Valentine’s Day: The Accomplishment

Summary:

Sasuke loves Naruto and tries to win his affection on Valentine’s Day, not knowing Naruto already likes him back but just won’t admit it. Sasuke tries everything to make Naruto like him back, will Sasuke’s plans prevail?

Notes:

AU: This story takes place when Madara creates the Infinite Tsukuyomi and in which Naruto and Sasuke are that version of themselves in that world (if that makes sense) and in which Sasuke is that weird romantic version of himself (I watered it down a bit towards the end a lot) but Naruto has the same personality he did before but the only difference is that he secretly loves Sasuke (if that's even a difference 💀).

Work Text:

Naruto, stood, stunned in his tracks. He was on his way back home but had stopped when Sasuke pulled out another rose from literally thin air, again (because this happened on the daily) and held it out to him with a smirk on his face.

"Here~ this is for you my little kitten~," Sasuke said in a silky smooth voice to Naruto.

Naruto blushed, looking away slightly because what he wanted to do was accept the flower, kiss Sasuke on the cheek, and tell him how much he- but instead he did the opposite.

"Ew Sasuke, stop being like that, I've told you how many times? I don't like you." Naruto crossed his arms and sneered.

Sasuke frowned and the rose in his hand wilted, he threw it to the side and brushed his hands together as if nothing happened like it was no big deal that Naruto didn't accept his flower; then he put his hands on his hips.

"No worries, I will make you like me. Tomorrow is Valentine's Day, after all, maybe the day of love will spark something in you."

"I doubt that Teme!" Naruto said indefinitely.

"I still don't understand how you- or anyone couldn't want this beauty," Sasuke said putting his hovering hands on either side of his face like he was showing it off.

Naruto rolled his eyes and walked around Sasuke continuing.

"I have some planning to do, yes yes I do~" Sasuke stopped in front of Naruto, again and grabbed his hand, and kissed the back of it. "Until tomorrow my kitten~," he said before running off to do who knows what.

Naruto of course blushed again, even harder this time, and rubbed the back of his hand off on his jacket, a few seconds later regretting it.

Naruto didn't know why he couldn't tell Sasuke his true feelings for him, maybe it was because Sasuke was a complete fool and didn't want any other people's bad opinions about the two of them- no that was stupid. Naruto wouldn't care what people would say (that was debatable though). Maybe he was just scared to be in a relationship. He didn't know but maybe just maybe tomorrow he would finally accept Sasuke...

Tomorrow came.

The first thing Naruto noticed- well smelled when he woke up was freshly made eggs and...ramen? Mmm ramen, it smelt like heaven. He had no earthly idea why his mom was making him ramen for breakfast? She never did that unless it was his birthday. His mom must have whipped it up special for him this morning since it was Valentine's Day. It was the only logical thing in Naruto's mind.

He walked down the stairs and into the kitchen where he stopped frozen by the sight in front of him. Sasuke was making him breakfast.

Sasuke, his partner from team 7, the guy that liked him, was making him eggs and ramen in his own house. Naruto had so many questions, especially about why was he here and how did he get in? He had no key to the house (for obvious reasons), surely he didn't just break in, or did he?

"Oh there you are my sleeping kitten~ I made you your favorite~" Sasuke had noticed Naruto standing there in the doorway, jaw opened in shock.

"Uh what- how did you- where is my mom? Why are you in the kitchen- No why are you in my house? Um..." Naruto stared at Sasuke who was in a pink apron with a red and white heart on it, holding a bright red colored spatula.

"Silly kitty~ I told you I was going to spend this day trying to make you like me, so I thought I would start with making breakfast, yum!" Sasuke giggled then turned back around and continued to make the food.

Naruto raised an eyebrow and was still standing staring at the back of Sasuke's head.

Sasuke turned around again and motioned Naruto to sit down with the spatula. "Well sit down, the food is almost ready."

Naruto, still not wrapping his brain around what was happening, sat down at the table which was laden with rose petals of mixed colors of yellow, red, white, and pink. There was a centerpiece at the table which was a glass heart on a cute stand. The whole thing was charmingly laid out.

"Sasuke?" Naruto had woken from his trance of not knowing what the hell was going on, and he was now fully aware of what he needed to ask Sasuke.

"Yes?"

"Where is my mom?"

"Oh, well she went out, I think to see the Hokage, your dad. She told me I could do this by the way. You know you're mom is one scary woman- I'm saying that in the nicest way possible of course, she wouldn't just let me be in here without her permission." Sasuke laughed awkwardly then gulped.

"Oh, ok then," Naruto said and shifted in his seat.

A few moments later Sasuke placed the bowl of ramen in front of him and put the eggs to the side which were on top of some really good-looking toast. But the ramen was what looked the best. It made Naruto's mouth water, and to make everything match the theme of love more was on top of the ramen. All the meat and toppings that were usually in the ramen Naruto eats were placed by Sasuke to form a heart shape. How utterly adorable, Naruto thought to himself.

"Thanks, Sasuke, but this is still not gonna make me like y-"

"Hush and take a bite before you say anything else~" Sasuke shoved chopsticks into Naruto's hand.

Naruto sighed and took a bite of the ramen.

Holy shit.

That was probably one of the best things Naruto was ever gonna taste in his life, he hated to say it but it was almost better than Ichiraku Ramen, but how? He didn't even know Sasuke could even cook in the first place.

"Sasuke- how is this so good?"

"Oh, you really think so? I'm so happy, I spent forever on the perfect recipe!"

"Wow, all I have to say is wow," Naruto said taking another bite of the heavenly ramen.

"So will you go out with me?" Sasuke said with a sneaky smile, while he pulled out a chair so he could also sit and eat the plate of eggs he had cooked for himself.

Naruto had stopped eating and pulled his lips into a straight line. We all know Naruto wanted to say yes, but the way his body reacted was not the way his heart told him to react.

"Sasuke...no, I-"

"Not to worry! I still have a lot... a lot more planned for the day! Just you wait by the end of it, I bet I'll have you convinced that I'm the perfect guy that you need."

That was an odd way to put it Naruto thought and no there was nothing Sasuke could do to make Naruto admit that he liked him. Nothing. At. All. Oh, but how he was wrong.

"As I said before: I doubt that Sasuke. I'm sorry but it's just not going to happen. Thank you for the food though, it is spectacular."

Sasuke looked forlorn, he sat there hunched in his seat looking at his shoes. "You're welcome and I really hope I can change your mind," Sasuke said looking up at Naruto then began to eat his eggs.

Naruto felt a wave of sadness then but ignored it and continued to finish his breakfast, he eat the eggs on toast last which were also phenomenal.

Sasuke picked up the empty plates and washed all the dishes then said:

"I have to prepare for the next thing, so will you wait here? Someone will come and get you soon, I promise my kitten~"

"Ok, fine, I'll wait," Naruto said folding his arms and looking up at Sasuke who was standing by his side now.

Sasuke smiled wide and then nodded before dashing out the door.

Naruto wondered what Sasuke had planned for the rest of the day, he was just trying to win him over. It was working even though he already liked Sasuke. But what was working was Naruto's confidence to tell Sasuke that he likes him. Maybe seeing and knowing all the things Sasuke was doing helped him realize something. But he still was scared.

About 15 minutes later there was a knock at the door and Naruto went to open it.

It was Hinata.

"Sasuke told me to come to get you," she said kinda rudely with a sneer on her face.

"Oh um alright then."

"Yeeep," Hinata said picking at her nails with a long drawn-out voice.

Naruto continued to stand there, confused. Was he just supposed to follow Hinata to Sasuke's next desired place? She was just standing not moving.

Naruto raised an eyebrow, "sooo are we going?"

"Huh," she looked up, "oh yeah, whatever let's go."

She walked outside, Naruto following, Hinata led him to the outskirts of the woods. Naruto saw a path of roses leading into that very forest.

"He told me to tell you to take this..um- trail, yeah," she scoffed, "ok byee" she then left Naruto with a sarcastic wave of her hand.

"She's so weird.." Naruto mumbled to himself and started to walk down the rose-petaled path, which would lead him to Sasuke and who knows what.

Coming to the end of the path was an encircling of the trees, flowers of all kinds littered the land beautifully. The sun had hit just right into the secret spot, it almost looked untouched with the grass being as green as it was.

Naruto took in a breath as he did a once over of it again, it was truly stunning, how did Sasuke even find this place?

"You finally made it~"

Naruto turned around at the sound of Sasuke's voice, once again he was holding out a flower to Naruto, it was a rich-colored daisy.

"Oh Sasuke-"

"What? Do you not like it? I know you didn't like the other flower, I guess I still haven't gotten the right one yet...oh well," Sasuke sighed and looked off to the side looking woeful. He then took the daisy and threw it behind his shoulder.

Naruto's eyes widened, "WHAT, NO DON'T-" Naruto lurched forward, did a quick dive around Sasuke, and caught the lonely flower that was about to touch the earth.

Sasuke wiped around staring at him in complete disbelief.

"You..wanted it?" He asked quietly with a perplexed face.

The blonde was kneeling on the ground the plant now delicately laid among the palms of his hands. "Uh yeah, it's really pretty, and well it's my favorite type of flower."

"Oh, I'm so sorry Naruto! I didn't know... never mind now, I will have to make it up to you!" Sasuke announced, helping Naruto to his feet.

They stood facing each other, Sasuke's head gently looking down at the flower in his crush's hands.

"May I," Sasuke motioned towards the flower.

"You're not going to through it again are you?" The whiskered boy pulled away the flower quickly.

The raven smirked, "no no nothing like that, I'll be gentle, I swear."

Naruto looked apprehensive at first but he put the flower into Sasuke's hand.

"Thank you."

He twirled the flower between his fingers admiring it before he placed it behind Naruto's right ear.

"Pretty~"

Naruto blushed and looked down at the ground. He regained his poise and looked up at Sasuke. "All right, why did you bring me here?" The blonde's heart was racing, did he seriously just let Sasuke do that?! He was mortified, but it was also just one of the sweetest things Sasuke had done, and for that Naruto had found himself giving in just a little more.

"I mean aren't you just gorgeous- oops I mean isn't this place gorgeous?"

Naruto blushed even harder this time, shifting on his
feet, his hands rubbing together nervously.

"Um yeah, it is, how'd you find it?"

Just change the topic!

"Hmm I don't know I was here and there and then I stumbled across this enchanting place," he smirked tilting his head, studying the timid boy in front of him.

"Oh that's cool," Naruto didn't know what to say or do but luckily he got Sasuke to change the topic.

"Here, follow me~" Sasuke reached a hand out to Naruto.

He looked apprehensive at first but gave in and grabbed the raven's awfully soft hand.

Sasuke led them more into the abyss of flowers and grabbed Naruto's other hand.

"What are you doing?" Naruto questioned quickly.

"Nothing, in particular, ~" Sasuke then smirked and started to spin him and Naruto in a circular motion and Naruto couldn't do anything but comply.

"Sasuke noooaahhhhhhh!"

Sasuke laughed throwing his head up into the air. Naruto looked at him, he was the gorgeous one, he was the one who was pretty, and he so desperately needed- wanted to kiss his rose-colored lips.

They soon lost control and tumbled over falling into the sweet-smelling flowers and the lush overgrown grass.

"Hehe, that was fun!" Sasuke grinned widely still holding on to Naruto's hand.

"Yeah... yeah, I guess it was."

"We should make flower crowns!" Sasuke shot straight up when he said that.

"Yeah no, I think the spinning was enough," Naruto said sternly.

"Oh come on! It will be so much fun kitten~"

"Oh my gosh," Naruto pinched the bridge of his nose, he sat up, "alright fine," Naruto gave him a sideways look not looking all too pleased, even though his brain said otherwise.

Sasuke just beamed letting go of Naruto's hand and started to pick some flowers. His cheerfulness was so addicting to Naruto though and he loved that amusing mirthfulness smile on Sasuke. It was a while later of Naruto laying down in the field letting the sun melt into his skin that Sasuke had finished the brightly colored flower crown and placed it on Naruto's head.

"See, now you look like a prince, my kitten~"

"I would appreciate it if you would stop calling me that," Naruto glared at him.

"Never."

Sasuke stood up. "It seems like it's about to be lunchtime, come with me."

Naruto didn't say anything he just got up and followed Sasuke, they walked in peaceful silence, the birds sang, and the trees waved in the breeze. Naruto wanted to hold Sasuke's hand again, of course, he didn't dare do that, not yet at least.

***

They arrived at Ichiraku Ramen, Naruto was already drooling.

"ICHIRAKU RAMEN!" Naruto shouted running into the old familiar place he loved so much. Sasuke followed close behind, pulling the curtains back to enter, he watched as Naruto was already ordering his food, he was so cute, Sasuke thought. He sat down next to the blonde and ordered too.

"Oh man ramen twice today, this has got to be one of the best days ev- uh I mean yeah today's great." Naruto corrected himself looking at Sasuke out of the corner of his eye, Sasuke only smirked.

"Oh let's see, I still have what? About half a day left to get you to like me." He rested his chin on his hands, facing Naruto.

"Yeah right, I already told you that-"

"Shh," Sasuke put a finger to Naruto's lips shushing him, "food's here."

***

"I'm so full, ugh," Naruto complained, rubbing his belly.

"You did have 4 bowls, but I do like my men with big appetites~"

"Ew, that's weird." Naruto grimaced at him.

"What can I say, I like to cook."

"Your bother also likes to cook doesn't he not?"

"He does," Sasuke grinned.

They walked around town for some time, enjoying talking to people along the way, Sasuke had bought Naruto a heart-shaped box of chocolates and a giant plushy green frog. Naruto had to hide behind it so Sasuke wouldn't know he was red as a tomato.

Naruto had gotten used to this by now and he was saying fewer things about how he didn't care, he was being more open to Sasuke now, and talked to him as if they were just some old friends (which they were). Sasuke listened to Naruto talk, just loving the sound of his voice, the stories that he had to tell, and memories of the past from when Sasuke and he were young. It brought Sasuke back to those times, reminiscing the moments when he had fallen in love with his friend over and over again.

Sasuke may seem to just be a major simp for Naruto (which he is) and just date him and what not because he's pretty but in actuality, he cared so deeply for Naruto it hurt, and just to have the privilege to call him his own would just be the most wonderful thing in the world to Sasuke.

"We're off to next!" Naruto asked excitedly, he was honestly having so much at this point, he didn't care about considering keeping his secret safe anymore...I guess Sasuke was right, he did make me fall for him by telling him how I actually feel. But I won't tell him now, I wanna finish the day off first and see what else Sasuke has planned, Naruto thought to himself.

"Well it is getting dark outside...here I'll tell you this, if you don't mind why don't you go back home and wait about an hour there, maybe put on some nice clothes, then meet me up at Hokage mountain."

"Oh ok, I'll see you then Sasuke!" Naruto went off on his way home.

Sasuke still stood there, he had the suspicion already that Naruto had already liked him, but the percentage was low, or maybe not. I'm just overthinking things now, you can just tell him tonight how you really truly feel about him, how you care for him so much.

***

When Naruto arrived home and got up to his bedroom he placed all the gifts he got from Sasuke and put them on his desk and he put the frog plushy on his bed. That's when he noticed a white suit was laid out on his bed. Was this what Sasuke meant by wearing something nice?

"It's pretty fancy," Naruto said aloud.

Naruto had about 45 minutes left, he decided to go take a quick shower and fix his hair since he was rolling in the grass earlier. He combed out his hair after his refreshing shower, then he put on the suit and looked at himself in the mirror. Goddamn did that make him look handsome or what?! Naruto complimented himself for looking this good. So this was the outfit he was going to confess to Sasuke in, very bold but suitable.

He had ten minutes now so he started to walk towards their meeting place. He was nervous, to say the least.

The feelings of today that now bubbled up inside him were continuously consuming his every action currently, Naruto swung his arms like a little kid who just received the best gift in the world, smiling like an idiot high on the feeling of love and devotion.

Today was enough to make Naruto realize that hiding his feelings from Sasuke wasn't solving any problems or fixing them. Just because he was scared of himself and scared of what people might think if they started dating (yes, he had come to the conclusion and was truthful about his thoughts to himself that he was scared of what people might think), because in reality keeping all of this locked away for so long drained the whiskered boy more and more. Every waking moment was thoughts about him.

Oh

Him

He was there all along, secretly helping him, admiring him, caring not only for Naruto but his parents as well and the blonde's friends. He devoted his entire well being making sure he was happy. And Naruto rejected all of it just because he was scared.

"I'll make things right."

Naruto arrived at the stairs leading up to the top where Sasuke was destined to be. The first thing he noticed was the daisies that lined the hard stone steps with soft flickering candles to light the way.

He... Naruto's eyes prickled.

Not even roses...the flower of love; but daisies because I said they were my favorite. Naruto gaped at the beautiful touch Sasuke did. It was one of the most romantic things he's ever yet done.

As the now teary-eyed boy followed the path that curved unevenly around the mountain he thought about how to approach Sasuke properly and what to say to him. Should he wait and let the 'date' go on and tell him at the end of the night or should he speak the truth sooner?
Or maybe he shouldn't say anything until after he kisses him- Naruto's face flushed at the thought and hurried along; the anticipation hovering over him.

***

Sasuke waited patiently for his one to appear at the steps. Normally when Sasuke put on all these silly things for Naruto he wasn't embarrassed or scared, but now the butterflies in his stomach were screaming loudly at him. He was sweating and his mind was aching with fear that today didn't work and that Naruto only took Sasuke's gifts into appreciation and not what he did for him and that he actually didn't start to like him or already like him like he originally thought-

No! Sasuke you can't think of the bad, I mean just remembered how happy he looked today, he was beaming with the light of the sun, you made him that happy, alright?! So it's okay, you still have a chance. GAH! Can my stomach stop? I'm gonna throw up.

Sasuke sat down in one of the chairs he had placed on the side of the table, where a delicious dinner was splayed out for the two teens.

He rested his head in his hands, completely overwhelmed by the many invading thoughts.

"I hope he'll be here s-" Sasuke whispered but then looked up for he heard Naruto coming up the last of the steps.

"Ah, you're here kitten!" He said happily starting to walk forward but then stopped in his tracks as he noticed Naruto was crying.

Oh no.

***

Naruto had started to cry more on his way up, he didn't want to, he really tried to stop but the tears said otherwise. When he made it up there he would just explain why he was crying and it would be fine so he wouldn't worry Sasuke.

But when he finally got to the top his breathing stopped. A table so flawless and chairs that looked so soft. A carpet underneath all of it. Candles were scattered everywhere of all sizes, and more and more daisies were laden about. The moon is shown above, glistening off the sparkling table, and how ever did it silhouette Sasuke's gorgeous face so meaningfully abstractly. He saw Sasuke get out of a chair and approach him but then stop.

And Naruto had the privilege to look at him in his silky smooth black suit, his hair seemed to be more luscious than usual and the rings on his fingers were brightened by the full moon. His eyes could tell a love story that one could never, and his lips were so cherry-colored like always.

Naruto loved this man so much that his heart felt like it was going to explode any second if he didn't say something right there and then.

"Naruto what's wrong? why are you crying-"

"I love you."

Naruto couldn't believe his own words.

Sasuke blinked, "what?"

"You heard me."

"N-no I don't think I did, I'm pretty sure I was dreaming-"

"Sasuke..."

"Seriously I think you said the food looks good- or the moon looks nice or something, I really don't think I heard you right-"

"I LOVE YOU, YOU IDIOT!"

Naruto screamed, squeezing his hands into fits, his eyes shut tight, he had put his whole heart into saying that, he was pretty sure that the whole of Konoha could hear him. He couldn't keep it in anymore, especially after seeing what all Sasuke had done for him and just how heavenly Sasuke looked in the moonlight. Just completely ravishing.

Silence, there was just silence for the longest time Naruto stood there not daring to open his eyes. Soft hands then held either side of his face, and his eyes fluttered open to meet magnificent night sky eyes that looked at him ever so gently.

"Can I kiss you?"

"Yes," he nodded his head, and instead of letting Sasuke kiss him, he lept into Sasuke's arms, Sasuke catching him. Naruto took no hesitation to smash his lips against Sasuke's. His head was in a blur and his heart was racing against Sasuke's.

Sasuke put him down his arms still around the crazy blonde boy, kissing him passionately.

"I'm sorry," Naruto said, he opened his eyes from the wild kiss they just shared, "I should have told you sooner...I was just..scared."

Sasuke smiled, "I had a feeling you already liked me."

"Really?"

"I mean, there were times when I saw you blush when I would try to do weird things, you know like give you flowers and open doors for you or-"

"Oh, I didn't realize it was that obvious."

"Heh, I'm just glad you finally did something about it, I've been waiting for this moment for so so so long, Naruto I have liked you for so long, and along the way, I fell in love with you, and I had to do something. So these past years trying to get with you and doing everything for you was never to get in your pants; I hope you know that because I was truly doing all of this because I longed for your kisses your touches your kind words, seeing you smile every day. Because I can't last without seeing your cute whiskered cheeks rise when you grin with pure joy. Seeing you...is something that I can't get from anyone else Naruto because you are special so so special and I hope you realized that by now. Holding your hand is a privilege, being near you is gracious, admiring your imperfections is a beautiful given, and letting you know all of this feels so righteous.. I'm sorry, I'm rambling now, but I just wanted to let you know that I've done everything so I could love you, in hope one day you could love me back.."

Sasuke was out of breath and he looked down at the ground his head resting on Naruto's chest his eyes watering.

"Sasuke...You're truly something too, aren't you?"

The raven looked up, "what?"

"You're so thoughtful, all these years of you chasing me..it was all because you have an exquisite heart, that I would love to call mine if you will let me?"

He looked at Naruto for some time tears making his vision blurry, he gripped Naruto's back to keep from breaking with the words he was hearing, and he waited so long for these words to reach his ears.

Sasuke just kissed him again with so much love attached to that one kiss so many words he couldn't express went into it, this day definitely went better than plan. And Naruto took that kiss as a yes, his worries and fears vanished as he kissed his boy, he felt free from it all, and he was actually happy, so blissfully content, he felt like he could accomplish anything. He hoped that he and Sasuke could accomplish more great things one day, together; the already one accomplishment was finally done.
