Chapter Text

Love For Family

Brian has the day of work off. Brain and his friend Roman had opened a garage in L.A after Miami. Brian was at the pier and was just walking along it when he heard yelling to run, so he started to run as well. After the water came over everything Brian got helped onto a firetruck, he was then introduced to Buck and Chris and started to help as well and also made sure Chris stayed with them up on the truck. But he didn't know that he had hurt his side. Buck was helping people when the water was coming back to them. Buck hurt his arm when a car door came past them and caught it. Brian pulled Buck back on the truck, Once the water was out of their way people started to get off of the firetruck. Buck asked Brian if he could carry Chris for him, Brian said "yeah I got him." Buck said "thank you." Brian said "you are welcome." They started to walk to the old VA hospital.

When they got there Eddie saw someone else carrying his son. Eddie ran up to them and asked "Buck why are you not carrying Chris?" Buck said "because I broke my arm." Eddie asked "how?" Buck told Eddie what happened. Eddie took Chris from Brain and said to him "thank you." Brian said "you are welcome." Eddie looked down at Brian's left side and said "how did that happen?" Brian looked down and said "I guess I got hurt in the water." Brian then collapsed to the floor Eddie got down and sat Chris down as well but turned him. Before putting pressure on Brian's side.Brian said to Eddie before he passed out. Brian said "my power of attorney is Dominic Toretto and my next of kin is Mia Toretto tell the hospital to not call them until 2 weeks if I don't wake up if they don't want to do it then call Roman Pearce and if he does not want to do it then have the hospital deal with me. Please tell Dom that I am sorry." Eddie said "will do." Just then Brian passed out.

It was 2 weeks when Dom's house phone went off. Dom got the phone. Eddie said "hi my name is Eddie Diaz." Dom asked "how did you get this number?" Eddie said "a person that helped my friend out by caring for my son for me on the day of the tsunami, asked me to tell the hospital to not call his power of attorney or his next of kin until after 2 weeks. He said if his power of attorney or next of kin or his friend of childhood does not want to look after him then the hospital can, his name is Brian O'Connor, and has you Dominic Toretto as his power of attorney and Mia Toretto as his next of kin. The childhood friend's name is Roman Pearce." Dom said "I don't know about my sister but I will be there, because I don't know this Roman Pearce and I don't trust the hospital to have Brian's best interests in their minds, I will be right here, do not have the hospital do nothing without my say if they do and it's not something I like they will have a lawsuit on them!"

Chapter 2

Dom said "goodbye." Eddie said "goodbye." They got off the phone. Dom sat down at the table and said "that was Eddie Diaz he said Brian O'Connor's power of attorney is me and next of kin is Mia." He then told everyone what Eddie had said and what was going on." Mia said "I don't want to go right now because I am kinda mad at him right now." Dom said, "that is fine with me, well I got to go." He got up and left to go to the hospital.

Eddie, Buck, and Chris were sitting in the room with Brian. Dom got into the room. Eddie said, "are you, Dominic?" Dom said, "yeah but I go by Dom," Eddie asked, "is Mia Toretto coming?" Dom said, "no she's kinda mad at him right now." Eddie said, "okay I will go get the doctor." Dom said, "Okay thank you." Eddie said, "you are welcome." Eddie left the room. Chris said, "I am glad that Brian was there for my Bucky and I." Dom asked "Bucky?" Buck said, "it's my nickname, my actual name is Evan (Buck) Buckley." Dom said "oh." Just then the doctor came in.

The doctor asked, "are you, Dominic?" Dom said, "yes but I go by Dom." The doctor said, "Okay, well he has got a cut on his side and we had to put him in a coma." Dom asked, "why?" The doctor said, "he would not let his side heal, we almost called you or Mia or Roman to get him to settle down if we couldn't." Dom asked, "when are you taking him out of the coma?" The doctor said "soon." Dom said, "Okay, next time he is in the hospital even if he asks you not to talk to or get a hold of me or Mia you do it." The doctor said, "Okay, why?" Dom said, "he will listen to me or Mia." The doctor said, "Okay, what about Roman Pearce?" Dom said, "I guess but I don't know him." The doctor said, "Okay, I will let you know what is going on." Dom said, "Okay thank you." The doctor said "goodbye." Everyone said "goodbye." The doctor then left the room.

Chapter 3

Dom said to Eddie "thank you for taking care of Brian and watching out for him." Eddie said "you are welcome." Eddie said "I am just glad that he took care of my son and my friend." Dom could see in Eddie's eyes that Buck is more than a friend. Dom asked "are you and Buck together because if you are I am fine with that." Eddie said "okay cool." Dom got a text from Letty. Letty and everyone wanted to know how Brian was. Dom got his phone out. Dom said "sorry I need to talk to my family."

Letty: "How is Brian?"
Dom: "He is in a coma right now."
Letty: "Why is he in a coma?"
Dom: "Because they need to get his side to heal and he was not listening."
Letty: "Why didn't they call until now?"
Dom: "Because they listen to what Brian wanted.'
Letty: "Oh"

Dom was about to say something when they heard a groan. Dom looked at Brian who was waking up. Brian asked "what happened?" Dom told him what happened. Brian asked "did they at least wait for two weeks?" Dom said "yeah, next time they are calling me or Mia no matter what." Brian asked "why?" Dom said "because you know that you would need to listen."

Chapter 4

Eddie said "if you still want to talk to us, here are our numbers." Dom said "okay thank you." Eddie said "you are welcome, we got to go." Dom said "okay bye." Eddie, Buck, and Chris said "bye." As they left. The nurse came in and said "you guys can leave tomorrow." Brian and Dom said "okay thank you." The nurse said "you are welcome."

The next day, Brian got changed into clothes. They then left the hospital and got into Dom's car. Dom asked "where is your place?" Brian said "you know where DT garage is?" Dom said "yes." Brian said "well my childhood friend and I brought that place and the store and the place next to that as well, that place is a garage as well, there is a room in the back that we are living in." Dom asked "how come you don't have a place to live?" Brian said "because we didn't have the money with us buying those three stores."

Brian said "because it was my idea to keep DT garage and store for you out of money I had. My friend thought it was a good idea to get the three shops in case you want the two shops back you had." Dom asked "why not wait to buy the other shop until you had money?" Brian said "I don't know." Dom said "okay."

Chapter 5

Dom asked “do you need to call or text your childhood friend to let him know that you can’t work for a while?” Brian didn’t answer him, because he didn’t tell Roman that he is not supposed to work. Dom got to DT garage, and Brian said “right over there.” Dom said “okay” before he stopped the car. Brian said “thank you.” Dom said “you are welcome.” Brian got out, and went into the shop he shared with Roman. Roman came running out, and carefully pulled Brian into a hug, and Brian hugged him back. Dom left to go home Roman upon seeing him leave asked “was that Dom the guy you let go?” Brian said “yep.” Roman said “come on let’s go eat.” When they got into the garage Brian could see all the cars that they need to work on. Brian said “I will help you tomorrow on these cars.” Roman said “okay.”

The next day, Brian and Roman was working on some of the cars when Dom and his family came to get the keys to the store and garage, Dom looked really mad. Roman said “hey what’s up?” Dom asked “what the hell is Brian doing working?” Roman said “to help out to get these car back to the owners.” Dom said “myself and my family will help as Brian is not supposed to be working because of his side.” Roman said “ah hell man he didn’t tell me. Brian get your white ass over here now.” Brian came over and said “yes? what is up?” Brian looked up and said “fuck.” Dom said “yeah that’s right, lift up your shirt now!” Brian did what Dom said, and they could see his side was bleeding.

Dom got his phone out of his pocket and called Eddie. Eddie said “hello.” Dom said “I don’t mean to bother you right now but I was wondering if you could come to DT garage, but the shop next to it to look at Brian side because he decided to work instead.” Eddie said “I will be right there.” Dom said “okay thank you.” Eddie said “you are welcome.” They got off the phone, an hour later Buck and Eddie got out of Eddie’s truck. Eddie had Brian sit down on one of the car's hood and lift his t-shirt again. Eddie said “all you need is to just fix this stitch right here.” Before he got to work and restitched the wound. Eddie said “there all done.” Brian said “thank you.” Eddie said “you are welcome.” Eddie and Buck said together “do not work until the stitch’s are gone.” Brian was about to say but I got to so I can eat and help my friend out. When Roman said “he will do as he is told, we will all make sure of it.” Eddie said “okay.” Dom and everyone said “goodbye.” Buck and Eddie said “goodbye” before they left.

Chapter 6

Brian turned to Roman and said "dude." Roman said "what, I only said the truth." Brian asked "what about the cars." Dom said "we will help out." Roman said "thank you." Dom said "you are welcome." Brian asked "what am I supposed to do?" Dom said "paperwork." Brian looked like someone sucker punched him causing Roman to laugh. Brian turned to face Roman with a look that says shut up or I will kill you! Roman turned his laughter to a coughing fit. Letty asked "what?" Roman said "Brian likes to do paperwork like he likes to be undercover. Which is not at all." Letty said "oh." Brian said "I am going to go lay down." Everyone said "okay." Brian went and laid down.

Letty said "I thought he liked to be undercover?" Roman said "not after what he did to you all nope. He was upset that he lied to you all. He got drunk one night and said that he had to get this done because he wanted to get your family together. He told me if he did not make it out alive, that he wanted me to make sure you got to be a family." Dom asked "how come he doesn't care for his life." Roman said "he wants what you all have." Vince was about to ask what he meant when it hit them all that Brian wanted a family. Dom asked "how come he doesn't have one?" Roman said "look I broke his trust once and I am not going to do it again." Dom said "okay."

Chapter 7

After waiting 10 minutes to give Brian chance to calm down, Dom went and left the room following in the direction that Brian went, after searching for five minutes he finally found him and sat down next to him, and said “am I ok to stay here with you, we can talk if you want just or just sit silently”. Brian said “yes and can we sit quietly for a while please”. Dom said “ok”. They sat quietly for around 30 minutes when Brian said “hey, I am sorry” Dom said “hey and it is ok”. Dom asked “can I ask you something?” Brian said “yeah sure what’s up?” Dom asked “how come you don’t have a family?” Brian said “well my dad walked out on my mom and I And I don’t know if he is alive or not. My mom did her best but when I was in my teens she did drugs and died, and I went into Juvie.” Dom asked “is that where you meet Roman?” Brian said “no, we lived next door to each other.” Dom said “oh, have you looked up your dad’s name since you’ve been a cop.” Brian said “no.” Dom asked “how come?” Brian said “when he left my mom we changed our names. I was a junior. She kept my first name as Brian but changed my middle name and last and dropped junior. I have never went looking to find out why or what happened? Dom asked “what if you have a brother or sister?” Brian said “well I hope they have a good life. my dad should know his wife's last name was O’Connor.” Dom said “so if you do have a brother or sister they can come and find you.” Brian said “yep.” Dom said “what then.” Brian said “I guess get to know them.” Dom said “that is good.”

Chapter 8

After their talk on his family life, they just sat there enjoying the silence, Dom had his arms wrapped around Brian, holding him while offering comfort. After a while Dom said "when you were little what was it you wanted to grow up to be?"
Brain said "I wanted to help people, I still do."
Dom said "that is good, well if you want to help people why don't you ask Buck and Eddie about it?"
Brian said "yeah."
Dom said "come on let's see what the other's are doing."
Brian said "okay."
Before they got to the otherside where everyone was, Brian asked "how is everyone?"
Dom said "we are good."
Brian said "that is good."
Dom said "yep." They then got to were everyone was.

Roman asked "are you good?"
Brian said "yep."
Roman gave Brian all of the paperwork causing Brian to make a face.
Roman said "don't gave me that look."
Brian went and sat down to do the paperwork by his car.
Jesse asked "who's car is this?"
Brian looked up and saw Jesse walking to his car.
Brian said "mine."
Jesse said "wow!"
Brian said "yep."
Jesse asked "what are the little words on the side of the car?"
Brian said "oh that?"
Jesse said "yes."
Roman said "bullet."
Jesse said "bullet as in Miami?"
Roman said "yes."
Everyone asked "how?"
Brian said "I got good."
Dom asked "as good as me?"
Brian said "I think you would still beat me." Brian saw that Roman was about to say let's have a race, But interrupted with "no."
Roman asked "what it will be good."
Brian said "it already happened and it's not going to happen again."

Chapter Text

Chapter 9

For the next five minutes the others tried to continue to convince and pressure Brian into agreeing to racing and ignoring what Brian was saying.
Dom had finally had enough and shouted "enough he said no and I'm saying No that's the end of it."
Everyone said "okay."
They all got to work. After a while they closed up shop.
Dom said "Brian and Roman you can come to our house."
Brian said "okay thank you."
Dom said "you are welcome."
Dom said "you Brian are not allowed to drive."
Brian was about to say something but Dom said "that's the end of it. You are riding with Roman and Letty is driving her car in front. And I am behind you."
Roman said "okay."
They all got into their cars and drove to Dom's house once there they got out the cars.
Brian said "I will be right there."
Everyone said "okay."

Brian called Buck. Buck answered the phone and asked "who is this?"
Brian said "Brian O'Conner."
Buck asked, "Is everything okay?"
Brian said "yes,the reason why I called is because I would like to help people but I can't be a cop any more. So I was wondering if you know something that I could do to help people?"
Buck said "well you could be a firefighter or Paramedic or a Dr."
Brian said "okay thank you."
Buck said "you are welcome."
Brian said "well I will let you go."
Buck said "okay goodbye."
Brian said "goodbye."
Buck and Brian got off the phone and Brian went to the backyard.
Roman asked, "Is everything okay?"
Brian said "yes."

Chapter 10

After the bbq, everyone went inside to hang out, but Brian stayed outside for a little bit longer with Dom, Brian told Dom what Buck had said.
Dom asked “well what do you want to do?”
Brian said “I was thinking about going to be a doctor.”
Dom said “that sounds good, but do what you feel is calling to you.”
Brian said “thank you.”
Dom said “you are welcome.”
Dom said “after you heal up you can sign up.”
Brian said “yep.”
Dom said “we’ll come on let’s go to bed.
Brian said “okay.”
They then got up and went to bed.

The next morning when Brian woke up, Dom was sat up next to him on the laptop, he turned to Brian and said “hey morning, i was just looking up what classes you will need to take, and when they next begin,”
Brian said “morning and thanks,”
Dom said “there due to start a month after you should have healed up giving you time to adjust and get your fitness levels back up”
Brian said “Thats good”

Chapter 11

It was a couple of weeks later. Brian was having trouble with his school work. Brian try to talk to Mia. But she was busy with her own work. So Brian thought of one person to help him out.

So Brian tried to call Buck and Eddie and they would not answer their phones at all. So Brian thought he would try to go to Buck and Eddie’s workplace. Brian went to fire station 118. Brian went in. Bobby asked Brian if he needed anything?

Brian said yes I am looking for Buck. Before Bobby could say anything Chimney came over and asked what do you want with the dumbass? Brian said I need some help and I am hoping he can help me out. I have tried calling him and Eddie but they have not answered their phones. Hen said maybe that they are saying that they don’t want to talk to you at all.

Bobby said because they have other things to do like dealing with accidents that happen to Buck and their son. Because the dumbass decided to get hurt for something stupid. Brian asked what is that? Chimney said Buck and Chris got in the tsunami. Brian said oh I know about that.

Chimney asked how do you know about it? Brian said because I helped carry Chris to the VA hospital. Hen said so you are the dumbass that didn’t want his family to come to him. And she said and the dumbass who would not listen to the hospital. Brian was about to say something but Bobby said get out and don’t come back at all.

Bobby said or I will get my wife to arrest you. Brian left crying. When Brian got home Dom could see that he was crying and he looked like he was going to keep crying. Dom opens the car door for Brian. Dom pulled Brian from the car.

And he pulled Briand into a hug. Dom asked what was wrong? Brian told Dom what was going on. Dom said okay come on let’s go and watch something that you like. Brian said okay.

Dom turns on the TV and puts on Blue Bloods. Brian said thank you. Dom said you are welcome. From all the school work and the crying Brian fell asleep. Dom got up from the couch.

Dom turns to his sister. And he said if Brian wakes up before I get back see what he needs help with the school stuff. Mia said okay. Dom left the house. Everyone in Dom’s family could see that he was pissed off and didn’t want to be on that side of him.

Dom got out of his car. Dom saw that Buck and Eddie were cleaning their trucks. Buck looked up and saw that Dom was really pissed off about something. Buck hit Eddie and pointed to Dom. Eddie looked to where Buck was pointed to.

Buck and Eddie dropped what they were doing and they went up to Dom. Before Buck or Eddie could say anything. Dom said get the captain and the other two people that were with him earlier Eddie was about to ask who was that but the three people that Dom wanted came up and said that was us.

Dom said good. Bobby asked who are you? Dom said my boyfriend was in here earlier. Chimney asked and who is that? Dom said the blonde that was in here looking for those to right there and he pointed to Buck and Eddie.

Dom said if you are ever that rude or mean to him again. I will promise you I will have agent Bilking and agent Hobbs look into you three. Buck asked what are you talking about? Dom turns to Buck and he said oh these three dumbasses didn’t tell you what they said to Brian?

Buck said no they didn’t. So Dom told them what had happened. After he told them Eddie looked like he was going to murder someone. Buck looked hurt. Buck said I quit.

Buck left to go get his stuff from his locker. Eddie said so do I. Eddie did the same thing that Buck was doing. After they got their stuff. They left the 118.

Buck asked Dom if they could go over to see Brian? Dom said yeah. Buck said thank you. Dom said you are welcome. Dom said follow me.

Eddie said yep. And that is what they did. Dom got home. Dom got out of his car. Dom said to Buck and Eddie the last thing I knew is that Brian is asleep.

Buck and Eddie said okay. But before they could get to the door. Brian came running out. And he hugged and kissed Dom. Brian asked are you okay?

Dom said yeah. And he said I got a few people to see you. Brian looked over Dom’s shoulder. Brian saw it was Buck and Eddie. Brian was about to turn and run.

But Dom got a hold of Brian’s arm. Dom said let them explain what is wrong. Brian just nodded his head. Buck and Eddie said we are sorry. We didn’t know what was going on until now.

Eddie said we were taking Chris to the doctor. And he said we also took Buck as well. Brian asked, was it my fault what happened in the tsunami? Eddie and Buck said no. Brian said okay.

Brian said thank you. Eddie and Buck said you are welcome. Brian asked do you want to come in? Eddie said for a little bit. Brian said well come on.

Buck could see that something was wrong with Brian. Like Brian was ready to end his life. Buck thinks it’s between what happened with the 118 and the school. If it was not for Eddie pointing it out to him. Eddie hit Buck’s knee with his own.

Buck looked sideways at Eddie and Eddie pointed with his eyes to Brian and he got what Eddie was saying without saying it. Eddie lied and said that he and Buck had to go home because their son needed them but Buck knew that Chris was at his grandma’s house for the night.

Buck was not going to say anything about it for now. Brian said oh okay and he said if you ever want to come over here you can bring your son here as well. Eddie said okay thank you. Brian said you are welcome.

Dom said come on. I will walk you out. Eddie and Buck said thank you. Dom said you are welcome. They got to the door.

Dom said goodbye. Buck whispers in Dom’s ear will you please come outside. Dom said yeah. They get outside by Eddie truck. Eddie said you might want to keep a close eye on Brian right now.

Dom asked why? Eddie said because he looks like he wants to end it. Dom looked scared for a second but he covered it up. Dom asked, is it because of the school?

Eddie said I think it’s that and what our team did. Dom said fuck. He said okay thank you. Eddie said you are welcome. Buck said don’t worry we are going to go to our firechief.

Dom said okay thank you. Buck said you are welcome. Buck handed Dom a card. Buck said this is the card of Dr. Coopland. Dom said okay thank you.

Buck said you are welcome. Eddie and Buck said goodbye. Dom said goodbye. Eddie got Buck and himself to the firechief offices. Dom got into the house.

Dom said to Brian we need to talk. Brian said okay. Dom said upstairs. Brian got up and went upstairs. Dom shut the door be hide him.

Mrs. Walker asked Buck and Eddie what can she do for them? Buck asked is firechief Alonzo in? Mrs. Walker said yes. Buck asks can we please talk to him? Mrs. Walker said rudely no you cann’t.

Buck asked why not? Mrs. Walker said because he is busy and doesn’t want to be inputed. Buck asked do you know when he will not be busy? Mrs. Walker said sorry I do not. Bcuk said well when he is not busy will you please let him know that we would like to see him.

Mrs. Walker said rudely again said yeah. Buck said thank you. So everyday Buck and Eddie would go to see if the firechief was able to see them. And everyday very rudely Mrs. Walker will say no. Buck and Eddie was getting madder with Mrs. Walker.

So one day Buck and Eddie was waiting for the firechief outside his office building. Mrs. Walker was with the firechief. When she saw Buck and Eddie waiting. She said if you do not leave right now I will call the cops. Eddie said we have a right to see the firechief.

Mrs. Walker said yes but I told you everyday that he is busy. Eddie said we know that. But we need to talk to him about one of his fire station. Mrs. Walker said yeah but he doesn’t have time to talk to outsiders. You would be better if you worked here.

Eddie said we do. Mrs. Walker said yeah right. Eddie said look up Evan (Buck) Buckley and Edmundo (Eddie) Diaz. Chief Alonzo asked did you just say Buckley? Buck said yes.

Chief Alonzo turns to Mrs. Walker and said I told you what he looked like and I said I wanted to see and talked to him. Mrs. Walker said that can’t be Buckley. Buck asked why not? Mrs. Walker said because you are too young for one and for two you don’t have a hurt arm. Buck said well to bad.

Chief Alonzo said you are fired. Mrs. Walker asked why? Alonzo said just get out of here now! And that is what Mrs. Walker did. Alonzo turns to Buck and Eddie.

Alonzo asked what can I do for you? Buck told Alonzo what happened. Alonzo said I will look into it. Eddie said we would like to change our jobs because of what happened at the 118. Alonzo said okay.

Alonzo asked what do you want to do? Eddie said I would like to be in arson. Alonzo said done. Buck said I would like to be a teacher at the academy. Alonzo said okay, good.

Alonzo said I will move your names tomorrow. Buck and Eddie said okay thank you. Alonzo said you are welcome. Alonzo said goodbye and good day. Buck and Eddie said you to.
