Work Text:
Eiden was walking around the manor with Aster. He was still getting used to the massive place. Honestly, he was impressed with the splendor and beauty Huey surrounded himself with. He can’t really complain, he was used to it as well. One of the perks of being the world’s fastest growing idol, he guesses. He can only hope that his team in the other world wasn’t tearing their hair out too much. True, he wasn't sure when or how he’d get back. But right now he had some time to relax from all that. Might as well take advantage of that fact. Eiden was looking in on a room, when he saw it.
It was a mic with a stand. The cord lead away to a strong looking device. Yet the thing that held Eiden’s attention wasn’t the device. It was the mic, the mic that was golden. With beautiful gems and intricate designs. The microphone could basically be for looks and less for functionality. However, Eiden had to ask. “Hey Aster, what's the deal with that?” He pointed to the mic when he had the vampire’s attention. Aster looks at the gold microphone for a moment before looking back at him. “Oh! That’s one of Master Huey’s inventions! I don’t know how it works, but the master found part of it at some market sale.”
“The rest of it he made by hand and with some help from magic!” Aster smiled with a far away look in his eyes. Eiden was impressed, for someone to make a workable microphone by themselves was a feat. Eiden was looking the box device over, trying to figure it out. He shook his head, he could figure it out later. He nodded to Aster to continue on with the tour. He’ll think on this later.

Eiden tossed in his bed as the night wore on. They had gotten back from Solaria late last night. Eiden felt like he had lost a major war. Dante had said that they didn’t need the Grand Sorcerer anymore. In a way he was right, but Eiden also felt like it was wrong too. He was scared, he guesses, because someone had meant for the attack to happen. He knows that he should just sleep and try to not let these thoughts haunt him. But he was just too.. Too wound up. He needed something to burn off the extra energy he had. Then a memory came to him, the microphone Huey made!
While he might not know how the box thingy works, it was better than not getting any sleep. He got out of bed, still in his nightgown that Aster had gotten him. While it was comfy and nice, he had to question how the vampire got it. Regardless, he quietly made his way to the room where he remembered the microphone being. He smiled at seeing the golden mic. While he had seen his share of bizarre microphones, this one won at being the most costly. Just from a glance, he could tell that the mic had cost alot to make. He smiled as a memory came to mind. He remembered this one mic that had been made to simulate a candy.
Eiden chuckled at that story. Lucky that hadn’t gone viral. He then looked at the strange box that the cord connected to. While he was familiar with soundboards and recording software, this was out of his league. He was just going to have to press buttons to figure it out. Sure this was a risk, but he wanted to see how it worked. After trial and error, he figured it out. Turns out the device was a recording and speaker duo. Eiden thought about what he could sing. He had some ideas, but wasn’t sure. He could try to work on other songs he was thinking on. He could also try and make new ones as well.
Eiden thought, then decided on just covering a song. He wasted no time in getting the device ready.

Dante had known that doing this was a bad idea. Leaving Solaria after the attack was dangerous, but he had a feeling that something was happening. While he and the current grand sorcerer hadn’t seen eye to eye. He will admit that the other had some points. But each can be easily changed with time. However, he was not here to discuss life choices. He was here to ask and see how great Eiden would be. So far, he was only seeing Huey here. There was nothing here that seemed to be Eiden's. It was almost like he didn’t want to add or change anything. Like he was expecting the old grand sorcerer to come back anytime now.
Dante chuckled at the thought, Eiden and his sentimental heart of course. He shook his head and entered the manor. The interior was the same grandeur as the front. But there was at least some evidence of being lived in by multiple people. As he was about to head to his room that had been set up. He heard a sound that made him stop. Singing, someone was singing a song. Dante had heard many singers in his life. Many had impressed, others were sublime. This one was… it was untouchable. He felt blessed just by hearing it. He had heard that one of the current grand sorcerer’s members was a priest.
He wondered if he was hearing his hymns. Dante followed the voice as it beckoned him to it closer. The red haired prince had always enjoyed a good song once in a while. This one was almost sad, while he could pick out a few words. The general feel of the song was felt in every word. There was a longing to them. As if the singer was in pain over what once was. And now lost and confused over what to do next. Dante knows that sorrow and grief are only temporary. But this singer was almost those two things embodied. It was so heartfelt that Dante was sure that no one in Klein or Solaria could match the feeling and energy of this voice.
So he followed it, hopeful to see the owner and beholder of the sad voice. It took awhile, but Dante eventually found the room the voice was coming from. He slowly opened the door, and was frozen by the sight that met his eyes. Eiden was in his sleep clothes as he swayed in place. He was singing, singing the song that had captured Dante’s heart. He looked pained, like the song was hurting him in a way. Like he was the one that had made the song. Had he? There was no other person Dante could think of that could have written such a song. He listened to it as he entered the room as quietly as possible.
From the look Eiden had on his face, Dante could tell he was focused on making the song as real as possible. Dante heard it, and deep down he wanted Eiden to know that. And wanted him to share it with others. As the song came to an end, he smiled ‘Will your talent at surprises never end Eiden?’

As Eiden finished the last line of the song, he felt so much better at having his head clear. He opened his eyes, not sure when he closed them. He stepped away from the mic to have a listen to it. When a chuckle came from the door. He turned around fast, only to be faced with the last person he wanted to hear him sing. Dante had a smirk that could rival Kuya’s. He clapped slow as he made his way over to Eiden. “Well, well, well… And here I thought I knew all the ways you could get my attention.” Eiden was pushed up against the wall “Look I never-” he tried to save this.
He really didn’t want the other clan members to hear his singing. But the arrogant prince shushed him with a finger to his lips. “If I had known that all you had to do was sing like a songbird. I would’ve listened to you closer, and sooner.” And as he whispered these words, the kiss they had sealed Eiden’s fate. ‘So much for keeping it quiet… I’ll get him back for this.’
