‘I must find Fred. I have something important to tell him. Where is he?’ Luna thought frantically while there was a lull in the battle. ‘I wonder if I will find him in the Great Hall where everyone else seems to be going.’ Luna started walking towards the Great Hall with a slight limp because she tripped over some rubble on the seventh floor. She wandered into the Great Hall and found it subdued, which was scaring her. ‘I must find him and tell him!’
She spotted the Weasleys all huddled around a body but couldn’t see who it was. Luna started walking towards them. As she got there, George raised his head and saw her. He tried to intercept her, but he was too late. All the Weasley looked around when they heard a gasp and a soft “NO!” George went to her to give her a hug of comfort because he knew what she was to Fred. They were just talking about the two of them before they started fighting in the battle.
“Let go of me, George. I want Fred! I need to tell him that I love him. Please, George.” Luna cried softly in his good ear. George nodded his head and slowly took her hand and led her to Fred. The family moved out of the way, but they were puzzled at what they were doing. Luna softly grabbed Fred’s cold hand and said, “I love you; Frederick Weasley, and I would have been honored to be your loving wife.”
George wrapped an arm around her shoulders to give her comfort and softly said in her ear, “Fred told me, right before the battle, that he was hoping to build a great life with you because he loved you so much, Luna!”
Luna’s wet blue eye looked at George and gave him a slight smile. “Thanks, George.”
