It's been two years since the final showdown against Knives, two years since the Earth Federation had finally stopped chasing after Vash. Two years since the death of Wolfwood, the man who held Vash's hearts in his hands and had dropped it along with a bottle of Bride on a dirty couch. Although struggling to move on pass the grief and loss of Wolfwood and Knives, Meryl got in touch with him to tell him of a new bounty hunter on the loose. A bounty hunter who doesn't kill their targets....at least, not directly. The only other clue they have are the messages being left behind.

Any conversation that starts at three in the morning isn’t going to be a good one. Wolfwood’s been through enough shit in his life to know that, so he doesn’t have high hopes when Vash opens the door to their little screened balcony with his phone screen lit up and his brows furrowed.
Wolfwood blows smoke from his cigarette. Neither of them should be awake, but Wolfwood’s never been good at keeping a sleep schedule, and he knows Vash is even worse.
Wolfwood breaks the silence first. “What’re you doing up?”
“I need your help.”
