A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away….
Star
Wars
MIRACULOUS SQUADRON
Since the destruction of the Death Star, many new groups of rebels have joined the fight for freedom.
One such group is the Miraculous Squadron from the planet of Paris in the outer rim, led by the heroic Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste.
They are aided by creatures of the force known as Kwamis, who can bestow non-force users with the strength, speed and endurance of a Jedi.
But they have many enemies who would use these beings' power for themselves, from ally turned tractor Chloé Bourgeois, Imperial spy Lila Rossi and Adrien’s own father, Grand Moff Agreste.
The Squadron has infiltrated Paris's most notable space station, the Eiffel Tower, to retrieve vital cargo….
The tower-like station floated above the planet of Paris. The four Star Destroyers parked around it like prison guards.
The red and black ship known as the Miraculous Ladybug was currently dodging their turbo lasers, flown by the best pilot on the team.
“The Imps almost got us that time, monkey brain!” Alix barked at her co-pilot.
“I’m not the one who flew too close to their sensors!” Kim shot back.
“Enough, you two!” Xuppu shouted from his spot beside Fluff, “What matters is giving the others more time to complete the mission.”
They fell silent. The Kwami was right; they had a job to do.
Marinette looked out at the promenade, stormtroopers watching everyone.
Once, this station had been a peaceful trading post. But the Empire changed all that, and not for the better.
“Everything will be okay, Marinette,” Tikki reassured her from her bag.
“I know, but we have never done anything like this before.”
This was a far cry from sabotaging Imperial ships and rescuing prisoners on the way to detention centres.
“You can do this. Everyone is more than ready for this.”
Marinette smiled at the small being that had changed her life.
She and her friends had been fleeing from the capital after the Empire had taken over Paris when they stumbled into the destitute temple of the Order of the Miraculous and met its last surviving member, Master Wang Fu.
Like the Jedi, they had been targeted by the Empire and all but destroyed. Most of the Miraculous had been taken, but Master Fu had been able to save most of the Miraculous from the Mother Box, and on that day, he had finally found people worthy to wield them.
Well, most of them had been anyway…
Marinette shook away the memories and came back to the present.
“Is everyone in position?” She spoke into her communicator.
“Everyone in the band is ready,” Luka told her.
He, his sister, Rose and Ivan were undercover as a band, which Rose had named Kitty Section, to act as lookouts in the hope that they would be overlooked. So far, it seems to be working.
“We're just waiting for the signal,” Mylène told Marinette.
“We’re ready, too,” Alya said.
“As are we,” Adrien confirmed.
“The shuttle is secure,” Sabrina finished.
“All right,” Marinette said, “Let's begin.”
Zoé traded a look with Mylène. With their skills in acting, they were the best choice for the distraction.
“How dare you!” She shouted at Mylène, “Do you know who I am?!”
“I don’t know, maybe the biggest spoiled brat in the galaxy!” She shouted back.
Everyone in the room was focused on them, including the guards for the door to the station's restricted section, allowing Adrien and Kagami to quickly and silently take them down and slip in.
“You are clear for this corridor,” Adrien heard through the communicator.
“Okay, thanks, Alya,” she had tapped into the security feed with Nino standing guard for her.
He spotted a propaganda poster with his father's face on it, Kagami noticed.
“You are not your father just as I’m not my mother,” she told him.
Since Tomoe Tsurugi was a firm supporter of the Empire, she was one of the few who understood this particular pain. The only other person on the team who did was Zoé. In fact, she had it worse since Audrey and Gabriel manipulated Chloé into joining their side.
Adrien sighed. First, his father became his enemy. Then, his oldest friend betrayed him and the rest of the team. He bet that Luke Skywalker and Han Solo didn’t have to worry about that sort of thing.
“We’re here,” Kagami said on the team’s private channel.
According to their information, this was where the target was located.
Plagg, Longg, do you sense anything?” Adrien asked their Kwamis.
“Yes, kid, this is definitely the right place,” Plagg said, and Longg nodded in agreement.
“Okay then, let's get through the door.”
He stepped forward and fired his blaster at the locks.
They spotted the small box containing what they were after immediately. Adrien picked it up.
“This is too easy,” Kagami said.
“Yes,” he agreed.
As if to confirm their suspicions, a ray shield chose that moment to trap them and a hologram of the last person he wanted to see appeared.
“Hello, son.”
“It’s a trap!” Alya shouted over the Channel.
Zoé and Mylène found themselves surrounded by Stormtroopers led by a familiar figure.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t my dear sister.”
“Chloé!”
“Still fighting for a lost cause, I see.”
“It’s called loyalty, something you wouldn't know anything about!”
“I am loyal! Loyal to our mother and the Empire.”
“Oh Chloé, still that little girl desperate for the love of a woman not capable of it.”
“Shut up! Take them to the detention centre!” She ordered the stormtroopers.
Before they could do so, the members of Kitty Section fired their blasters at them, taking out half of them and forcing the others to take cover.
Mylène fired at the remaining stormtroopers to give them an opening.
“You won’t get away!” Chloé swung at her with a vibroblade, but Zoé blocked it with her own.
Max covered his eyes as sparks leapt from the console.
“Are you okay, Max?” MA4-K05, more commonly known as Markov, asked his creator.
“I’m fine. How is the deflector shield doing?”
“Steady for now, but it can’t hold out indefinitely.”
He heard Alix and Kim bantering in the cockpit and Nathaniel and Marc firing at the TIE fighters swarming around them. They were running out of time.
Marinette ran with the crowd. She hadn't been spotted. Yet.
She pushed past a Rodian man and caught sight of the fight, but before she could do anything, a blaster was pressed against her head.
“Hello, Marinette.”
“Lila!” she spat out.
“If it weren't for you, I would have infiltrated your little ship and handed you all over to the Grand Moff.”
Marinette snorted, “Me? You’re the one who tried to take credit for rescuing an ambassador that I saved. You might have succeeded if you didn’t brag so much.”
Lila growled in annoyance, and that's when Marinette struck.
While the Miraculous couldn't allow her to do the things a Jedi could, it could channel the force through her body, making her faster and stronger than she should be.
Lila’s blaster was knocked out of her hand, and Marinette punched her in the stomach, giving Marinette the chance to get away.
“You have no right to call me that,” Adrien told Gabriel.
“I gave you life and raised you after your mother died!”
“No, you didn’t! You hardly saw me. Nathalie raised me more than you did, and where is she now?”
Gabriel didn’t answer.
“Oh yes, she finally had enough of you and left.”
“How do you know that?”
“We have our sources.”
“Well, no matter, soon you will be home, and this childish rebellion of yours will be over.”
“Childish rebellion? Is that what you think this is? That we’re just acting out against our rich parents?”
“That is not it at all,” Kagami told the Grand Moff, “We joined the Rebellion because the Empire is corrupt and cruel and unstable.”
“Unstable!” The Empire is in control of the galaxy despite the loss of the Death Star!”
“Barely,” She countered, “The republic lasted for centuries while the Empire has only existed for a few decades, and already it is struggling. More and more people fight against the Empire every day, and the Empire responds with more brutality, which just makes more people fight back, and if it keeps it up, there won’t be anyone left to rule over.”
“The Imperial Military is full of backstabbing, in-fighting and bribery,” Adrien continued, “Not to mention the imbalance in economics and industrial structure. It’s a miracle it hasn't collapsed already.”
“We can argue about ideology and economics when you come home,” Gabriel told them.
Adrien heard footsteps coming and smiled, “Oh, we’re not going with you anywhere.”
Alya and Nino ran into the room and shot at the ceiling where the ray shield was coming from, and brought it down.
“You haven’t escaped yet!” The enraged Grand Moff shouted after them as they ran out of the room.
Chloé was lasting longer than she should have without a Miraculous. The Grand Moff must be using the Butterfly to give her the strength needed to fight her.
Chloé swung her blade again.
Zoé dodged to the left, “Do you seriously think that Audrey loves you? Just because you’re fighting for the Empire now changes nothing.”
“You're wrong! She loves me! She has to!”
Zoé blocked her next slash and headbutted her, knocking her down.
Zoé put her blade to Chloé’s throat, “Go ahead,” She told her.
Zoé sighed, “No, despite everything, you’re still my sister.”
“Why bother? You are completely outnumbered, and nothing is getting rid of them.”
An idea came to Zoé, and she grinned, “Is that so? Hey Alix!” she called loudly, “You mind clearing the crowd?”
The Stormtroopers froze.
“Kubdel is here?!”
“We need to get out of here!”
“Retreat!”
“No, you idiots! She's not here! Come back!” Chloé shouted.
“Everyone to the shuttle! We've got what we came for!” Marinette’s voice rang out.
Zoé gave one last look to Chloé, who did nothing to stop them before running to join her team.
Marinette did a head count. Everyone was here, and their shuttle, the Chat Noir, was in sight.
Sabrina was in the pilot's seat when they got on board.
“Not so fast!”
Marinette turned around to see Lila aiming a rocket launcher at the shuttle.
“I would prefer to take you alive, but I can make do with your deaths, your choice.”
“My father won’t be happy if you kill me,” Adrien told her.
“I don’t answer to him, and if he tries to punish me, my superiors will push back.”
Marinette thought rapidly. She couldn't see a way out this time.
But the Kwamis had them covered. While Lila was focused on them, Tikki and Plagg had phased under the floor and come out behind her and sabotaged the rocket launcher.
When it started making funny sounds, Lila yelped and dropped it, which caused it to go off and destroy the Grand Moff’s personal shuttle.
“Go now!” Marinette ordered.
Sabrina didn’t need telling twice. She started up the engines as the Kwamis returned.
Lila screamed in rage and fired futilely at the shuttle as it left the station.
When the shuttle docked with the ship, Alix sent the ship to hyperspace.
“So that went well,” She said when everyone had gathered.
“We barely got everyone out alive,” Max said.
“Exactly, everything went well,” Alix replied.
“I am getting Imperial chatter,” Markov told everyone, “And for some reason, there is panic about Alix being aboard the station.”
“I can explain that,” Zoé said and looked at Alix awkwardly, “I kind of used your name to scare off some stormtroopers.”
Alix shook her head, “Honestly, just because one time Kim accidentally mixed up a Thermal detonator with one of my paint bombs, suddenly every Imperial runs at the sound of my name… It’s awesome!”
“Ahem,” Marinette interrupted, “Perhaps we can have a look at our cargo?”
Adrien got out the small box and opened it. There was a flash of light, and a Kwami appeared.
“What? Where am I?”
“Liiri!” The other Kwamis crowded around their old friend.
“We are the last disciples of the order of the Miraculous. You're safe now,” Marinette told the eagle-like Kwami.
As she explained to Liiri how the Empire had recently found his Miraculous and had been planning to have one of their agents use him against the galaxy he was supposed to protect. The members of Miraculous Squadron knew that they had scored a victory today, but they would need many more if they were to free the galaxy.
