After nearly two decades of being L, Near's safety is finally compromised by a vengeful group he was targeting. Bound, beaten, tortured, gutted. Near is taken as a prize for the gang. Near now has to wait out this terrible miserable lonely recovery with only one lowly grunt as his nurse.
The appearance of his nurse alarms him, though, as his handsomely familiar face is an indication that Nears safety and anonymity has long since been compromised.
And now, his hardened heart is compromised, too.
