“ Seriously, Shinoa?!” the raven named Yuuichirou narrowed his emerald eyes at the petite ashen haired-girl. He searched her hazel eyes to see if it what she just said was some kind of joke, but unfortunately, she just nervously giggled, averting eye-contact.
“Haha… um… oops, I guess?” she mumbled. “Sorry on my part, Yuu-san. But that magenta bow is really important to me, you see.”
Yuuichirou could tell.
The Hiiragi house—yet his idiot friend Shinoa had forgotten her bow in a hurry to meet up with her friends. Now, she was begging her friends to go back and fetch it, but unfortunately, Tenri Hiiragi had to be throwing a big party for Mahiru Hiiragi on ‘whatever fucking occasion-I-don’t-really-care’, as quoted by Shinoa, and she’s a pussy and can’t go in, since it would be overflowing with people. And she’s not an introvert, so he was immensely confused.
‘Well, Shinoa, why can’t you just go in your house? I mean, it’s your mansion , no one is going to question your presence, right?’
As stated before, she’s a pussy. Her being there and asking for her forgotten bow would seem ‘cowardly’ of her, as stated by Shinoa once again. Her siblings would already downgrade her for forgetting something so trivial, which Yuuichirou thinks is fairly wrong, and they would most likely praise Mahiru for not being a dumb fuck, like her little sister.
Which Yuuichirou thinks is wrong, again.
Shinoa said that Mahiru was the perfect big sister, whereas she was trash compared to someone so regal. But that was the least of his worries for now.
‘Well, Shinoa , why can’t you just get a spare bow? Or a green bow? Or a blue bow?’
“No way, Yuu-san. No one ever parts me with my magenta beautiful bow!”
“You already did yourself, idiot!”
So, Yuuichirou finds himself going with his friend’s demands to waltz into her house with a fake identity to retrieve her oh so precious bow.
—
“Is everyone here? Right,” the hazel-eyed girl smirked. “I suppose you’ve all heard of my,” a sigh, “predicament.”
“You’re bullshit, Shinoa,” the honey-haired girl named Mitsuba snarled. “This is all bullshit. I bet she’s hiding the magenta bow somewhere and just needs an excuse to get us in fancy dresses.”
“I’m not that dumb, Mitsu-chan!” Shinoa whined, tugging on Mitsuba’s pink shirt, to which she jerked away. Kimizuki narrows his eyes at the two, clearly not pleased with Shinoa, yet Yoichi doesn’t really seem to mind. But seriously, who would want to fake identities to attend a party at the Hiiragi mansion, just to retrieve your friends stupid magenta bow?
Yuuichirou knows he wouldn’t want to. But he’s been friends with Shinoa since he met her in highschool. They were close, but through the years they became even closer.
“Let’s go over this!” Shinoa clasped her hands. “As you know, the party is currently going on right now. I got this ,” she deviously grinned, flicking out an invitation to Mahiru’s birthday party. It said ‘An invitation to Shinori Haneji and friends!’. “Of course, being a Hiiragi child, I get to make the invitations, and I made a custom one for us. I put a fake name, as you can see, to get us in for my hair problem.” Her usual hair, up in a twisted brain, letting her front hair fall on her shoulders, was now completely gone, her lavender hair flowing down.
“So, what’s the catch?” Kimizuki huffed.
Yuuichirou widened his eyes, flashing his gaze to Shinoa, a glare plastered on his face. “ Shinoa! ”
“I—It’s not as bad as you think,” she stuttered, trying to meet everyone’s glares, except Yoichi, who was trying to stop everyone from trying to murder her. “It’s just, everyone that goes, needs a date… and as you can see,” she gestured to everybody, “we’re outnumbered here.” She held Mitsuba’s hand—three V.S two. “We need another girl. I, um, suppose we have any other girl friends?”
Silence.
Shinoa cleared her throat. “A—Any?”
Kimizuki spoke up. “I have a sister…?”
“Perfect!” Shinoa said. Then a frown. “Wait…Mirai…?”
“Well, I don’t talk to many girls.”
“Pussy.”
“Shut up.”
“Give it up, Shinoa. It’s not like you can’t go one day without putting your hair up in a stupidly immaculate way,” Mitsuba sighed.
Yuuichirou watched as Shinoa’s defeated, and pathetic gaze dropped to the floor, making her violet locks droop along with her. Did he have any girls he interacted with? Sadly, no, Yuuichirou did not. That wasn’t very impressive.
“I suppose you’re right. Sorry for wasting your time,” Shinoa apologized. A glaze of pity shone through Yuuichirou’s eyes as they softened. She really wanted this bow, huh. Racing to think of an idea, it clicked. It could be effective.
“Wait,” he started. Everybody turned to look at him. “Do boys count?”
Silence once more.
“Ah… You swing that way, Yuu-san.” Shinoa smirked. Yuuichirou embarrassingly tried not to meet anybody’s questioning looks.
Yuuichirou’s cheeks flamed. “I was just trying to help, idiot!”
“I guess, but we’d have to dress him up as a girl, or everybody would give you weird looks.” She frowned. “Unfortunately.”
Any boys…?
The only boy that flashed through his mind was Mikaela, his best friend in the whole wide world since the Hyakuya orphanage. The boy he could count on. The friend he knew would listen to him despite the odds, because Mikaela was perfect for him. They got separated when they were little but reunited in high-school. Although Mikaela wasn’t comfortable with his friends, he always stuck to Yuuichirou no matter what.
Mikaela was everything to him. He loved his blonde locks and blue eyes, gosh, they’re so pretty—but it made sense nonetheless.
He had girl features, a girl name… everyone would believe them if they just put a dress on him. “Mika…!”
“Ah, Mikaela-san,” Shinoa grinned, “perfect!”
“W—What if he’s not available?” Yoichi scrunched up his eyebrows.
Yuuichirou shrugged, biting his lip. “We’ll see…” He grasped his phone in his hand, reluctantly pressing on Mikaela’s contact.
“Yuu-chan, hello.”
“Hey, erm, Mika…”
“...Hi.”
“Would you be willing to…? Ah, can’t get it out…”
“Tell him to crossdress just for you!” Shinoa added, rather smugly.
“Shut up!” Yuuichirou hissed, well aware that his cheeks were pink.
“Crossdress…?”
“...Just get over here and I’ll explain.”
—
“Hm.”
Mikaela’s warm blue eyes were fixated on Yuuichirou as he thought about the decision, making the raven incredibly sweaty and blush for no particular reason, but he ignored it. Plus, Mikaela was probably unaware that he was making Yuuichirou uncomfortable. Uncomfortable wasn’t the right word, actually. Yuuichirou liked his eyes.
“I’m doing this for Yuu-chan,” Mikaela finished, tearing his gaze away from Yuuichirou to look at Shinoa, his expression cold.
“Thank you, Mikaela-san!” Shinoa exclaimed, reaching in for a hug, but Mikaela stopped her.
“No thank you.”
“O—Of course!”
“Where do we even get the suits?” Yuuichirou asked, grumbling.
Shinoa sighed. “Oh, Yuu-san, you dumbass. I’ve prepared for this.”
“ Dumbass ? I’ll show you what this dumbass can do!”
—
Yuuichirou didn’t want to admit, the suit Shinoa got for him was sharp . Yuuichirou never cared about his appearance to please anyone, but he couldn’t help but stare at his suit through the mirror in Mitsuba’s house. It was black, except for the white undershirt with the tie he already fixed on.
“You look ugly,” Kimizuki had to say, appearing from the separate toilet-room.
Yuuichirou snorted, taking in Kimizuki’s appearance. The bleached-haired man didn’t look bad either, sporting the same suit, but the raven wouldn’t pass up a moment to spout trash about Kimizuki’s appearance. “You look like you got dipped in shit,” Yuuichirou shot back.
Kimizuki rolled his eyes. “Well, you’re immature.”
“Like hell!”
“Sure.”
“ Ugh !”
“Come on guys, you both look handsome!” Yoichi butt in, placing a shoulder on both men, smiling, which seemed to get Kimizuki to shut up. Yuuichirou bent down and slipped on a shoe, wondering how the girls and Mikaela were doing. His mind immediately flashed to all of them in dresses.
Mika in a dress? A blush crept on his face. He would look pretty with a blue dress. His green eyes widened in realization. Wait, what? Just shut the fuck up. Straightening his posture, he couldn’t get the image out of his head. But at least you’re not gay! You just think your friend would look pretty in a dress . A dress—that’s a girl thing.
Well, how about a blue suit? He would look even better in a suit than a dress.
Oh, and if he took his hair back behind his ear, or maybe undid a few of his buttons to reveal his pale, smooth, exposed chest.
A blue suit that sparkled, for sure. It would bring out his intoxicating eyes. They would glimmer so perfectly under the moonlight. He could kiss Mikaela under the moon, in fact, with his angel eyes staring into his…
Oh my god, you’re hopeless, Yuu!
Gritting his teeth, he opened his phone, popped on his earbuds that he fished through his pocket to get to, and tried to tune out his homosexual thoughts by playing music, and that contained his thirst.
…
The raven lied—he had to give it up when the evening sun shone through his windows, revealing the almost fading blue sky, which reminded him of…
Music clearly wasn’t working. He needed to sort out these feelings. Sighing, he imagined Shinoa and Mitsuba in a dress. Pretty, right?
He frowned when he didn’t get that pleasurable sensation down his spine. No…did he have a thing for Mikaela?
Okay, so gay, right? Kimizuki and Yoichi.
…
It did not work. He had already seen both of them in a suit anyway.
Sparked barely anything.
Why was Mikaela different?
He could dance with him under the moonlight, suit or dress, he didn’t care, he just wanted to press his lips on Mikaela’s sweet, pale mouth. Hell, if Mikaela was wearing the dirtiest of rags, he would still kiss him. The last thing he’d see before that kiss was his sky blue eyes, and he wouldn’t complain at all.
Mikaela looked like an angel with those eyes. Straight out of heaven.
It always nagged him in the back of his brain whenever Mikaela did something cute, but he dismissed them as a normal feeling; however, he didn’t get these feelings when someone did that. The realization dripped on his face like honey, making him shiver envisioning Mikaela in a suit.
But he was going in a dress.
That didn’t rip off the blush on his face, unfortunately.
“Yuu-kun,” Yoichi softly touched him. “They’re almost ready.”
Yuuichirou jumped in his position, swiveling around to meet Yoichi’s now concerned green gaze. “W—Who?”
“The girls and Mika, dumbass,” Kimizuki scoffed farther away from them. Dammit. Not right here. Not right now—not when I’m contemplating my sexuality far too deep in the damn closet that I for some reason can’t find my way out of…
“Right.” He stood up quickly—too quickly, erasing Mikaela from his mind. He was seeing him soon, so… ‘whatever’ was all he could come up with.
—
His heart beats faster.
It was beating way too fast.
Sitting on the couch of Mitsuba’s house, which was currently empty, he fiddled with his thumbs absentmindedly, knowing the clock was laughing at him as the time ticked out. He glared at the clock plastered on the wall, knowing that was doing everything but helping his miserable situation. His emerald eyes stared at his lap for an uncomfortably long amount of time, tuning out Yoichi and Kimizuki's conversation.
“Hellooo~!” He heard Shinoa’s voice call.
Shit. Shit. Oh, shit I’m screwed. He didn’t look up from his black pants, sweating.
“Come on out, Mikaela-san, don’t be shy.”
“ No. I just realized how shit-stupid this was.”
“Come on, for me…!”
“I’m doing this for Yuu-chan,” he corrected, warming Yuuichirou’s heart uncontrollably.
“Shut up, blondie!” Mitsuba snapped.
There was a beat of silence before Mitsuba seemed to realize she was also blonde.
“Well, you have two freaky blue zits!” she hotly snapped.
Another moment of silence before Mitsuba also seemed to realize she also had ‘two blue zits’.
Yuuichirou let a small chuckle escape his mouth before shivering. He was going to have to look at them eventually.
“Then come out before I regret wearing this dress!” Mitsuba whined. Mikaela didn’t respond to Mitsuba’s plea, and there was an uncomfortable silence before a groan erupted from the blonde girl. “I get it, you fucking idiot!”
“Oh, Mikaela-san,” Shinoa said. The raven heard a whimper escape Mikaela’s voice, and he instinctively looked up to see if his friend was okay.
Wrong move, though.
He saw Shinoa in a flower-print long dress, with a ponytail, which was all good—and then he saw Mitsuba with her trademark ponytails, and a red puffy dress with a necklace, but Mikaela was entirely something else.
Mikaela was so fucking pretty it hurt. He looked like an angel. As if the Gods had answered his prayers, Mikaela did in fact wear a blue dress. He had a black clip tucked in his golden locks and thigh-high boots which revealed some of his thighs.
They probably felt as soft as they looked. As he trailed upwards to his face, a blush formed on his face when he saw Mikaela’s flustered face scrunched up in a glare. Shinoa had yanked him out by taking his wrists, causing him to yelp like that.
He couldn’t tear his gaze away from him. For a split second, their eyes met, before they both looked away, their faces increasingly flushing. “Looks believable,” Kimizuki started, making his way toward the girls.
“I picked out the dress,” Shinoa stated proudly, smirking as Mikaela sent her a death glare. “You can thank me, Mikaela-san. Yuu-san seems to be head over heels for you.” Shinoa then flashed her usual Cheshire-grin. No one responded, except for a few snickers from Mitsuba and Kimizuki. Mikaela hurriedly made his way to Yuuichirou, practically tripping because of the impossible shoes he had on. Their shoulders brushed, but the blonde was a bit too interested in looking at the floor. Yuuichirou took a look at Mikaela once again, gaping at his body when…
… when did Mikaela get a chest like that ? “Wait, Mika, wh—?”
“Don’t ask,” Mitsuba cut in, narrowing her dark blue eyes at Yuuichirou, who looked away, flushed.
“Mika-kun looks like a girl, really !” Yoichi said, moving closer to Mikaela. The latter looked like he was trying not to hiss and lash out at him.
“Okay, okay, we get it, Mika’s pretty,” Mitsuba huffed. “Let’s just get this over with.”
“Sure you’re not jealous, Mitsu-chan?” Shinoa perked up.
Yuuichirou tuned out their bickering, turning his attention to his pretty friend. “You look great—” absolutely-fucking-stunning “—Mika.” He smiled fondly at Mikaela, who shared his look.
“Thanks, Yuu-chan. You, erm…” Mikaela eyed him up and down, his blue eyes widening as his cheeks turned into a dark pink, “you look really good in that suit.”
“Does black suit me?” he teased, sure his face was on fire.
Mikaela smirked. “No, actually, you look super ugly. I, of course, look amazing.”
“You really do,” Yuuichirou replied, his voice quiet. He moved closer, taking the blonde’s hand in his as he maintained eye contact, their faces mere inches apart. Mikaela’s breath hitched as Yuuichirou eyed him up and down again, Mikaela squeezing his hands in Yuuichirou’s. “No lies,” Yuuichirou softly added.
“Um…” The blonde was lost for words. “...I—”
“Okay,” a voice interrupted. They turned away from each other, instinctively removing their grasp from each other. Shinoa got everybody’s attention. “We’re ready! Okay…um…who knows how to drive?”
“You really needed us, huh shortie,” Mitsuba muttered.
“I need you , Mitsu-chan! D’aww, you look so cute in that red dress I could just—!”
“ Get off me, you leech-ass perv —!”
“I’ll drive,” Kimizuki sighed, pushing the ashen-haired girl away from Mitsuba before they attacked each other. “Let’s go. I don’t wanna drown in this suit any longer.”
—
“Oh, yes, I’m Shinori,” Shinoa said, sweet-talking the guard in front of the house. Yuuichirou could hear the muffled classical song coming from the huge mansion. His eyes just widened looking at the Hiiragi house—it was big . All his other friends seemed too preoccupied in gaping as well. “And I must say,” Shinoa hummed, “your tie looks absolutely extravagant this evening.”
The guard huffed. “Invitation?”
“Ah, yes! Me and the Hiiragi’s are great friends, here’s an invitation. We’re such good friends that she didn’t, in fact, make an invitation for these friends over here,” she flicked her gaze over to her friends, “she added an extra something to the invitation.”
Handing the edited invite, the guard scanned over each of them. It rested over Mikaela, his gaze scrunching over him suspiciously. Yuuichirou saw the blonde stiffen as he tore his gaze from the guard.
Comfortingly, he let Mikaela slip a hand through his arm, and definitely didn’t use that as an excuse to move extra closer and whisper, “Just ignore him, Mika.”
Mikaela perked up, turning to face the raven, his blue eyes softened fondly. The raven could feel the blonde’s nervous breaths against his lips, his stomach rampaging with butterflies as their eyes pierced each other’s. “O—Okay,” he mumbled, still looking at the raven.
“I’ll need a name confirmation before we enter,” the guard said, looking away from the blonde.
“U—Um, Shinori,” Shinoa said, then she pointed to everyone of them, “Mitsuba Sanguu, Shihou Kimizuki, Yoichi Saotome, and Yuuichirou and Mikaela Hyakuya.”
The guard still stood over the door. “Siblings? Doesn’t look like it.” He gestured silently to Mikaela’s foreign looks. Yuuichirou glared. They weren’t blood-related, and no, they’re not siblings. That accusation bothered him.
“No. We’re not.”
“Hm. Okay.” The guard sidestepped, letting them in. Shinoa grinned, flashing her teeth at everybody before casually slipping in. There were a lot of people that littered the huge ballroom, but Yuuichirou couldn’t see Mahiru anywhere. He didn’t care though.
…Because Mikaela’s arm was still looped through his. He flashed a look at Mikaela, who blushed and grinned at him, making Yuuichirou’s heart fly out of his stomach.
—
His heart was now in the pit of his stomach.
He was so, utterly, bored, even with Mikaela by side.
Shinoa was taking way too long to fetch her magenta bow.
And with the blaring music blocking his communication with Mikaela, his lonesome figure moping at the tables, he wasn’t having a good time. Mitsuba insisted on going with the ashen-haired girl, but she went alone. She knew how to maneuver through the mansion, after all. Yoichi and Kimizuki kept switching out to dance with Mitsuba so they both wouldn’t look suspicious, but Mikaela refused to dance.
And Yuuichirou doesn’t blame him.
Not only would it be embarrassing to be dancing with a ‘girl’ that’s an inch taller, he also had no sense of how to dance, although he longed to wrap his arms around Mikaela’s waist and bring him closer.
He blushed at the thought of their skin rubbing against each other, he completely forgot the one he was longing for was right next to him until that same person was tugging on his suit sleeve. “Yuu-chan?” the blonde murmured.
“Yes?” He asked quickly.
… Too quickly…
Mikaela softly smiled, god , he’s perfect, “Follow me,” he whispered.
“W—Where are we going?” The raven asked, brows furrowing.
“Just follow me, idiot.”
“Okay…”
—
“Where the hell did you find this?”
Mikaela had led him to a deserted place in the Hiiragi's backyard, where the moonlight shone perfectly down on the long green grass, lightening up the whole area. “Come up here,” Mikaela urged, taking his hand as he led up to brick stairs leading to a roof to overlook the moon.
Yuuichirou stayed close by his side, watching intently as Mikaela focused on getting the right foot on the right step due to his small heels. His blue eyes were scrunched up, almost glaring at every step, intimidating them, so they wouldn’t make him fall. It was… cute…
Too cute, in fact, he didn’t notice Mikaela almost tripped until he let out a soft ‘yelp’. Yuuichirou swiftly caught his waist, holding him firm. “Be careful, Mika, you’ll fall on me too…” His tone was teasing, yet Mikaela blushed anyway. He didn’t mean for Mikaela to get flustered.
“Sorry, Yuu-chan.”
“I’m not removing my hold, by the way.”
“Why…?”
“U—Um,” the raven muttered, unsure why he even said that in the first place, “because you might—might fall again, dumbass…”
“I won’t!”
“Liar.”
“Whatever…” Mikaela didn’t push any further. They eventually reached the top, settling on the roof, silence surrounding them as the moon shone on their faces. Yuuichirou removed his grasp from the blonde, staring up at the moon. It looked really pretty. Their knees slightly brushed against each other, just like the sides of their hands. The raven’s emerald eyes were cautious, scared if he looked at Mikaela he wouldn’t be able to turn away. “Why,” he softly started, “did you bring us here?”
Mikaela didn’t reply at first, then a sigh erupted from his pale lips. “Is being bored valid?”
Yuuichirou shrugged. “I’m not complaining. No way was I dancing, by the way.”
The blonde smiled, turning his pretty face towards Yuuichirou. “I bet you’re horrible at it.”
“N—No I’m not!” The raven lied, flustered.
“Then dance with me right now.”
“I’m not going to, you old fart!”
“But you’ll miss an opportunity to dance with the one and only…” Mikaela teased, prodding him with a finger. Yuuichirou paused, reconsidering his thoughts. This is what I’ve wanted. Mika’s serving it to me on a silver platter. “Just kidding, of course,” Mikaela said suddenly at Yuuichirou’s face, the blonde said, his face holding emotions that Yuuichirou couldn't make out. He grabbed Yuuichirou’s arm gently. “Am I that bad?” His tone was playful, but Yuuichirou sensed a trace of hurt in his voice.
“No, you’re perfect,” the raven blurted, meeting Mikaela’s eyes for a moment before turning away, blinking back regretful actions. “What I meant was, I’m bad at dancing…” Mikaela removed his grip from his arm, not meeting his gaze.
“Right.”
Silence engulfed the two, Yuuichirou becoming increasingly awkward. I’m so idiotic for saying that shit… Goddammit… He sneaked a glance at the blonde. Mikaela was looking up at the moon idly, eyes softened and unfocused. The raven trailed his gaze along his body, and couldn't help but acknowledge his dress that fit Mikaela like a doll, and his exposed legs…
Yuuichirou let his gaze linger on Mikaela’s creamy thighs for a second longer than needed before looking away. I’m hopeless. Clearing his throat, he started, “so… nice dress, huh?”
Mikaela groaned. “I hate your friends.”
Yuuichirou perked up. “Right! Shinoa should be done by now.”
“Not possible,” Mikaela sighed.
“But she just needed to get the bow?”
“Didn’t you hear?” the blonde stared at Yuuichirou curiously. “She said she was going to fix her hair in her bathroom as well.”
Fuck no. “Actually?! I’m gonna kill her!” the raven exclaimed, cursing under her breath.
“She’s most likely making that trademark hairstyle as we speak,” Mikaela muttered. “Or if we’re unlucky, still trying to find it. Or if we’re cursed by Satan…” he smiled, “...trying to find her room still. It’s a big mansion.” Another interval of silence wedged between them, before Mikaela initiated the conversation. “So, the dress…”
“Ah, yes,” Yuuichirou continued, flustered. “I just wanted to make a point and say it looks well on you.”
“Thanks,” the blonde replied, quieter than usual. “I guess looking like a girl has its perks…”
“I’m not saying you look entirely like a girl,” Yuuichirou objected, not sure where this conversation was going, “you just have a little feminine features, y’know?”
“I was never complaining,” Mikaela smiled. “But I much prefer a suit. I think it would look better on me.”
Instantly his friend in a suit drenched his thoughts. A sparkly, really good suit, that would look amazing on him. Dammit. “Me too,” he whispered.
“Hm?”
“ Uh , I said I much prefer a suit too.”
Suddenly, Mikaela dug into his chest, removing…
Stuffed paper…? Yuuichirou’s cheeks turned a dark shade of red as he caught a glimpse of Mikaela’s chest. “W—What are you doing?!”
“They put stuffed paper on my chest to make me look like a girl,” Mikaela muttered, blushing. He flicked the paper away, avoiding Yuuichirou’s astonished look. “It was uncomfortable on my chest…”
Yuuichirou’s face was on fire, for sure.
Now his chest wasn’t as curvaceous but…they were still…big—
Stop. Fucking. Looking. He swiveled around embarrassingly.
Mikaela’s eyes softened in the silence. “The moon looks pretty, right?”
Not as pretty as you , he wanted to say. But he chose being normal to being flirty, so he nodded simply. “Great view.” Again, he quickly took a turn to admire the blonde, but widened his eyes when he realized Mikaela was already looking at him.
Looking at him closer , in fact—was he leaning in?
Yes, yes he was, he realized. Yuuichirou fought the urge to dive into his lips. But he subtly looked down at them. They were plump, pale, and just the right shape, and parted slightly. Yuuichirou gulped. I can’t do this anymore . Nervously glancing up at him, his eyes were very very very close.
Yuuichirou got a moment to look through his eyes. His blue eyes held so much meaning. Not dark-blue like Mitsuba’s—a light, sky-blue that radiated a fluffy, safe vibe that was just like Mikaela to him. Right now, his pupils were big, staring right at Yuuichirou. They seemed to be scrunched up, studying him intently.
Mikaela leaned in dangerously closer once more. “Yuu-chan…”
“Ye—yes?”
“I… I think you…”
“You think I what, Mika?” Yuuichirou shut his eyes tight, bracing for the feeling of Mikaela’s sweet lips, but he felt something else.
“I think you have something on your lip,” the blonde stated.
Yuuichirou cracked an eye open. “Oh. I mean— Oh?”
“Yes.” The raven swore he saw a hint of a smirk on his friend’s lips. Mikaela shifted his whole body toward Yuuichirou, giving him a whole view of his chest before leaning down and lifting his long, elegant finger to his lip, their foreheads touching.
Yuuichirou flushed a dark shade, feeling Mikaela’s finger brush against his lips. Okay. Don’t do anything weird. He shivered in pleasure, fighting the urge to make any strange noises come from his mouth. Then Mikaela retracted his finger, revealing…
“Is that chocolate?” Yuuichirou’s brows furrowed at the tiny bit of chocolate that was barely bigger than Mikaela’s nail.
“Did you eat here?”
Yuuichirou’s cheeks flamed. “I was hungry… and there was a chocolate fountain!” Of course the Hiiragi’s would put something like that on Mahiru’s birthday, so I had to get it.
“So am I.” And with that…
Mikaela ate the little bit of chocolate that was on Yuuichirou’s lips.
The raven’s eyes widened as the blonde swallowed it in one gulp, realizing that they kissed. Indirectly. Right? What was once on his lips was on Mikaela’s for a split second. “Why did you—?”
“I was hungry,” Mikaela explained, his lips pouting. Yuuichirou gave in to the blonde’s cute reaction. I can’t take it anymore. I really can’t.
“You’re cute.”
Now it was Mikaela’s turn to be flustered. “W—What?”
Yuuichirou looked away. “Nevermind.”
“No! Keep going!” Mikaela whined, taking the raven’s shoulders and shaking them. “What did you say?”
“If you keep this up, Mika, we’ll fall off the roof!” Yuuichirou gripped the roof at that, staring up at Mikaela who looked… noticeably flustered… it made the raven smile, and he smiled even wider when the blonde blushed.
“I don’t care! Repeat what you said,” Mikaela commanded.
“Make me,” Yuuichirou huffed, sticking his tongue out.
Uh oh.
Did I just say that?
Mikaela stopped, narrowing his eyes, his gaze dark. “What did you say?” he whispered, his voice breathy.
“Nothing,” Yuuichirou promised.
“No, because I’ll make you repeat it if I have to.”
Yuuichirou’s heart skipped a beat at how very close they were. “W—What do you mean by that?”
“You know what I mean by that,” Mikaela smirked.
“I don’t,” Yuuichirou objected, even though he sure as hell knew what he meant. “I really don’t!” The raven leaned back as Mikaela leaned closer. Shit, I think he’s gonna kiss me. On instinct his lips parted, preparing for an angelic glow to overtake him soon.
A few seconds passed before Mikaela’s shoulders seemed to droop, then he maintained his regular position, sitting only one inch farther from him than he did before, his head tilted away from him. “Oh. I don’t either,” he added quickly.
Yuuichirou’s body shifted towards Mikaela in confusion. “Wh…Huh?”
“Nothing, apparently.”
The raven’s eyes tilted down at the change in the blonde’s demeanor. He studied his body, the way his whole figure seemed to slouch and how he was now fairly quiet. Mikaela eyed him quickly, but upon already seeing the raven studying him, he looked away. And while wondering why, it just seemed to click, which rarely ever happened to him, when he caught the hurt that flashed through the other’s sky-blue eyes.
If he was really analyzing this correctly, Mikaela attempted to kiss him.
Which is what he wants, right?
That is what he wants.
But whenever the blonde gets close, he gets sweaty, and he stutters, and his face grows hot, and he can’t control his mouth even though his brain is screaming at him to be logical and calm, but his heart comes through and fuels his feelings.
Even though he had denied that he in fact did not know what Mikaela was talking about. He took the hint, but refused. Because Yuuichirou, even though he didn’t want to admit it, has never done this before. He was trailing in territory he’s never been in. Of course he would be a little scared.
But Yuuichirou insisting and repeating, ‘I don’t’, must have cracked the other’s heart somehow. As if the blonde was saying, ‘I love you so much. You’re so amazing, and you’re absolutely handsome, and your heart is kind. Do you reciprocate these feelings?’
And all Mikaela could hear was, ‘I don’t. I really don’t.’
All the thoughts swam through the raven’s mind so fast, but he understood almost immediately. Yuuichirou sighed, and scooted closer than before, their thighs in full contact now. “Hm, it’s nothing, now?”
“Yes,” the other rasped. Yuuichirou’s eyes darkened at the other’s scratchy tone, his eyes filled with lust uncontrollably.
A few beats of silence. “It didn’t seem like nothing,” Yuuichirou replied quietly.
Mikaela’s breath hitched. “I guess it was.”
The other slung his arm around Mikaela’s waist, leaning in close until his mouth was a close second away from his ear. “Aw. I was hoping it wasn’t.”
“You were?” Mikaela asked quickly. Yuuichirou could feel him jolt in surprise in his grasp.
“But I thought it was nothing?”
Mikaela took a few moments to let Yuuichirou’s word sink in before a smile curled on his lips, but he fought it off, much to the raven’s joy as Mikaela turned around to slap him playfully on the chest. “Don’t do this to me, Yuu-chan!” A giggle came from Mikaela. Yuuichirou could feel the chuckle on his face, their closeness very noticeable.
His guts twisted seeing the pretty blonde so close to him, and Yuuichirou was aware they both knew that they both reciprocated their feelings at this point. They both knew that they both shared the same imaginations and fantasies of the other, and the raven had to do something about the heavy silence. And for some reason, he didn’t know why, he knew what was coming. He knew what Mikaela was going to request even before his mouth opened.
“Yuu-chan,” Mikaela called in a whisper.
Yuuichirou hummed in reply.
“Please, after all these years,” he said, leaning their foreheads against each other, “kiss me.”
Yuuichirou didn’t want to waste any time at all processing what Mikaela said. No second thoughts to pause if what the blonde said was really what he thought he said, and Yuuichirou went with his gut instinct, holding his chin to bring their faces even closer, but Mikaela broke it by cradling his cheek, emitting a red flush on the raven’s face, cue the butterflies in his stomach, and kissed him.
It was only a short peck, but when they pulled away, it didn’t seem right.
It didn’t seem right, because Yuuichirou didn’t know kisses were supposed to feel that good. And why, despite how good it feeled, was only so short. So he took his other arm to fully incase Mikaela’s waist to dive in again and kiss him, not bothering to ask for permission, because he knew he didn’t need to when the other threw his hands on his chest, clutching his clothing and pressed his lips against the raven’s.
And then they kissed again. And again, because Mikaela’s lips tasted sweet, and Yuuichirou wondered if it was because of the chocolate. Kissing him felt so…warm. Eventually they grew more passionate and rough, Yuuichirou feeling the need to tilt his head, which only made a jolt of pleasure rock his spine as he scooted even closer. He never did this kissing thing ever in his whole life, but when doing it with Mikaela, he seemed to naturally know what to do.
Then their kissing slowed, and eventually they would just plant short and soft chaste kisses on their lips, their smiles growing wider every time their lips connected, until a soft chuckle erupted from the blonde.
And his laugh was music to Yuuichirou’s ears. His laugh sounded even better than kissing, but Yuuichirou pecked him again anyway, nuzzling his nose against the other’s. “Mika, say it.”
Mikaela’s eyes closed fondly at his words, and they both knew what he meant. “You first.”
“I asked first.”
“But that’s embarrassing…”
Yuuichirou smirked, planting a kiss on the other’s neck. He didn’t know why he did that, but it just felt right. And Mikaela must have agreed, because a content sigh escaped from his lips. “That’s exactly why I want you to say it.”
Mikaela threaded his hands through Yuuichirou’s spiky hair, which felt soothing, making him lean into the other’s chest, his cheek meeting with the silk of his dress. He smiled remembering that it was blue. Blue looks so good on Mikaela. His grin grew remembering how panicked he was thinking about the other in a suit and dress. If only he could see him now, cuddling up against him. “But who’s the embarrassing one here?” Mikaela asked, smirking against the raven’s hair. Yuuichirou must have been leaning way too close, because eventually Mikaela fell backwards. No one said anything to that, but the raven just crawled up closer to him, entangling their legs together. Yuuichirou placed a hand on the other's thigh, and gosh, they really were soft. He stroked them comfortingly, and a squeak came from the blonde.
“Uhm, you , obviously!” Yuuichirou objected, hoisting himself up higher so his breath fell on Mikaela's neck. Mikaela pecked him on the forehead as a beat of silence passed, but that was enough to make him realize that he was in fact the embarrassing one. He sighed, but he had no trouble saying the three words he’d unknowingly been longing to hear. Yuuichirou wanted to tell Mikaela that so badly.
“I love you, Mika.” Yuuichirou smiled softly and looked up at him.
A tear fell from Mikaela’s beautiful, big blue eyes, but a smile was on his face. “H—Hey! Mika! It’s not that deep, y’know…” Oh, but it really was. It really was deep. It was deeper than the ocean. His love for Mikaela was deeper than the ocean, he realized.
“I love you too, Yuu-chan,” Mikaela sniffled.
‘I love you too’.
He loves me too.
Yuuichirou’s eyes widened at the heavenly sight in front of him, the way the blonde’s face scrunched up just right, his mouth in a perfect smile, cheeks tinted with the right amount of red. Which made tears prick at his own eyes. “Shit, Mika, now you got me cryin’...you crybaby.”
“You were always a crybaby. Don’t even lie.”
Yuuchirou knew he was, but he objected anyway. “No! I always made sure to cry where you couldn’t see me!”
Even though seeing Mikaela cry tugged at his heartstrings, it made Yuuichirou feel whole, in a way, because he understood. Yuuichirou and Mikaela shared feelings for each other for so long, hearing those words felt so refreshing. He wouldn’t classify that as a ‘problem’, but it left him standing there, unsure of what to do about such a pretty sight. He was afraid of touching him, like it was fragile, and it would break. He knew kissing him would solve the problem, though, so that’s exactly what he did. He made sure it counted. He made sure every single soft, rough, sexual, romantic, every single kiss in the world counted when it came to Mikaela. “I want to stay here forever, Yuu-chan,” Mikaela murmured.
“Me too,” Yuuichirou hummed, feeling the blonde’s locks in his fingers, “but wouldn’t you rather come with me?”
Mikaela lifted his head up to blink at the raven. “You’re leaving?”
“I’m not leaving. I’m ditching. Shinoa’s a bitch, I’m sure she’s taking this long on purpose,” Yuuichirou admitted, taking Mikaela’s hands in his own. “Ditch with me. Please.”
Mikaela’s eyes showed no hesitation. “I've wanted to ditch ever since I got here.” He flashed the raven a bright smile. “Or…everybody’s already done and waiting for us.”
“Shit!” Yuuichirou cursed, quickly hefting him and Mikaela up. “Worst case scenario!”
—
In this case, it was the best case scenario.
Yoichi, Kimiziuki and Mitsuba were resting at a nearby table. The music was just as loud as Yuuichirou remembered, but he made sure to stay out of their view as they ducked away to blend in with the dancing crows. “I feel like we’re committing a crime,” Mikaela hissed to Yuuichirou as they weaved their way through the crowd. “Why are we so secretive about it?”
“You don’t want them to find out about us, do we?” Yuuichirou said back, shooting Mikaela a suggestive glance. Mikaela blushed, looking away, keeping his gaze on the floor. Eventually they spilled out, catching their breaths, until they looked up to see the dark sky, but the moon illuminated their eyes.
“Finally, we got out!” Yuuichirou said, pumping his fists in the air, like he achieved the world’s greatest prize. Maybe he did, because it was worth it to see Mikaela’s smile.
“Now what?” Mikaela asked, running his hands through his wavy hair. Yuuichirou grinned and stepped closer.
“We go home and change out of these stuffy clothes.”
“What are you going to change me out of? A suit?” Mikaela huffed, his eyes flashing mischievously as he leaned in.
Yuuichirou blushed, slipping his arms through Mikaela’s, as they started walking away, their hips almost brushing against each other, until the raven broke the space and pressed them together. “Not exactly,” Yuuichirou smirked, “no.”
Mikaela caught the meaning in his words and his cheeks were decorated with a soft pink. “Don’t you feel pity for leaving your friends behind?”
“Can’t I explain it to them later?”
“What are you going to explain to them? ‘I wanted to leave with my ‘friend’ at my house to do 'whatever shit’?”
“That depends on your interpretation on ‘whatever shit’, which I hope matches mine.”
“...Hell yes it does.”
