark and said, “It isn’t my fault that none of you came to my place before the war. I am glad that I brought you instead of Ron though. He would have gotten jealous that the site of this place. I can’t help it if my parents did well as dentists.” George nodded in agreement to her comments about Ron. Hermione started to sweat a bit and kept drying her hands on her jeans.

George grabbed her hand and gave it a squeeze of support. She looked up at him and smiled. “It will be alright, Hermione. Just go and reunite with your family.” George said with a smile on his face.

Hermione took a deep breath, walked to the door, and knocked on it. It took a couple of minutes for her mother to open the door. “Hello, Can I help you with something?” Mrs. Wendell asked Hermione.

Hermione nodded her head and said, “I have something important to tell you and your husband. Is he home?” The other woman nodded her head and stepped back to let her in. Hermione softly yelled out, “Mr. Wendell? Can you come here please?” While the two ladies waited for him to come into the room, Hermione slowly slid her wand out to put them to sleep to reverse the spell on them. “Stupefy” She cast it onto her mother and gently laid her on the couch. After she was done, her father walked in and ran to his wife to find out what was wrong with her. He stopped at the sight of Hermione’s wand, and she quickly said, “Stupefy” and caught him before he hit the coffee table. She dragged him to his armchair so she could release the spell.

She went to the door and called George into the house for some moral support. He came running and gave her a big WeasWeasley-style. They walked into the living room to work on releasing the memory charm that she placed on them. She told George what he would need to say to release her father’s charm. He looked a little nervous. She gave him a smile of encouragement. “1-2-3” They cast the spell perfectly and waited for her parents to wake up.

Mrs. Granger woke up first and slowly sat up on the couch. She looked around the slightly unfamiliar place until her eyes spotted Hermione. “Hermione!” she screamed. She sprang off the couch and gave her daughter a big hug. She then heard her husband’s moan of waking up. “Look dear, Hermione is home!”

Mr. Granger’s head snapped up at his wife’s words and his face slowly grew happier at the sight of Hermione in her mother’s arms. He got up out of the chair and gave Hermione a big hug. “You, my dear, have a lot to explain but first you need to tell us who this young man is.” Mr. Granger grumbled in a deep voice.

“Mom and Dad, this is George Weasley, one of Ron’s brothers. He was one of the twins that I used to tell you about with their pranks.” Hermione explained. George looked surprised that she even talked about them. His face sank at her words when it hit him what she said. George started to cry, which startled her parents. Hermione walked over to him and comforted him and murmured into his ear. “Let it out, George. I know that you are going to miss Fred a lot. I know that I will. I know that it didn’t seem like that when I was younger, but I did think your stuff was brilliant. I have a surprise for you back home. I have Harry and Ron cleaning up your business and they are going to get it ready for you to open when we get back. I know that is what Fred would want you to do. I will help you whenever I can, and I know that the boys and your family will too. We love you, Forge.” Her parents were shocked to hear that Fred was gone but smiled at her words of encouragement and steadfast belief in him and his work. They were happy to see that they had raised a fine daughter.

When George stopped crying, Hermione released him. He pulled away from her and had a surprised look on his face at her words. “Really, Hermione?” George asked her. “You know that you don’t have to do that for me. I thought that I annoyed you like crazy.”

Hermione laughed and hugged him again. She softly replied, “No, you daft boy. I love you, George. I think I always have. It took Fred’s death to open my eyes. I want to help you every step of the way to get this business back up and running. You worry about the products and advertisement, and I will worry about the financial aspect.”

George looked flabbergasted at her words. When he finally snapped out of it, he scooped her up and gave her a big kiss on the lips. “I love you, too, Hermione. I fell for you during the fourth year because I was happy that someone stuck by Harry during that god-awful tournament. Fred and I thought that you two would get together during that year.” He laughed at the surprised look on Hermione’s face as he continued his train of thought, “I am glad that it didn’t happen that way. We wouldn’t be here now if that was the case.” Hermione nodded.

Her parents cleared their throats which made them jump. The parents snickered at their reaction, and they received one of Hermione’s glares. Her mom gestured for all of them to sit down so they could talk. “Shall we?” Hermione’s mom asked. The young couple took the sofa, and her parents took the couch. They spent the rest of the morning talking about what happened in the past year.
