Chapter Text
“‘Tis good to see you awake, G’raha Tia.”
At the sound of their voice, the tears I tried so hard to hold back billowed forth like a waterfall.
Their voice, like a song of a siren, leads me to my destiny. Whether it be death or adventure, I will answer the call with every inch of my being, every feeling in my heart.
“‘Tis… ‘Tis good to be awake, my friend.”
I rub the tears away to no avail. They simply kept coming, like a dam that has ruptured. In my impaired vision, I see the form of a figure grow closer, and though I cannot see them clearly I already know who it is. I allow myself to lean into their touch once they are close enough–their arms wrapping me tight into an embrace.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t there to wake you up.”
I couldn’t even utter a word. I simply shook my head and buried myself deeper into them, inhaling their scent, grasping on tightly to the fabrics of their clothes.
Ever since their arrival to the First, I felt like I truly was in a dream. An adventure of my own machinations, my imagination running wild and free as I slumbered on in my tower. For in what world would we both take the main stage in a world destroying catastrophe?
Yet, here they were–real–and I was in their arms, ruining their tunic with my tears.
With an awkward chuckle, I finally spoke.
“My friend, if I may confess, I’m still not sure if I truly am awake.”
Their laugh echoed in my ears, endearment coursing through my body. A kiss found its way on my cheek and my dream hypothesis started to grow much more likely.
“Then I might be able to keep my promise yet.”
